I will have to hope I'm wrong about Reed's versatility and athleticism if he's the pick. Reed is probably going to play a long time. And probably for a lot of teams. Nice run defender but just a guy, IMO. Drafting poorly in round 1 can cause a domino effect. Pick a NT in round 1 then you pass on the right one in round 4 or 5 or 6 and end up passing on a cornerstone player early and with camp fodder with the pick that should have been your NT. That's how a draft goes bad. I'm on record as saying first round picks are the most overrated way of acquiring talent and also that they should only be used on players at positions that you can't afford/get in free agency and that domino effect is part of that equation. It's not a huge need...Because the Bills are not that kind of Offense... The Bills were 31st in pass attempts and 2nd in rushing attempts in the NFL last year...The Offense is not going to change...They literally brag about the fact that they want to be the most physical running team in the NFL...They had a mere 465 passing attempts in 2015...The league leader had 676...Sammy is going to get the ball more than any WR on the roster no matter what, and it won't be close...They want to get the ball to Clay more...They'll throw to Shady...They'll throw to Karlos...Woods will get his 40+...I think they'll use Gragg more this year...They just need one more piece...And they'll get it...Just not in the 1st... We have a Top 10, maybe Top 5, NFL WR already in Sammy...Robert Woods has 152 catches in three years...Dez Lewis got the redshirt year he needed...I look at this Draft and say I'd rather have Lewis with a year under his belt than just about any WR from at least the 5th Round on...They're hoping one from Hankerson, Boykin, and Little emerge...They all have NFL experience...It's really not that bad for a run 1st team... And lastly, Drafting a WR at #19 should not be in play because GM's that use 3 first round picks on 2 WR's in a three year span while watching their Defense lose games, and key players, end up unemployed...
