It’s being created for girls who would otherwise be prohibited by their ultraconservative Muslim families from going to regular proms, where attendees are allowed to have fun and dance with members of the opposite sex in good old American tradition. Hamtramck High School’s girls-only “Princess Prom” was first organized in 2012 by a group of five Muslim girls to give them the opportunity to go to a “safe space” prom. In 2016, 230 girls showed up. Now boys have an excuse to skip it and go straight to the after-party. The best thing about feminism is finally being able to skip all the crap girls have forced guys to do for centuries. Anna Wibbelman — who used to head an organization concerned about enhancing college life, called Building a Better Michigan — announced at a recent student government meeting that “minority students felt marginalized by quiet, imposing masculine paneling” that covers the walls in the century-old building. REALLY hoping that she just got tongue-tied in that meeting but if not, holy cow what an idjit. 2. This is an example of how good we have it in this country. Once all college is free, then market forces will no longer be in play in making your institute of higher learning attractive to the discerning student, so their student ranks will swell once again.
