eball
 I agree, Dan has not fully recovered yet   it could be that DC is hurt and that's why they signed Cundiff and kept both. Cundiff can KO so they got rid of Gay for the roster spot, but will cut Cundiff once DC is healthy and could always re-sign Gay if necessary because let's face it, what other team is going to sign a KO specialist? He'll be available.  This is the only thing that makes sense to me. And Thigpen had been horrible on punt returns so far this year.
FLFan
Anyone else remember that game Denarius Moore had against the Bills in his rookie year? I think it was 2011. We made him look like Jerry Freaking Rice. no I agree. No way. He does not make that 51 yard kick Carpenter made, for sure.

Miyagi-Do Karate
1) Smart move re. Cundiff. Low risk, and now we have some insurance if Carpenter still struggles. Â 2) But I am disappointed re cutting Thigpen. Not his fault that the blocking on ST has been terrible. He is an outstanding return guy. But I wonder if they think Moore gives them better flexibility-- i.e., can actually play WR and probably return punts.

YoloinOhio
One point of interest is that Denarius was with the Bengals all through OTAs and preseason, made it until final cut downs. He will be able to provide insight to Bills into Bengals offense as he also played for Hue Jackson's system in Oakland

KDIGGZ
If they cut Carpenter for Cundiff, they are morons. I am rapidly losing any faith I ever had in Rex Ryan's judgment. Â Has nothing to do with Rex. Whaley is in charge of personnel. Rex just coaches who is on the roster and will give his 2 cents here and there but he's definitely not picking kickers
nucci
Is Cundiff really better than Carpenter? Really? No and Carpenter hasn't been bad...many K have missed XP....the short FG miss was bad but not enough to cut him...Cundiff is not that good Has nothing to do with Rex. Whaley is in charge of personnel. Rex just coaches who is on the roster and will give his 2 cents here and there but he's definitely not picking kickers you really believe that? NoSaint
oh hell yeah. If they feel Cundiff can do both, he's gone. Â As far as Thigpen, it seemed like all he would do this year is dance around looking for an opening and get tackled with minimal gain, rather than head straight down field trying to hit a seam. if cundiff shows to be as good, carpenter may be the casualty when Leo returns. BuffaloBaumer
Thank God Thigpen is off this team. If I saw one more fair catch with nobody within 10 yards of him....ugh
BmarvB
Ok, granted, he's sending a message to Carpenter, but really? "The Bills newest kicker has a career field goal success rate of 76.2 percent. Carpenter has a success rate of 84.3 percent."

In response to #2, when you fair catch THREE punts inside the opponents 10 yard line and can't judge the way the ball is coming at you and realize that all 3 would have gone through the back of the end zone, you don't deserve to keep that job. Cost them at least 10-12 yards of field position each time.
26CornerBlitz
If the Bills are in a must make FG situation, the last guy I'd want in that scenario is Cundiff. Edited October 7, 2015 by 26CornerBlitz
aristocrat
i remember moore for torching us for like 175 yards and a couple tds like 5 years ago. I remember thinking how the hell can't we cover this no name guy?
