Do We Have Any Bernie Sanders Supporters Among Us?

Recommended Posts

Health insurance is the reason for stagnant European growth? How about the fact they don't have a central government to balance out regional difference and eliminate barriers to commerce like we do. Europe is still a divided continent and that hurts their economy. I don't disagree that socialism also hurts in some significant ways but when a small nation like Greece can cause all that problems its a structural problem as much as anything.

Welcome back Magox.

FYI Gatorman is still an asshat.

I was speaking more broadly to the over regulation and taxes that their governments impose on their constituents, health insurance is one of the huge financial burdens that saddles them with debt and taxes. I'm not arguing against government involvement in healthcare but more so on the unintended affects of these costly programs on some of their economies.

Welcome back Magox.

Thanks

I'm a life long independent who leans toward a traditional Eisenhower Republicanism. Eisenhower made expanding unions one of the central tenants of his platform. Eisenhower was pro new deal even going as far to say any party who tries to get rid of social security will be voted out of office. And then there's the often quoted anti-military industrial complex quote. Bernie sounds like he is Eisenhower.

Congratulations, this post alone puts you in the running for the inaugural gatorette award.

The Europeans have enormous private and public pension liabilities as well.

And from me too - welcome back. Jail time?

He did have a massive infrastructure project that could never get through the right wingers in congress now

I was a Trump supporter until he went back on repealing NAFTA, CAFTA & the other free trade disasters. His comment I'll make them better through re-negotiating is not good enough for me. Sanders puts it bluntly. I think Sanders will do more to help workers.

If by help workers you mean crush businesses, eliminate jobs, and make it impossible to enjoy a middle class retirement, then yes.

Bernie Sanders is Right About One Thing

AP_136453449773-e1460065110955.jpg

.

If there is anything as false as Hillary’s “love and light” and “I’m just like you!” persona, it’s the absurd notion that she is in any way qualified to be president.

This woman has turned a marriage based on purely political reasons into a lackluster, scandal-ridden career, and wants you to vote for her. Because it’s time for a female, and hey, everyone, she’s a Clinton!

It’s amusing to see the Left implode a bit, since, let’s be honest, what has happened between their candidates hasn’t been very dramatic. Watching two white geriatrics debate is sleep-inducing. But on Tuesday and Wednesday, Hillary and Bernie decided to take shots at one another.

n Tuesday, Hillary insisted Bernie Sanders wasn’t qualified to be president. Sanders’ response on Wednesday included the following, as reported by The Daily Beast:

She has been saying lately that she thinks that I am not qualified to be president.

Well, let me, let me just say in response to Secretary Clinton: I do
n’t believe that she is qualified, i
f she is, through her super-PAC, taking tens of millions of dollars in special interest funds. I don’t think that you are qualified if you get $15 million from Wall Street through your super-PAC.

I don’t think you are qualified if you have voted for the disastrous war in Iraq. I don’t think you are qualified if you have supported virtually every disastrous trade agreement which has cost us millions of decent paying jobs.

While Bernie is right about Hillary’s cozy, hypocritical ties to Wall Street, he flatly contradicts himself with the last statement. Sanders supported both John Kerry, who voted for the Iraq AUMF, and Barack Obama, who voted for those trade deals. While these are good soundbites for the social justice warrior hipsters in his audience, there’s actually much more which disqualifies his opponent.

  • Her scandal-ridden, unethical years as an attorney, including being fired from the Watergate investigation.
  • Her scandal-ridden years in Arkansas before the White House (see: Whitewater).
  • The Clinton scandals once in the White House, such as Travelgate and Filegate.
  • Her disastrous healthcare proposal while First Lady.
  • Her tenure as Senator from New York, which she was not qualified for and during which she accomplished nothing.
  • Her time as Secretary of State, which, besides scandals, accomplished nothing.
  • The Benghazi scandal, which does makes a difference, since 4 Americans died under her watch.
  • The Clinton Foundation funds scandal.
  • The ongoing, FBI-investigated email scandal.

And that’s just a start. As we all know, Hillary doesn’t possess anything but the correct last name, the correct gender, a ruthless demeanor, and a lying disposition.

The woman has had her sights set on the White House – beyond that of First Lady – for quite some time. Even Bill Clinton said during his 1992 presidential campaign: “‘You get two for the price of one,’ indicating Hillary Clinton would act as his co-president.” This has been in the works for years, and Bill couldn’t be more excited, but that just might be due to the interns he would encounter as First Guy.

Businesses have already been crushed. Trump talked a good game but as he widened his lead and became the inevitable nominee he went soft on free trade deals. His tone changed like Hillary after her mid-March victories.

I honestly think Trump could be a better President than Sanders if he want back to his strong opposition to free trade agreements. Also his tax plan is very centrist. I like Cruz's plan more. Sanders while wrong on many issues was right IMO on; Iraq, Wall Street Bail Out, Panama Free Trade, NAFTA, minimum wage increase, and protecting 2nd amendment - gun manufacturers immunity. These reasons alone show Sanders can outflank Trump on populism. That's why Trump must go back to being anti-free trade.
