We have a really good coach, the culture is changing, the team is progressing. We just beat the Packers and are playing meaningfull football in late December. Late December!!!! Cash Posted December 16, 2014 Share Posted December 16, 2014 I don't think some of you are understanding something, the bills have to get someone off of their 53 man roster, not 46 man game day inactives. So in this case, I would say one of the most likely moves is sliding a guy from the roster to the IR, Like Wynn, Gragg, or as someone mentioned, If Gay is injured, he would be a legitimate candidate. It would be a horrible move to RELEASE Bryce Brown, despite is relative ineffectiveness this year, since we spent a 4th rounder on him next year, and he is our likely contingency plan for a leaving Spiller and aging Freddy. Good point, but to me there's really 2 questions, assuming CJ is able to play this week or next. First, whose roster spot does he take? I agree with the prevailing thought that Gragg or Wynn or someone is IR'd to make that roster spot. Second, if CJ can actually suit up, whose spot on the 46-man gameday active roster does he take? Based on early-season decisions, you'd think it would be Bryce Brown, but I wonder if Brown has shown enough to change that (doubtful) or if Marrone won't feel he can count on Spiller (more likely) and will choose to have 4 RBs active. It's really a two part question because someone has to be waived or put on IR before they consider who to make inactive with CJ up on the 46 for Sunday. I saw a suggestion from Joe Buscaglia (WGR) on Twitter that Gay was a candidate for IR to open a spot for Spiller on the roster. I wouldn't think the NFL wants teams placing uninjured players on INJURED reserve. I would not be surprised to learn he suffered torn labia, judging from the quality of kicks Sunday. Speaking of Bryce Brown. Am I the only one that cringes every time he runs the ball? I find myself yelling "Hold on to the Ball!". The way he carries it drives me crazy. Could inform him that if he is still available in the offseason we could bring him back. But I'd much rather see them utilize that new kid (Greys?) in both the FB and TE position.
