The same way we don't really know what is really going on with the Bucs or the Texans or the Cardinals. He will be back next year. The only way he won't be is if we lose both of the next two (and he still likely stays). Or the Pegulas and Whaley demand he gets a new OC and Marrone quits. That's unlikely, since it really wouldn't matter much as its Marrone's offense he's running. It's funny you say that because that sounds like Mularkey situation. Sure he may be a good guy but his football intelligence has been less than stellar to say the least !! Now i would more say that Whaley is the one that needs the praise but seeing as that was a Buddy hire & Marrone was a homer hire of Brandons i believe that is why the praise goes there . Besides Brandon needs to pump up his accomplishments to the new owner after the Toronto series debacle !! Ironically, that "debacle" as you describe it, is one of Brandon's accomplishments. It put nearly $80m in the team's coffers before a single down was played in Toronto. That's a business success no matter how you slice it, which is why RB will continue to run the business side of things if he chooses to stay. From his success with the Florida Marlins and throughout his tenure with the Bills, Brandon has demonstrated an acute business acumen in professional sports. GO BILLS!!! Can't remember who the interview was (might have been Peter King on Dan Patrick) but basically a good HC is someone who can hire a good staff and people want to work for. Marrone has his issues, but the staff he assembled, especially on defense, is awesome. Get this dude a decent QB and we are right back at the top. I really believe that HUH? Hackett is the worst play caller in the NFL hands down. I read some article in the Toronto Sun awhile back, I think it was a Kryk piece, where an independent source reported that 5300 or something like that more cars crossed the bridges on Sundays in the last couple years on average, which they related directly to more Canadian fans crossing to go watch Bills games. And independent sources estimate that 13,000 or 14,00 fans a game came from Canada. Maybe up to 20%. This wasn't coming from the Bills. First off, it's too early to tell if Coach Marrone has changed the culture. If we're good again next year and make the playoffs, then yeah. There are positive signs like 8 wins so far and we have not lost as many close games as we have in years past. As far as the quote above goes, I also heard someone talking about NFL coaching. It was made by Teddy Brew-ski on NFL LIve the other day. They weren't talking Bills, but some other team. The complaint was that they had guys in the wrong places and didn't handle their assignments. Sounds eerily similar to our offense. Teddy says that's a coaching problem. He didn't say it was a bad player problem. Presently the Bills offense is ranked the lowest it's been since 2010. Just one brutal stretch of NFL quarterbacking by Orton. Gee, ya think perhaps having Orton throw 57 times against a top 5 defense vs 16 rushes might have something to do with it? The Bills offense has been mostly one dimensional all season with the Bills OC forcing the QB to throw to carry the entire offense. The most experienced wide receiver on the team is 2nd year player Robert Woods. Considering Hackett had EJ throwing like crazy against SD, Houston. I suspect that if Jeff Tuel were the QB he would also be throwing the ball 40+ times a game. The Bills could bring in 15 mill a year Jay Cutler, and the results would be nearly the same on offense with all the passing this years team is doing 507 passing attempts vs 365 rushing....just lame. It's the EXACT same thing that the head of any company tries to do. He has been EXTREMELY successful at it especially when you factor in the inherent drawbacks of the market & stadium. It's mind boggling to me that people dont understand this. Think of RB as the top boss at wherever any of you guys work. What is that man or woman responsible for? How is their success measured? If you want to insist Russ Brandon is an abject failure on the football side, go right ahead; there's not much to argue, obviously.
