If (as advertised) it's a fair fight, then Tuel is winning.

I have decided to make something clear about my view after reading so much of this thread, it doesn't make anyone a troll because they liked what they saw in one player over another, in fact that's just childish to call someone that. I saw an excellent performance in one player, and a shaky one in another. I think Manuel has all the potential in the world to be a great player, and after what I saw in Tuel, I think he also has the potential to be great as well. I am not going into anything blindly about who I think would be the better QB based upon draft position, nor will I even say ione guy will fail, and the other be great after one pre-season game. It's a bunch of crap to blindly think either, or to bash anyone who wants to see the QB race to be fair and open. At this point neither guy is a sure bet, nothing in this league is.

It is most certainly a trolling thread, because the author states conclusively that Tuel is ahead in the fight among the QBs. That would indicate that the poster has been to every single practice in camp and has compared the three QB candidates side by side.

My guess is that he doesn't, and that's why he's been on the sidelines over the last day enjoying the show he created. If he's not a troll, then see above.

I fully expect a post about how Tuel has "it" or "that 'it factor," the last refuge of people who either have no evidence or are too easy to search for it.

So, if he has an opinion, then he is a troll? You have an opinion on his statement, Using your very own logic, that makes you a troll as well. foolish.

because he has made up an outlandish claim and offered no support of it all the while sitting on the side watching everyone get riled up.... yea, it sounds troll like.

now if you agree with the ops trolling, that doesnt automatically make you a troll, it just means you likely have poor judgement.

if the "opinion" expressed by the OP is outside of the bounds of most logical observers on the board, and meant to rile people up, then, yes.

Let's waste our time recapping:

1) the Bills spent heavy resources (#1 pick, guaranteed salary / bonus) on EJ Manuel

2) the Bills spent precious few resources (non-guaranteed salary, UDFA signing) on Jeff Tuel

3) EJ Manuel has been spending most of his time facing the first stringers and getting first string reps with the offense

4) Jeff Tuel has not.

5) EJ Manuel faced the first and second stringers in their one and only preseason game thus far

6) Jeff Tuel faced the third and fourth stringers in their one and only preseason game thus far.

7) Both QBs looked very good in different ways. EJ Manuel looked good running the offense in a high pressure situation against players that are more likely to be at the level of those he would face in a regular season game. Jeff Tuel beat the pants off of players who will probably not see much game action outside of ST.

8) We can be happy that both players played reasonably well.

9) We do not have the kinds of access to the players and their performances that the coaches do.

10) The coaches have not decided that Tuel's performance merits a shot at the starting position.

To believe otherwise on any of this stuff is trolling.

Just to give you an idea of how crazy Tuel-mania (or this Tuelishness?) has become:

About 3 weeks ago, I purchased an autographed Jeff Tuel Upper Deck rookie card....for a whopping 4.99 + 2.50 for shipping...total: $7.49 I was the only bidder.

Today, on EBAY, the same card (or ones just like it) have bids going up to $43.00 (22 bids) and rising! Another for $41.00 (7 bids)

Both have 3 or 4 days left to bid...crazy! So, if this is a joke, not everyone, it appears, is in on it!

And another thing. If this is supposed to be "fair" then what about Kolb? He's got 100 fewer reps with the 1s than EJ does. What about Kolb? Obviously, we should sit EJ for the Vikes game, give Tuel and his minions of fans the satisfaction of playing the first half and Kolb can have the 2nd half. By many accounts coming from TC Kolb is the most polished QB of the bunch right now. He deserves a chance too.

This is reminiscent of "Cheers," when Frasier got Woody involved in politics as a study to see if he could garner a few votes without having any qualifications ... and Woody ending up winning the election.

Hilarious.

Im not saying tuel should get a shot at the starter.....

Because he went undrfted is irrelevent in who is the starter.

In terms of track record on Tuel---Im much more familiar than many on this board by my living in the same state as Washington State Univ where he started. Had he gone to a bigger school in football he likely would have gotten more exposure and thus he likely wouldnt have fallen out of somehting like the 3rd-5th round.

Many draft experts preseason last year had him as a 3rd-5th round pick. His draft stock fell in part because his skill set doesnt quite fit in with Mike Leach and he had is top WR kicked off the team mid season.

My notes on Tuel pre-draft: broken collarbone in 1st gm 2011, came back midseason, reinjured, inj dropped him here. good athlete good arm, good acc, best year as soph: 2,780 yds and 18 TD. Won Casino Bowl.

I had him ranked UDFA #407. Full disclosure, I had Meeks at #400 LOL

The worst part about this crap is that when, inevitably, EJ struggles (as all rookie QBs do) these types of posters will come out of the woodworks saying Tuel should start.

Brace yourself. That's EXACTLY what will happen.

GO BILLS!!!

It's not hard to see that coming. It happens every year.

I do expect that if Tuel makes any positive plays and no major boneheaded ones, that there will be a handful of posters and whiner line callers advocating for Tuel as the #1. :D
