Chief Loves Bills
Take the time to watch the game in slow motion. Howard got killed. Both of the sacks that Fitz took that were game changing came from the fact that Howard got embarrassed. The rest of line looked fine. We need a RT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bills44
KC's LDE (Hali?) was regularly putting his hands in Howard's face. Figured they'd call it at least once, but no such luck

Fan in San Diego
Yes I was watching Cordero Howard getting blown up on more than half of the plays. His horrendous RT play cost us the game basically, Fitz was running for his life because Cordero was a turnstile today. Time for Worro to play, lkets see what he can do. BillsVet
Howard was manhandled all day and has almost no ability in the phone booth. They can't run outside because the OT's are so bad. They must find 2 new OT's ASAP, and acquisitions like Cornell Green make the position worse.
wnyguy
Seemed to me that Fitzpatrick was pressured up the middle just as much as the outside. All in all our whole OL had a bad one today.

Howard simply played poorly all day. Hali owned him, without a doubt. Not a good sign. His game against the Ravens was journeyman like, but the quick drops and throws helped tremendously. Today, Fitz wasn't as quick and Howard's play was far more noticeable.
Chief Loves Bills
I thought there was a good deal of pressure all around as well. But look back at the game and when it really counted Howard got smoked.

wnyguy
Well did we think that Howard was the second coming of Anthony Munoz or is he a second string guard playing tackle?
silvermike
Hali's a great rusher, but Howard looked like his own grandmother out there today. Those guys can't block.

When Peters was traded and Butler retired, that set us back on the oline about 3 years. No surprises here. Butlers retirement had no answer. Just pain. Howard was manhandled all day and has almost no ability in the phone booth. They can't run outside because the OT's are so bad. They must find 2 new OT's ASAP, and acquisitions like Cornell Green make the position worse. Won't happen this year. All the good ones have teams, and they ain't givin' 'em up to us. They'll get better as they get more game reps (and we lose more games). Just the way it is for now. an extended OTA/Preseason. that is all it is.. sucks to be a bills fan. Right, there aren't any OT's sitting on the street going to help now. But this is what happens (Cowboys too) when teams don't invest high picks in OT's, specifically OLT. You can't get away with throwing late rounders and UDFA's not named pre-unmotivated Jason Peters out there. Buffalo's OT's are the worst in the NFL. BuffaloBillsMagic1
Looked to me like Cornwell Green was dressed inHowards's uniform today.. Worst Tackle play by any team in NFL. Merideth is pituful as well. Just watch him not do anything on running plays. wood has to be slowest pulling gfuard I have ever seen. Wood should be back at C. They must find 2 new OT's ASAP, and acquisitions like Cornell Green make the position worse. Two tackles and a TE would help. Cornell Green is hurt and was lousy. Kirk Chambers was rightfully cut. Jamon Meredith played himself right out of the NFL. Leaving us with Cordero Howard, a UDFA guard playing right tackle. That is how bad the FO screwed up the off season. I sure hope Nix does not sleep through next years free agency.
Dan
Be prepared to be called a negative A hole and an idiot for saying this. Thats what happened to me last week. Incorrect. Last week you talked like a drunken frat boy saying Howard was flat on his face half the day... which was wrong. This week, Howard was abused routinely. Hence, criticism is justified and warranted. Paup 1995MVP
Most of the pressure came from the outside. Tamba Hali abused both OT's all day because they both are not NFL caliber. I totally agree. Howard was terrible today. The guy has NO Business starting in an NFL game. Fitzie was running for his life most of the game because of Howard. It is a joke that we have guys like Howard and Kelsay on the roster, let alone starting. We play with a lot of heart, but a lot of the roster including the starters are not NFL caliber, let alone NFL starters. Nix brought all of this on by refusing to bring in Offensive lineman with much ability. Very rarely do you see a starting NFL OT get just jacked up. But Howard has absolutely no leverage to stonewall his man. He is a very bad player. And Bell is not much better.

John from Riverside
You dont even know what the protection was on that play with the move to the inside..... John from Riverside
That's it? One pressure and Fitz "almost" got killed, but didn't? Exactly The fact is D. Bell has been consistantly good and steady this year....who did a pretty darn good job up to this point. His man very seldom gets close the QB on the pass rush and the left side has a better run blocking average then the right side. We need a legit RIGHT TACKLE.....then they need to move Wood to center where he belongs. This will protect him a bit on his obvious lack of mobility at this point. If we had someone playing on the Right side the way Bell is playing on the Left nobody would even be talking about our OT's right now
vincec
OL got worked, no question. It was easy to pick out Howard, but there was no running game and consistent pressure on the QB with very little blitzing needed. It's tough for skill players to work under those conditions. BillsVet
That's it? One pressure and Fitz "almost" got killed, but didn't? How many hits does it take to knock out a starting QB? That Ole job Bell pulled against Hali is what OT's never should do regardless of whether the QB got killed or didn't. Howard was destroyed all day (cue the rookie reference) and Bell after 2.5 NFL seasons is slow footed, weak in run blocking, and takes too many penalties. Then again, expecting homers to know what a real OT looks like would be hard. They haven't had a legitimate NFL OT since 2008.

Howard got manhandled today, and received poor grade last week as well from Pro Football Focus game charters(i think something like a -7.3), even though he played OK from appearances. Gailey even alluded to that the next day that he didn't grade out very well, but he did OK
