  1. Personally, I don't care what other teams would be willing to pay him if he were a UFA. Or if there is a market for his services. He has demonstrated clearly and repeatedly that he is a mediocre QB (at best). If we could keep him as a placeholder/backup at $7m per year, AWESOME. Sign me up. But, keeping him at the salary demanded in the extension and not addressing the position with an attempt to approve on mediocre is not acceptable to me. I would tell TT's agent we are not picking up the contract and offer a more reasonable deal. If he declines (as I would think he would), Ilet Tyrod walk. At that point I would try to acquire Garrapolo. If that fails try to get a Quality veteran starter via trade (Romo, Brees, Rivers). Beyond that, go after Cutler (UFA) or Bradford (Trade), If this all fails then I would sign a guy like Hoyer/Keenum/McCown to come in and compete with Cardale and I would draft the best possible QB we can get in Rd1 or 2.
  2. It is in the terms of the contract, the $27.5m bonus plus $3m+ of his 2018 salary are guaranteed for injury (both football related and non-football related injury). So if he chops of his hand while snow blowing his driveway, the Bills owe him $30m+ guaranteed. Who in the hell wrote that contract? They should be fired right now. Personally, I would not let him see the field again this year. Not only in games, but practices too (and the weight room). The need to keep him healthy so they can cut him. They may not lose money, but it would still kill their cap for 2017 and 2018
  3. Doesn't it seem like a smart business man would have done that while he was in process of acquiring the team so they could hit the ground running from day one? Why waste 2 1/2 season? Although he did wait 2.5 yrs to blow up the Sabres front office.
  4. I doubt that you'll get as much as you think. I would bet that the trade would include future conditional picks based on his performance and whether or not the team acquiring him signs to to a new contract beyond 2017.
  5. I don't know who to hire for the job, but you are 100% right. Clean out everybody in the front office besides the owner. EVERYBODY. Hire someone to run the football team because the Pegulas might be smart people, they might be nice people and I am sure they are excellent business people, they have NO IDEA HOW TO RUN AN NFL TEAM AND BUILD A WINNER. Hire someone and get the hell out of the way. And don't try to reach back into the glory days and bring someone in (Kelly, Reich, Polian, etc). All new blood is needed. No remnants of the past should remain.
  6. Zero chance I would like TT take another snap and risk injury. I would not even let him practice or work out.
  7. Given that there really aren't many other quality options out there, I would definitely be interested in acquiring Jimmy G. I would offer something like a 4th this year and a conditional pick next year that can be as high as a 2 if he plays well and we re-sign him to a new contract.
  8. Yeah. That was the point. He is a pending UFA. He will not be cut. His contract will expire.
  9. If Watkins and Woods play, it does take away any excuse Taylor has for his struggles. He has all of his weapons, now he needs to get it done.
  10. If the Bills beat the Steelers, all it means is that they are still alive and have 3 more opportunities to keep winning and keep their playoff hopes alive. They must win out to have ANY chance. A Pittsburgh win will extend the season. It will not answer any other questions with any certainty. It is an opportunity for Tyrod to have a strong game and an opportunity for the defense to be more consistent. But nothing more than that.
  11. I hope we will all 4 games with Tyrod but I wonder if he will suddenly develop an "injury" after another loss or two and not be able to play *cough *cough.
  12. I guarantee you that EJ will not be cut by the Bills this offseason.
  13. agreed. Leaving Carr untouched in the pocket, what do you expect from the secondary?
  14. In my personal opinion, this is a pointless conversation. I don't believe there is any chance at all that Rex is not back next year. There might be a tiny chance that Whalley is let go, but it is doubtful. I think he and Rex have a good working relationship and I think he can make the case for he and his team finding talent in the draft and free agency. And the injury excuse is strong. I also feel that they will stick with Tyrod. Although I personal would not. Just my two pennies. I might be completely wrong. It's happened before. LOL.
  15. I fully agree that the QB is not good enough. We need to move on. That said, the defense got shredded in the second half. I think they only stopped Oakland from scoring once. That's not good enough for what is supposed to be a great defense.
  16. It's both. The offense handed the defense a 15 points lead and the defense could not hold on to the lead. But, Tyrod also played like absolute garbage. Terrible accuracy, poor decision making, bad reads, bad throws, ETC. Tyrod has shown that he is not a suitable solution at QB. If Tyrod had been able to lead the offense to a few first downs and, god forbid, complete some passes and maybe answer Oakland's offense in the second half, maybe the defense could've stiffened and held on. Bottom line to me is that we need a new QB. We cannot afford to pay Tyrod the money in his new contract while letting valuable pieces of the defense leave in order to pay Tyrod.
  17. I love Murph and I enjoy his show with Donald Jones. It is nice to have a local sports show that actually does some background work and books guests and talks about sports. I don't need him to be bitter or nasty. I can form my own opinions. I think he's great
  18. While I agree with you that Tyrod is not good enough, EJ is worse. They will stick with Tyrod unless he gets hurt.
  19. I'm going to say Buffalo wins an ugly one. 19-16
  20. Let Tyrod walk and back up the Brinks truck for Kirk Cousins.
  21. I like the out of the box thinking. And I think there are some cases where they already do this in a limited capacity. I would not mind seeing a little more. That said, Tyrod either needs to develop into the closer that we need or they need to find a better answer at the position. I don't think EJ is that answer and I am quickly getting to the point of accepting that Tyrod is not either.
  22. I don't expect them to win either game, but If I had to pick, I would say they have a better shot of beating New England at home vs beating Seattle in their stadium. Seattle is nearly unbeaten at home over the last few years. The Bills have played the Pats close in recent year and have had chances to win. If they can get a turnover or two, they might have a shot. I read that the Pats are the only team to make it to Week 7 without a pick. Hopefully that changes this week.
