  1. Tyrod is not good enough. He's a different variety of Ryan Fitzpatrick, except his INT's are 3 and outs. Still a turn over, just less immediately hurtful. Tyrod (and Fitz) are both decent. If they get good support and get out to a lead, they are fine. If the defense is not stellar and they get behind, it's "Game Over". The second Miami passed us in the Fourth Qtr, the game ended. Tyrod is not the long term answer and I would absolutely not pick up that contract.
  2. That all makes perfect sense but how would you explain that there is no drop off in their win percentage when he is out? Take the Cowboys. Up until Dak showed up, Dallas had something like 1 win in games that Romo did not play over the last several years. The Pats still win just as consistently without Brady and the QBs who have played in his absence are certainly not great. Cassel moved on and was horrendous everywhere else. Maybe Brady is simply the best "system QB" pf all time.
  3. I understand and I don't suggest that Brady is not great or that Alex Smith is as good. I'm just suggesting that he is fortunate where he landed and that his accomplishments are helped by having a great team around him with excellent coach and I'm sure the cheating helped too.
  4. Right. But the point is, what would Alex Smith's stat line look like if he were in Brady's place. Probably similar. I believe Brady benefits from his situation, that's all I'm saying.
  5. Does the fact that the other QBs that stepped in while he was injured performed at a very high level as well and have as good or better W/L record make the argument that he is a system QB hold any weight? He is a better version of Alex Smith. He succeeds in a perfect offensive system which is loaded with weapons and has tremendous coaching.
  6. You can disagree and dislike it if you want, but the guy is right. The other teams in the AFC that used to challenge them are down this year. Denver still looks good. But that's about it. The Bills are still pretenders until they actually beat the *Pats in a meaningful game. With the schedule they have right now, it looks like the *Pats can cruise easily to 13-14 maybe 15 wins. Everyone here can puff their chests out and talk all the tough talk they want, NE has owned the Bills and there's no reason to think that has changed unless they Bills go out and prove it. It will be interesting to find out if it is truly a New Era of Bills football or more of the same.
  7. seems that puts them over the roster limit. They should be fined. (just kidding, of course)
  8. Enjoy the win. Don't look forward to facing Goliath until we have to. No win is guaranteed. We could just as easily lose the next two and have OBD up in flames. So let's slow down and take it a week at a time. BUT, even if your dream scenario plays out, that NE game is not all that important on the schedule. That would be a game we are expected to lose and would be a loss that would easily be overcome if the Bills win the other games they need to. Would it be great to win, ABSOLUTELY. Would it be season ending if we don't - NOT BY A LONG SHOT.
  9. What is the point? They are 3-1 with their player. We are 2-2 with out team. So what?
  10. No offense, but if the best Tyrod can play only gets us 16 points, I don't know how many games we can win if we are not facing an injured, scout team QB.
  11. Again, I understand the tie breaker scenarios. My point is: Lets say, we lose this game and end the season at 9-7 and in a tie break situation, had we won the game we would not have been in the tie break situation because we would be 10-6. Conversely, if we had won the game and still end up at 9-7 and in a tie break situation, the win still helped us. Had we lost, we'd be 8-8. It's really not that hard to understand. This win in no way hurts our chances to make the playoffs, I promise you.
  12. Sure, but the win removes you from the tie breaking scenario. That's the point you are missing. A win only hurts us in a draft pick scenario where this one unexpected victory drops us a spot in the draft and costs us an elite QB (see Roethlisberger, Ben)
  13. 1000% agree. That's why we are in Row 1 of the Upper deck
  14. The same could be said for you "If you want to stand, stay home in your living room". Not everybody wants to, or has the ability to stand for the entire game for no reason. I've seen people at the game standing just to be annoying to those people behind them. It's called common courtesy. Look it up.
  15. the script is so familiar. It's the same bad movie we've seen over and over. This one is pretty easy to write. We struggle a few more weeks. At 0-4, they bench Tyrod and put in EJ (or Cardale). We head into the prime time game against Seattle with 2 wins or so. Get embarrassed on national TV by the Seahawks and Rex gets the axe the next day and they name an Interim HC for the rest of the year. Probably Anthony Lynn.
  16. Looking at the schedule, it's very difficult to find many team that we would beat playing the way we are right now. I would be hard pressed to pick 5 wins from the remaining schedule. Which sucks. I'd rather be dead last than in the middle of the pack.
  17. It really all comes down to the QB. We need to improve the OL. But Tyrod needs to execute better or they need to find a replacement. Tyrod looked decent last year, we need to see if he can improve on that. Week 1 was a disaster. If that trend continues, then its clear that we still need a QB. But I am not ready for a complete Blow up and rebuild. I think we have talent. I question the medical staff approving players who already have injuries (Shaq and Listenbee). I question the trade up for Sammy when comparable talent was available without trading up. But overall, I think they have acquired some solid talent over the last 3-4 years. Like I said, its all about the QB. It's on Tyrod to perform and do it quickly or they need to move on.
  18. He has a back problem that hampered him in camp. Most likely going to be a season long issue.
  19. Who cares what the "experts" are predicting? Nobody what anybody thinks will happen right now, they are all guessing. That's why they play the games and that's what makes the NFL interesting. There's always a team or two that is way better than most people expected. Maybe that will be the Bills this year. Maybe not. Nobody knows. GO BILLS Personally, I think they will be in the group of 5-6 teams fighting for wildcard spots (Pitt, Cin, Oak, KC, JAX, NYJ, BUF, etc). Based on their schedule, I expect them to fall just short. But would not be shocked at all if they get in.
  20. I'm feeling a big Bills victory. I think the Bills will score a bunch and I don't think Baltimore will. I'm thinking 27-10 or something like that.
  21. They can carry over unused cap space from year to year, so this could be an effort to stockpile cap space for next year so they can use the Franchise Tag on Gilmore without it really harming them cap-wise. That really gives them two full seasons to see if Gilmore can stay healthy, if they can come to a reasonable, long-term deal with him and/or if Darby develops to a point where they can walk away from Gilmore.
