  1. Quick, someone get on the phone with his agent and get him a $5M signing bonus before he decides that he is really not that into playing football any longer.
  2. Several inaccurate / sub par throws. Some wind. Some good coverage. Some pressure. Some playing extra conservative to avoid the pick. Diggs would have caught 50% of those. ?
  3. 1. Knox's angry run 2. Renegade - after learning the story of how they practiced all week with that song. 3. Allen's fumblerooski pick-up and eventual Turkey day win 4. Beasley's TD against Dallas 5. Allen's TD catch against Houston
  4. COACH: What's your greatest weakness? TUA: Hmm, good question. I'd have to say that sometimes I am too honest. COACH: I don't think that's a weakness. TUA: I don't give a damn what you think.
  5. How is Reggie Bush in the middle of this list? 12 carries for -3 yards.
  6. In this video, Taylor seems to break away for a touchdown every play. Sign me up.
  7. Just watched a 3 minute Dugger draft video, which was not super impressive. SI has him rated at #56. I'd be a little surprised if he was our pick in the 2nd round.
  8. Last year, the 49ers had a good formula. Get three good backs because you may need them all throughout the season. * Coleman * Breida * Mostert To my eye, Singletary compares to Mostert. I think we'll draft a guy. It's possible Christian Wade learns how to take a handoff and steps in. It's possible Yeldon sticks. It's possible we sign a FA. I can't wait to see what unfolds.
  9. The waiver system runs during the season, which is mid-July through the end of the season. There are no waivers this time of year. Not sure what the rules are today, but in 2015 the waiver period runs from the first business day after the Super Bowl through the end of the NFL’s regular season. During the season, the claim period is 24 hours. During the off season, it may be longer. It applies to those with less than four years in the league. https://operations.nfl.com/updates/the-players/nfl-waiver-system-overview/
  10. As a trade, Diggs does not count against any comp formula. As we signed 7 FAs so far and lost 3, we will very likely not be getting any comp picks next year.
  11. Curious, which of these guys are projected to be below average starters this year? 2019 PFF grades enclosed (yes, the folks at PFF may not be the most accurate graders). I personally think continuity is the way to go. IMO, Ford should develop. Dawkins (73) Spain (55) Morse (66) Feliciano (64) Ford (52) PFF Player Grading Scale: 100-90 Elite, 89-85 Pro Bowler, 84-70 Starter, 69-60 Backup, 59-0 Replaceable
  12. Agree. On this flip side, the brass must really like Butler, because based on production alone, this is the type of guy you can wait on and get at a better price. So I guess I need to wait and see what unfolds in order to judge the brilliance of this move.
  13. I think we're good on the offensive line with at least average starters across the board. RT was a weakness at times last year, but I believe Ford will step up. We have proven depth and some young talent as well. Overall, we don't have any dominant players, but we don't have any glaring weaknesses either. Adding Diggs will help with the cover 0 nonsense teams were running against us in the critical 3rd and long situations. The two remaining weaknesses now is the lack of one more quality running back and that we don't have a game wrecker rushing the passer.
  14. I'm not a huge fan of the value of this trade for the Bills, but I do like Diggs for this team. He should make a difference and you cannot definitively say the same about a WR picked in the middle or later part of the 1st round. As far as a comparison, the two moves are not quite in the same ball park. Watkins - Drafted #4 overall, by-passing local hero Khilil Mack, and using multiple 1st round picks to move up. Diggs - Essentially used the draft capital equivalent to a mid first round pick. Reasonable contract at $12M per year.
  15. C. Nice player. Great fit. Steep price. Bird in hand. This move saves roughly $6M per year based on the difference of market value and current contract, which is on par with a 1st rounder. Throwing in the 4th and 5th and 4th rounders that we could have used to trade up for good players in earlier rounds makes this a worse than average trade for Buffalo. Knowing that Hopkins was had for essentially a 2nd rounder, that Diggs was not going to stay in Minnesota, and that this draft is deep in WR, makes this a GREAT trade for the Vikings.
  16. Not likely this year, where Star's contract is now fully guaranteed for 2020.
  17. But Maybin had an incredibly fast first step. He got off the ball and into the art studio in a blink.
  18. I think the Bills brass got this mostly right. Not having Lamar Jackson on the board at all due to his play style seems odd. But from their point of view, they probably felt good about Daboll's offense.
  19. Milano's buddy hanging out with coach McD 20 years in the future.
  20. Since 2000... Worst pick: Maybin over Orakpo Honorable mentions: Trade ups for McCargo, Losman, Watkins MgGahee (inj) Merriman Best trade down: 2001 - Traded down a couple picks with Tampa Bay and landed Nate Clements. Then traded down the extra pick and landed Travis Henry - a pick that ended up being quite fruitful - and Brandon Spoon.
  21. I'm not a fan of cutting these guys unless we have replacements that are better or cheaper. But cutting Kroft and Lotulelei would add $13M to 2021 cap space, it's worth considering. It would have a negligible impact on cap space this year, assuming players on small deals replace them (see Knox, Corey Liuget, 2019). Murphy's contract is effectively $8M in 2020 and he is a free agent in 2021. With all position groups, the Bills will try to balance having veteran leadership with having better?, cheaper, and younger players. They are in good cap space to be able to make the right decisions.
  22. Trades work out better for teams that are working the comp pick formulas. A team like the Seahawks can trade a 1st round pick for a guy like Clowney. Then if he leaves after one year, they will at least get back a 3rd rounder. Same for the Patriots (Sanu) and the Ravens (Peters). The same trade to a team not getting comp picks would effectively cost that team more. I personally am hoping for AJ Green plus a defensive end. Dunlap is not a splashy player, but is an extremely solid edge setter and plays with gap responsibility. The other defensive ends listed would improve our team. For the reason stated above, I would not be a fan of trading picks. Player for player trades work out when good players don't fit on their current team.
  23. It's a 2 year $22M contract. If it was Gurley and a 2nd for nothing, I would do it.
