  1. Refuse to shower for another 14 weeks, on principle.
  2. Tough crowd, but where did I insult the child of Ferrel Edmunds? I want a merciless LB corps. So, tell me what it means. You don't either, btw, b/c it's always capitalized EDGE old people trying to get stuff. )
  3. The NFL is trying to kill defense, and of course QB is the #1 position, but try to tell me there is any CB, EDGE... whatever the hell that is, DT, OT, WR(Maybe Jerry Rice excepted, maybe), Safety, TE, Guard or Punter, who changes the game for an entire team the way a truly dominant MLB does. LB's are the football players out there- the men amongst boys, if you will. They keep the prima donnas in check, the DT's in check. MLB's aren't the answer to everything on defense, but they're the ones I want setting the tone. Outside of great roles played by great players, Bruce, Deion, Reggie, the truly intimidating defenses have been anchored by the linebackers. Try it in your head without looking... list the great DL, LB's and DB's, then write them down. $42.76 on the LB's.
  4. Sounds like something an ostrich could warble through its sand-packed jowls.
  5. Best Player Available, for my particular team. Straight BPA is every bit as inflexible as a coach who won't play to his players' strengths. If you have a chance to find a player you can build an identity around, you take him no matter your need, but if that's not the case, you take the player that most makes your team better.
  6. No, a scheme doesn't hold a dominant player back. It gives excuses. And probably an excuse to write an overthunked article.
  7. Okay, so I had only intermittently checked TSW over the years, but I saw a reasonable number of posts along the way. From what I saw in the past, Tim Graham was a pretty solid whit-man on this site, and now a bunch of posters hate him as though he's a puppy rapist. It looked like John Wawrow (sp?) stepped in, and has mostly disappeared as well. From everything I saw, these two were somewhat better than UDFA's, but run out of Dodge. What am I missing?
  8. Yes please. No idea why the Raiders ever let him go.
  9. Don't lie to me, Argentinaaaaaa
  10. Best - Jean Luc Ponty/Stanley Clark/Bela Fleck. Under the Yosemite stars. Something magical there. Honorable mention to several Mudhoney and John Prine shows.. and the Reverend Horton Heat. Pissing off Thurston Moore Worst - David Crosby backed by his son's band Bucket list will be catching Keith Moon live
  11. You are dang right- that Mets team was all border HOF, and the Dodgers had no right getting through them. I think I still hate David Cone haha
  12. You see, Steptide, this is what I'm talking about- people may 'cheer' for these 'other teams', but in their hearts they know the Dodgers are the best, most willing AND humble organization in baseball. And this is why baseball is such a great game.
  13. As most of the folks in this thread already know, the Dodgers are the greatest team in MLB history, but to help you gain a better appreciation for the game, I thought I'd include this clip- it involves the greatest moment in the history of the game, called by the greatest announcer in the history of the game... if this doesn't help ya understand it, I just don't know what will. )
  14. Don't really like any of this. Didn't notice football until HS, didn't pay attention once he got to college. Full of regrets and milkshakes. I'd pass
  15. J-E-S-T J-E-S-T SUCK SUCK SUCK
  16. One hit wonder- not a process type. )
  17. Curt Warner... not the QB, Tony Dorsett, Christian Okoye i think of Wendell Tyler mostly as a Ram, and he did fumble a lot. He carried the ball sooo loose- great at bursting through traffic, then he'd just drop the call in open field haha
  18. Same one, but he was the most fragile player in Tecmo Bowl history... not even close. Just wondering if anyone else remembered him always getting carted off and on IR. Tough crowd
  19. I wasn't around for Jim Brown and Gale Sayers... or OJ, so I can't speak to all time, but Earl Campbell was just a monster on the field. I'm sure every DB, and linebacker, in the league dreaded Houston Oilers week while he was playing. Side shout out to Joe Cribbs. Any Bills fan who doesn't know how good this guy was should look him up, pure electricity in his prime. Willis McGahee dreampt about being as good as Cribbs.
  20. Any relation to Eric Metcalf? ... promising player, but couldn't last a single play in TB. Another season would start for the Browns, and first play Metcalf would get carted off haha. If injuries are a concern, I'll have to defer to Tecmo on this on- so please just no
