There is also a lot less you need to develop in a vet backup Andy Reid has the same model his entire career. Even back to Donovan McNabb he had Doug Pederson, Carson Wentz, Matt Moore, Chad Henne All failed starters with lots of starts. It’s a good model Milton has everything but the intangibles. Well yeah, you don't hire a 70 year coach to build for the future. The Raiders need a playoff appearance and a return to respectability. The easiest way to do that is hire a proven steady coach and a steady QB on an otherwise, pretty good roster

Love Frank. But he was fired in season from his last two jobs. Bryce Young looked horrendous under him but really started to show something this year. The Colts were a mess under his tenure except for the year they had Luck and Rivers I hope he does well at Stanford, but lets not pretend this is some crazy coup for a legendary coach

No Should they. They have won their division 5 years in a row (made the playoffs in 6 consecutive seasons), been to two AFC championship games, and won a playoff game in the last 5 seasons.
