  1. That's why I hated the trade. They had questionable quarterbacking back then. Then they hire a coach who wants to play ground-and-pound. Same with all the money thrown at Clay and they don't throw to him.
  2. I remember Rex saying somebody stepped on Sammy's foot during walk through last Friday and that player has been released. Based on the timing it must've been Chris Martin. An already sore foot stepped on by an O-lineman likely made it worse.
  3. Reading between the lines, do we get Spiro and Wilcotts again??!!
  4. It wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!!
  5. Pizza isn't good food? Your choice of toppings could give you multiple food groups. You've got your bread, dairy and vegetables to begin with. Anchovies would give you fish. Hawaiian with pineapple gives you fruit.
  6. Looks like the Bills found a good impersonator for Edelman as a WR this week in Ed Eagan. Reading his bio, he's a 5-11 white wide receiver with quick feet who sounds a lot like Edelman. Should help in practice this week in preparation for Sunday's game.
  7. LOL! My dad never put money in the bank because he didn't want to pay taxes on the interest, back when you got any.
  8. Yes, I am not a betting man but it's tempting to now throw some money at the current odds of Pats going 16-0. Then Eli can knock them off in the Super Bowl again. Might also put some down on Pats winning in Foxboro but there probably wouldn't be much return.
  9. Roman was the tight ends coach at Stanford, where the TE was a big part of their offense. Same thing in SF where he was OC but Vernon Davis wasn't used much in Roman's last season there so there is a precedent.
  10. He had 2 that were short in the 4th Qtr: a 26 yarder early in the 4th and a 25 yarder late.
  11. What I'm noticing around the NFL appears to be possible side effects of limited offseason team activities, reduced practices with pads and teams not playing starters in preseason games. This affects the offenses more with the reduced reps. There are several teams who usually have potent offenses that aren't clicking yet, like Green Bay and Jacksonville. For the Packers, it seemed the preseason loss of Jordy Nelson affected them as he was their deep threat. He's returned but not quite 100% so that's a factor but Aaron Rodgers is not as sharp and accurate as usual. For the Jags, the prolific 2015 passing offense led by QB Blake Bortles and receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns has not done much in the 1st 2 games. Now, for the Bills, they had the issue of Sammy Watkins still recovering from his 2015 injury plus the team's decision to not play Shady McCoy in the preseason games. Tyrod also didn't play a lot in the preseason so with all of these factors, it's not a surprise the offense is not clicking. Add to this the surprisingly poor play of the offensive line, the late and supposed poor play calling and it's really not fair to say that Tyrod has regressed after only 2 games.
  12. Same thing with CJ Spiller. After he was drafted, half the clips I saw of him scoring long TDs were on passes to him out of the backfield. He'd run a wheel route so a LB had to pick him up and it was a mismatch. Splitting him out wide, he was picked up by a DB and didn't have the advantage. Hitting him on a screen pass wasn't as effective because he had to stop or slow down and he tended to make bad decisions.
  13. I had recorded this show on the NFL Network called Up to the Minute the day Roman was fired but forgot to watch it until today. Man, Charlie Casserly, Ian Rapoport, Mike Silver and others did not hold back. The consensus was they liked Anthony Lynn but didn't understand the Roman firing. Casserly said if Rex liked Lynn so much, why didn't he hire him over Roman to begin with. Silver, a Bay Area guy, said Roman made Tyrod a Pro Bowler like he did Kaepernick and you fire him? Casserly also added comments about Tyrod, saying he's not an NFL starter you can win with. Not surprising, he believes the Bills will continue to face defenses playing like the 1st 2 games, continuing to expose Taylor's limitations as a passer.
  14. Chan Gailey was the best OC for the Bills in the last 10 years. He may have been the head coach and Mankins may have been named the OC but Chan was really the OC. He's showing his talents again with the Jets, like the way they carved up the Bils defense.
  15. Solomon Wilcotts had pointed out in Game 1 that all of the patterns the Bills were running were stop patterns, none to hit the receiver in stride. That makes them easier to defend and tackle the receiver. And No on picking up Taylor's option.
  16. You picked mine, although I wasn't there. It still was awesome to dominate the Raiders the way they did to get to their first Super Bowl.
  17. Marrone also had a contract clause which paid him for his last year of his contract even though he quit.
  18. Maybe they're trying to piss of Ryan so he'll quit. Then they wouldn't have to pay him the rest of his contract.
  19. The reporting structure is a new NFL trend. Successful teams like Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Seattle and the NY Giants also operate this way.
  20. Mularkey and Marrone both had seasons with winning records, the only ones since Wade Phillips second season in 1999, the last playoff season. The 2004 season under Mularkey saw the most dominant stretch of games we've ever seen, with 6 consecutive wins by 10 pts or more, Four of those were by 20 pts or more. Unfortunately that season will be remembered for the final game, which broke the streak with the loss to the Pittsburgh 2nd stringers, where a win would've put them in the playoffs.
  21. He'd have strong control because nobody would want to make him mad.
  22. Remember when the Bills started a season 5-1 under Jauron and he got an extension? It must be an extension jinx.
  23. I'm surprised Chris Palmer wasn't also fired. He has no ties to Rex. Roman brought him with him from SF. He's been a head coach and offensive coordinator but let's promote the guy with no OC experience.
  24. That play they ran twice with both Manuel and Tyrod on the field and motioning out to the wide receiver position and back under center was ridiculous. What was that motion supposed to accomplish? It was 4th and short. You think the Jets cared who was under center? Maybe Roman thought he'd confuse them with such a dumb alignment?
