  1. If we're talking Bills, you can't forget Mike Williams (the OT from Texas) NFL: you can't leave out JeMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf.
  2. And the Bills can also talk Peyton Manning out of retirement to be Romo's backup! I'd rather go for Kirk Cousins, who will be a free agent.
  3. I see he didn't make the final 24. Veteran's committee might be his best shot. I clicked on the link to see the 2016 nominees and saw that there was a fan vote so I went there. I guess because the next vote drops the list to 15, it said Vote for 15. I reviewed the list and initially the only name that jumped out at me as HOF worthy was Terrell Owens. I clicked on Vote and it said Vote for 14 more. I could make a case that a few more may be HOF worthy like Roger Craig, John Lynch and Terrell Davis but most of the players I would consider as just Very Good. I believe the NFL is on the road to a watering down of the HOF by voting too many players in. I should've been able to vote for only who I wanted to that I thought was worthy. They vote 6 modern day players in each year plus one from the veterans committee plus contributors. What if there aren't 6 worthy players? Baseball did it right a couple years ago where because of who became eligible, including those with steroid accusations, nobody was voted in.
  4. There was also the part about Rodgers having committed to being a groomsman for a friend's wedding and then sending him a text the day before that he couldn't make it. Again, we don't know the whole story but that doesn't sound like a good move.
  5. Hello, have we already forgotten about Matt Ryan? That's because they have the "great" Isiah Crowell.
  6. Wait a minute. Does that mean you're saying the Bills lose to them? How about this: what do you think would happen if Cleveland won only one game and it was against the Bills?
  7. So we have to ask the question why the team is inconsistent? Is it game planning that stays similar despite the different offenses of the opponents or do the game plans change and some are effective and others not? Do the opponents change their offensive game plans, like Belechick, and the defensive game plan is not prepared for it and/or the coaching doesn't make good in-game adjustments? All of the above is related to coaching. Other reasons for inconsistency are that the players are inconsistent or they have difficulty executing some of the game plans. Playing Miami after Ajayi just ran for 200+ yards, should the Bills D have been better prepared and not allow him to again gain 200 yards? I actually think in that game, he heat and humidity were too much to overcome. Once Ajayi and his O-Line got going, there was little the Bills could do to stop them. The D-Line got outplayed. So, should the Ryan's have made adjustments and did they?
  8. I bet Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, Bortles and Rothlisberger looking forward to playing the Bills secondary.
  9. Ah, yes, I attended UB not long after the North Campus opened. Without a gym yet, they put an air dome over a parking lot, where we played intramural basketball and floor hockey. A big snow storm took care of that as one of the baskets was seen protruding thri a snow drift.
  10. I recall reading that it was setup just the opposite. The Chargers have dibs on joining the Rams in LA. If they decided against it, then the Raiders could look at LA. With Nevada committing money towards a Vegas stadium for the Raiders, they're likely going there as long as the NFL owners approve it. Latest I heard though is the casino owner (Sheldon?) involved is getting greedy and wants a casino attached to the stadium. I don't know if that'll fly with the owners. Glad we don't have to worry about this now.
  11. Then it probably wasn't Rex's idea. Another part of the fiasco I don't understand was the refs supposedly waiting for a K ball when they stood over the ball and let the play clock go down to 5 seconds. Didn't they already have a K ball out there for the initial attempt when Sherman roughed Carpenter?
  12. How about the refs in the Sunday night Raiders/Broncos game? Some of those PI calls against the Denver DBs were pretty weak. I liked it better when the WRs and DBs could battle for the ball, man-to-man.
  13. It was a Sean McDonough jinx. He twice pointed out that Wood had played in 106 straight games. That had me thinking that was a great streak after his early career injuries, then Wham!
  14. Yes and I wonder if the Pegulas may have had something to do with it. He suddenly went from buffoonery to acting like a normal coach.
  15. I fear Whaley is going to be stubborn behind his guy Manuel and Rex behind Taylor where only an injury may force the issue like the Dallas situation with Romo and Kellen Moore both getting injured. We can dream that Cardale could perform like Prescott has.
  16. Gillislee averaged 7 yards a carry vs Tierod's 4.8 per attempt. Sticking with the ground game would've also kept the Pats offense off the field.
  17. IIRC, we saw the same approach with different coaches and GMs with Losman and Edwards. This is a big boys' game. If a QB can't handle having competition for his job, he's too mentally weak to be a QB in the NFL!
  18. Hmm, I wonder if there was a secret deal with the Chiefs, who put Charles on IR? Of course if Davis goes back to waivers, there's like 20+ teams that would have priority over KC.
  19. Are you kidding me? This is November 1st and not April 1st. Harvin is a head case. Is he in shape? How long before he'd be ready to play? Or before he changes his mind again? Or gets hurt again? I thought we had finally moved forward from him? They really must have little faith in Dez Lewis.
  20. Because they think they're so smart. Brady had one of the worst 40 times in the history of the draft combine. As with other positions, if the film shows you that they can/can't play, being a combine star shouldn't change the evaluation. Also, if a player shows they can make plays, who cares if he's a couple inches shorter than the prototypical size. I also wonder about what questions they ask in the combine interviews? How personal workouts are conducted? Most of the film clips I've seen have QBs in shorts throwing to WRs in shorts with no defenders. Wouldn't you want to have DBs and pass rushers in these workouts?
  21. If anyone's going to next week's game in Seattle, don't forget to pack "one"
  22. And the receivers then rarely get yards after the catch. I hope the scouts (college & pro) are out there looking at QBs.
  23. Cuz he a dumb MF! He served his purpose on the scout team as a pseudo Edelman.
  24. What are you talking about? They brought in 4 veteran receivers (G. Little, Salas, Boykin & Hankerson), all of which had experience starting on other teams. Of those, they decided to keep Salas and then he got injured. Other than Hankerson's drops in preseason, We don't know what was behind the decision not to keep any others. It wasn't like they didn't bring in anyone, or just undrafted free agents. Powell impressed in training camp and preseason so they decided to keep him.
