  1. Kapernick's play regressed this year under Roman/Harbaugh, which isn't a good sign.
  2. For what reasons do you like Roman?? He was almost as puzzling as a play-caller as Hackett/Marrone. With an established solid running game, the Niners kept switching to a spread formation which failed due to the O-Line's pass protection struggles and Kapernick's indecisiveness and poor decisions. Their offense struggled as much, if not more than the Bills. The Bills scored 343 points vs Niners 306. I know they have excellent defenses in their division but that's only 6 games. The Niners passing game was 30th in the league (the Bills were 18th) despite a better QB and arguably a better corps of receivers in Boldin, Crabtree, Vernon Davis, Stevie and Brandon Lloyd. And remember the questionable play calling at the end of the Niners recent Super Bowl. It could've been Harbaugh but Roman was the OC. I think Roman would be a bad hire.
  3. It would be more like paying a fee for the right to buy a car.
  4. Maybe they got sick of the confusion of two Dave Smith's?
  5. I've heard several interviews with coaches, like on ESPN radio, who say they tell their players to not look at that stuff and get worked up about it. So, Marrone does it himself?
  6. That's just wrong. I think the coordinator positions are another level and should be recognized as such.
  7. I can't believe with the list this long that they're not considering Gary Kubiak. Oh wait, he was coaching this past week and is ineligible to be interviewed this week, too. Of course, we'll be rooting for the Ravens to beat the Pats. They should put a moratorium on interviewing coaches until after the Super Bowl to make it fair for everyone. College football should do something similar. No interviewing until after January 1st. It's stupid when these coaches take another job when their school is going to a bowl game and either they just leave or the school tells them to get lost. The kids then have to play with an assistant coach as head coach.
  8. So what was Polian expected to come in and do? A proper consultant evaluation would be to determine if they had the right head coach. Sounds like he wouldn't have done that.
  9. Could it be possible that Orton retired because he didn't like playing for Marrone & Hackett? Would be a shame if he did and now Marrone is gone. I recall in one of his earlier games, Marrone was sending out the punt team on 4th down and Orton waved them off (not that we haven't seen that before). Then I think it was the Detroit game where Orton just took over on the last drive. Maybe he got fed up with the play-calling? Thoughts?
  10. Ravens couldn't run the ball? Undersized journeyman Justin Forsett ran for 1266 yards!!
  11. Kubiak, I like it. He had success and took Houston to the playoffs until they tailed off last year. He did very well with Baltimore Offense this year. The Ravens scored 409 pts in the tough AFC North. Only a handful of teams scored more.
  12. I agree. I expect a statement soon like "all Bills assistant coaches are free to pursue other opportunities"
  13. Assistant coaches and coordinators picked by the prior head coach are rarely kept by thenew head coach. They want to bring in their own guys. An oddity is DLine coach Tomsula for the Niners. He was there before Harbaugh and now is being mentioned as a candidate as Harbaugh's replacement, along with the D Coord. Fangio.
  14. The Redskins traded all of those picks to the Rams to get RG3.
  15. Mike Iupati!! You might want to look at the stats. Leveon Bell was 2nd on the Steelers with 83 receptions.
  16. So is that what a "manhertz " is, a measure of tight ends? How many manhertz os Gronk?
  17. Bradford's stats in the 2 seasons he stayed healthy: Year Games Yards Comp% TDs INTs QB Rating 2010 (1st) 16 3512 60.0 18 15 76.5 2012 (3rd) 16 3702 59.5 21 13 82.6 Unfortunately, only 17 games played in the other 3 seasons. Unrelated comment: Does anyone know how to insert/create a good table in this editor? Geesh! WYS not = WYG
  18. Fred Jackson's OT run with the stiff arm. They should've just given him the touchdown for that effort.
  19. So, our 4th went to Cleveland in Watkins deal. We got a 4th from SF for SJ and then traded it to Philly for Brown?
  20. Have you forgotten the disaster Schwartz was as head coach in Detroit? He was 7-9 last year and his players were out of control. Jim Caldwell took basically the same team, with a few additions like Golden Tate and Ebron, added discipline and they made the playoffs with an 11-5 record, allowing the 3rd fewest points in the league (Bills finished 4th).
  21. I think your answer about Moore may lie in your statement. He's small, his college performances haven't carried over to the NFL and he's not good enough to play in regular season games? Did Matt Leinhart retire?
  22. Finishing dead last does not even guarantee anything. The NHL changed the draft process again, whereby the team with the worst record now has only a 20% chance of getting the 1st pick. And the 29th place team has a 13.5% chance. Sure the odds are still better than that of the 28th team (where Sabres stand now) of 11.5 % but they've made the odds more balanced across the lottery teams. The lottery is becoming more like the NBA, which I don't like. Since the NBA Lottery started in 1985, only 3 times has the team with the worst record won the 1st pick. To me, that's just stupid. The team with the worst record should have like a 50% chance of getting the 1st pick. Also, in 2016 the NHL will adopt another rule taken from the NBA system. Since the NHL Draft Lottery started in 1995, the team with the worst record could only drop one position. Starting in 2016, they can drop as far as 4th.
  23. The addition of Hostler as Senior Offensive Assistant and Downing as Quarterbacks coach sure didn't make an impact. The offense was worse than in 2013 and EJ Manuel regressed.
  24. Yes, I also don't like games in London and Thursday games. I also don't like it when a call is reviewed and the network shows several replay angles with an obvious resolution and the Ref then says the opposite. It's like "What are they looking at?" I think they've gone way too far with the illegal contact penalties. What's wrong with a receiver and DB fighting for the ball? The NBA has a lot more contact under the basket.
