  1. By February I will have my own opinions just don't follow college enough to have that opinion right now I think they did well with Allen, based off preseason.. but Peterman looked like a stud in preseason too. I have hopes for Allen but they seemed to butcher the rest of the team and that is puzzling
  2. Yes and no... Could be true. I just won't make that assessment till the offseason myself till its all played out If our scouts identify a QB they feel has great potential then that is all that mattes. Allen was an inflated guy by most every standard
  3. You feel this is the case but things can change dramatically regarding QB... I'll wait for end of season to make that determination. the pass rushing is supposed to be very deep. Therefore can be had later if need be, but even those rankings can change by seasons end. The QB trumps every other position 10x's over (IMO) so if a QB is ranked high enough and Allen stinks it up some or has a horrible injury then we go QB top 10. There are lots of unanswered questions to be played out before anything we are talking about is even really debatable.
  4. Then They're idiots, and as of game 1 of season 2 they are proving to be bumbling. but you nor I have a clue on what they will do, and we do not know what Allen will be at the end of the year.. If things are ugly by December and the QB play is a disaster do we really avoid the biggest positon on the field and go back to being the pathetic no QB Bills backing into the last wild card slot or worse. Until Allen proves without a single doubt then their is huge questions that need to be answered. I'll move on now If that the case and there is no QB worth the top 10 then that will determine who we pick just the same.... I did mention the need for a top QB prospect with upside which I meant a coveted top 10 arm available at our pick
  5. Really 20 years +++ of inept QB play and you're willing to stick with a guy who may or may not be great. If we are drafting top 10 then as much of the blame goes to the QB. That's is the way it is. If we are drafting top 10 then it has a lot to do with QB play... I am unwilling to just wait to see if Allen really develops if he doesn't keep us out of the top 10 this year. I've watched this team draft every other position and suffer year after year with half ass QB play. I would keep swinging for QB's till at least one on the roster proves to be the one.... Then I would trade one for buku assets, or if one fails be relieved we have a good QB As for being disappointed. I already am in a very major way. This is a passing league and until you have a QB you always have nothing or you wallow in mediocrity and never get one. to each their own I guess but unless Allen can show huge signs of progress and continue to show durability I am not hitching all my wagons to the Allen train until he proves with little doubt he's the guy
  6. If we are drafting top 10 and there is a QB with upside you take the QB. Bottom line is if we are drafting early its because QB play was not as good as we would of hoped and no team in this league can afford to put there eggs into a could be.. ESPECIALLY THE BILLS I would be very upset if we passed on a having 2 capable QB's with upside. If both pan out the return on a traded QB is a boon for any franchise. If only 1 pans outs well then you covered the most important position. Now if Allen is all that and a bag of chips by the years end we will see a huge improvement and won't be drafting top 10 and we can then look at other key positions like 4 out of 5 OL positions, a real WR and a dominating pass rusher
  7. There was little denying he looked the best in pre-season... but my fears were answered quickly... He is not an NFL worthy QB
  8. Yep and i didnt need or want to read it. I gave up reading him because of this style. I guess i dont like getting kicked in the nuts and then instead of geting an ice pack for my nards i get another kick in jewels from Sully, Bucky or the rest. This is what it is. I actually have removed news in general from my life, and my life is better for it. But when it comes to my past times i am definitely not interested in overly negative pessimistic commentary while im witnessing it 1st hand for 16 games. For me Sully was always sharpening his ax. It became a huge bore
  9. He just doesn't get it. I didn't need to read the negativity, I watched the games. I didn't need nor want to read the constant finding of new things he chose to whine about. There was room for occasional articles telling it like it is, but i dont think i can remember Jerry ever finding a positive without reminding the reader it was screwed up. I choose to watch the Bills and i sure didnt want to sum up bad games and seasons with more levels negativity Reading Jerry Sullivan is a lot like playing old school depressing county music while drinking a 5th of whiskey and cleaning your shotgun... right after your wife leaves you.
  10. SO you didn't watch any preseason games. Allen showed plenty of positives IMO.. But Peterman didn't just beat out the rookie he owned his preseason and won it straight up Passing Statistics Player Att Comp Yds Comp % Yds/Att TD TD % INT INT % Long Sck Sack/Lost Rating Josh Allen 44 24 210 54.5 4.8 2 4.5 0 0.0 27 7 51 82.6 Nathan Peterman 41 33 431 80.5 10.5 3 7.3 1 2.4 35 2 9 124.7
  11. posters / thread starters need to stop over thinking this stuff
  12. Bills are 17-15 since they built the new stadium in 1987. We need a thread for the Even Keel's
  13. I just cannot argue with this logic.... I usually reserve final judgement till mid October...
  14. I rather not suffer the season and have to look forward to the offseason before October is over with though.
  15. I am positively scared shitless
  16. I appreciate Ralph for one and only one reason. For keeping the bIlls in Buffalo and keeping the odds high they would stay here at his passing. After that .. yeah I despised his management style I also agree Beane and McDermott need to stay in place for a minimum of 5 because we cannto keeping switching coaches and schemes every 2 -3 years.. It doesn't build a foundation..
  17. Top 10 things that Marv Levy said to the Buffalo Bills at half time during Superbowl XXVIII Number 1 was and by the above quote I mean to say.. Nobody strategizes bad play
  18. I fail to see the reason for conspiracy theories. Peterdude clearly won the QB battle. CLEARLY.. You did watch right ? I agree with putting Peterman in last year because Taylor was underwhelming and at that point the team needs to be B word slapped. It didn't work out the way anyone would of wanted but I still think it woke the team up some I doubt McDermott needs some kind of re-assurance.. He's a professional.. Re-assurance is a need for insecure fans who have to have some sort of far fetched reasoning to justify something they didn't agree with or a place to lay some sort of blame
  19. Playoffs or bust.
  20. I always wait till end of Sept to mid Oct before I throw in a towel... By then there is usually little doubt I'm not brimming with confidence but I thought Peterdude look solid in preseason. He earned the starting roll convincingly
  21. also a heluva a learning experience... QB's who are going to make it can move on from this and get better. Those that don't wallow in it and fade away fast
  22. I see a much different Peterdude this preseason. I still worry about him throwing those out patterns but he did look sharp this preseason He is going to to toss INT's occasionally but can he overcome it by driving the team down and scoring. All the serviceable to great QB's tossed their share of INT's.. It comes down to being able to overcome it and strike back
  23. I just hope that our Oline scheme was zone blocking in pre-season simply because we needed the work in that area but when it comes to the game Sunday we will be employing a much more polished blocking scheme that is more suited for the personnel we have. If this is not the case then Allen could very well be starting the game by the 2nd quarter and then you have to wonder who starts the 3rd quarter.. God forbid our 4th string option by games end.. I am haunted by nightmares of our OL from preseason. I might be eating Lorazepam all day sunday
  24. 23.3 million a year average works out to about 13% of there salary cap but 90 million is guaranteed. SO one knee injury and that is a lot of coin wasted.. Lots of risk for team that was 5-11 last year and most likely has lots of holes. I have to claim ignorance here but I don't see a 5-11 Bears team becoming super bowl champs because of Mack. But now they are down 2 - 1st rd picks a 3rd and a 6th in the next 2 drafts so if it doesn't pan out they will be in dire straights for 5 or so seasons because of it. I am very ok with the Bills not giving up that many assets and coin for Mack given the fact that this team is no where near a Mack away from SB victory.
