  1. how by getting better during the 2nd game I wasn't very fond of Taylor I do want great QB play, but would of been satisfied with some better on target thrwos in his debut. You can debate me all day long if you want but now your fishing for something out of me.. I walked away from Allen's 1st game concerned with his accuracy, his ability to scan the D pre-snap, and to find the open WR.. He struggled. So from here I hope he improves.... Yes and thanks for the understanding I am not getting on him I am just calling it the way I saw it.... and yes at this junction I am concerned
  2. not sure what context I HAVE to take. I made the observation based on professional football I don't agree that our WR situation is that bad... it is not great but if your going to use WR as an excuse then I just don't agree.. The OL looks bad that I agree..
  3. 2 passes to wide open receivers thrown way off target. Would of liked to see him throw and accurate passes here. He had time he just made piss poor throws to them More than few very inaccurate thrown incompletions 2 INT's that were very poorly poorly thrown footballs and one of them should of been thrown out of bounds. The other was underthrown. Not an end all but not encouraging either. Hopefully he is a quick learner and these things fade away quickly. What do I expect.. improvement
  4. What did you like? I am focusing purely on his passing because that is what we need.. however I will lay the disclaimer. I hope he improves quickly.
  5. and yet nobody can take an honest observation here.. I can be dishonest if you like again calling it the way I see it. I would of liked to have seen A LOT MORE POSITIVES. At this junction he looked shaky..
  6. I had lots of positives during preseason.. However real bullets are flying and I did not see much from a passing stand point in his 1st start. Yeah he ran a few made a few swing screens, but from and overall passing stand point and a QB general stand point he has lots of room for improvement hopefully each week he improves..
  7. I'm not asking for excuses.. I am just calling it the way I saw it and then after I got to review it. I'm not writing this guy off but he has to get much better.... much better..
  8. I'm just calling it the way I saw it with absolutely no references to anything else. He was underwhelming throwing the football in his 1st start. that is my opinion, I saw a QB who was inaccurate and did not make many quick reads left WRs open. Its not the only one game but his 1st was ho hum at best
  9. I thought he looked real shaky throwing the ball. Very inaccurate, not leading receivers.. Hoping this gets better but I am very concerned at this junction Ok Joe you laughed at this but the video shows a QB who was exactly this. I watched it more than once.. 2 really bad INt's, not leading WRs who were clearly open.. left wide open Wr's a few times while he focused on one side of the field
  10. We have a porous OL so he has to be. In the NFL the quick pass is a big part of keeping D's honest... If you don't have that then you greatly reduced your ability to be an NFL QB. You can not tell me that Ben or Stafford never had the quick slant in their repertoire
  11. Calling it the way I saw it. He made plays with his feet because he was unable to find open WR's or make that quick D dissection at the line and find the WR with quick throw. Maybe this gets better but, as of his 1st start it was subpar. He threw a few lame ducks, and had some inaccurate passes and I just wasn't happy with his performance. You can try to cling to a few positives but overall I did not see anything to get overly excited for in his debut.. I hope he gets better but don't start this Not my guy BS I jumped on the Allen train when drafted him.. I don't care about Darnold Rosen or any other QB in the entire league. I only care about Allen and what I saw with my own 2 eyes. He did not look good passing the football IMO again not throwing in the towel but was not thrilled with his debut I don't care about any other QB in this entire league. Allen did not look that good in my eyes. Lots of bad throws and not scanning the entire field. Can't think of any quick throws he made to beat the blitz or rush besides a couple of swing screens Again I don't hate Allen I just hope he gets a lot better quickly...
  12. please elaborate instead of a shake my head cause I have absolutely no idea if you are agreeing with me or attempting to call me out for an opinion.
  13. I don't think the guarantee works if there is a retirement / quit involved
  14. Allen was wildly inaccurate and was missing wide open receivers by not scanning the 2nd half of the field. That is what worries me the most. I'll be giving this a few more weeks before I put my stamp on my expectation but IMO Allen did not look like an NFL QB. He looked like a Bills QB... But Allen's debut did not go well at all.
  15. Unless they have search warrants they can not patrol private lots as far as I know.. You have to have paperwork or an agreement with the owners, and there is no national state or county law that says no table slamming. This is a Bills rule on Bills property
  16. this is a 5 year deal IMO. Anything less than that is just another tear down, new scheme, flush the next few years down the toilet. This franchise is desperate for continuity at the GM and HC spots.
  17. I believe the all 22 showed WR's open. If our QB can't find them then yes I expect to double down on a QB... you are less than nothing in this league without consistent dependable solid QB play. Now if Allen starts throwing to the open guys and they keep dropping passes that's a different discussion.. But I expect our QB to be able to identify D, make the right decision and deal with the onslaught because the great ones do, which forced D's to be more honest... Allen has to be capable of beating the 8 in a box onslaught if he is not then there is no reason to be patient, he'll never get it, and we've walked this walk a dozen times in the last 20 years. The current regime paid a price to get a top QB.. They can be patient with him and he can compete with another QB with equal or greater ceiling. A 2nd solid QB asset is never wasted IMO. Doesn't mean there will be one worth taking in the top 10 and I am not preaching over reaching, but I would not rest on my QB laurels as this will get you fired the fastest. Fans want excitement and they want it mostly at the QB position. So it is up to Allen alone to keep this from being a possibility. If we stink it up Allen looks like crap and we draft a pass rusher when there is a highly ranked QB sitting there then yes I will be pissed off. I want great QB play and I want nothing else but constant and total commitment to finding that QB and to not rest until they do. The game of football is quite boring without a capable QB. I'm sick and tired of Bills football....
  18. doesn't change the facts.. He looked the best in preseason which it was always best man wins the job. Stats or no stats he completed passes and moved the team down the field consistently in preseason. What else could you probably be looking for in an open competition QB battle. All 3 QB's made similar miss judgements your initial post was a bit sour. As you have told me to prepare to be upset which wasn't really a discussion it was simply you telling me I am wrong and to go pfffft myself !!!! The whole Perterdude things is hard to argue. I even thought Peterdude would be cut before week 1 before training camp, but No other Bills QB looked better in preseason.. Maybe Allen develops more but in preseason there was no doubt. All 3 made plenty of errors but regardless of what you feel about stats Peterman clearly won the open competition.. Obviously it was a mirage but mirages are still real until the truth is revealed. Its hard to fake it with the solid performances he put up... but that's the scary part
  19. He completed close to 80% and had a QBR somewhere near 127.. So yes he clearly looked solid in preseason. I made many references that I still worried about his arm, but there was 0 doubts who had the best preseason at QB for the Bills... you're in a combative mood today
  20. By February I will have my own opinions just don't follow college enough to have that opinion right now I think they did well with Allen, based off preseason.. but Peterman looked like a stud in preseason too. I have hopes for Allen but they seemed to butcher the rest of the team and that is puzzling
  21. Yes and no... Could be true. I just won't make that assessment till the offseason myself till its all played out If our scouts identify a QB they feel has great potential then that is all that mattes. Allen was an inflated guy by most every standard
  22. You feel this is the case but things can change dramatically regarding QB... I'll wait for end of season to make that determination. the pass rushing is supposed to be very deep. Therefore can be had later if need be, but even those rankings can change by seasons end. The QB trumps every other position 10x's over (IMO) so if a QB is ranked high enough and Allen stinks it up some or has a horrible injury then we go QB top 10. There are lots of unanswered questions to be played out before anything we are talking about is even really debatable.
  23. Then They're idiots, and as of game 1 of season 2 they are proving to be bumbling. but you nor I have a clue on what they will do, and we do not know what Allen will be at the end of the year.. If things are ugly by December and the QB play is a disaster do we really avoid the biggest positon on the field and go back to being the pathetic no QB Bills backing into the last wild card slot or worse. Until Allen proves without a single doubt then their is huge questions that need to be answered. I'll move on now If that the case and there is no QB worth the top 10 then that will determine who we pick just the same.... I did mention the need for a top QB prospect with upside which I meant a coveted top 10 arm available at our pick
  24. Really 20 years +++ of inept QB play and you're willing to stick with a guy who may or may not be great. If we are drafting top 10 then as much of the blame goes to the QB. That's is the way it is. If we are drafting top 10 then it has a lot to do with QB play... I am unwilling to just wait to see if Allen really develops if he doesn't keep us out of the top 10 this year. I've watched this team draft every other position and suffer year after year with half ass QB play. I would keep swinging for QB's till at least one on the roster proves to be the one.... Then I would trade one for buku assets, or if one fails be relieved we have a good QB As for being disappointed. I already am in a very major way. This is a passing league and until you have a QB you always have nothing or you wallow in mediocrity and never get one. to each their own I guess but unless Allen can show huge signs of progress and continue to show durability I am not hitching all my wagons to the Allen train until he proves with little doubt he's the guy
  25. If we are drafting top 10 and there is a QB with upside you take the QB. Bottom line is if we are drafting early its because QB play was not as good as we would of hoped and no team in this league can afford to put there eggs into a could be.. ESPECIALLY THE BILLS I would be very upset if we passed on a having 2 capable QB's with upside. If both pan out the return on a traded QB is a boon for any franchise. If only 1 pans outs well then you covered the most important position. Now if Allen is all that and a bag of chips by the years end we will see a huge improvement and won't be drafting top 10 and we can then look at other key positions like 4 out of 5 OL positions, a real WR and a dominating pass rusher
