  1. Top running backs don't markedly improve a team's results. The market has proven that out over the last 20 years. Teams that choose to pay these bloated contracts are just lighting $100 bills on fire. Mixon is a fine running back, but he's not really moving the needle for what the Bengals need to do to improve. To echo other posters, this is fine as long as other teams choose to make these decisions. Glad it's not the Bills
  2. At our Harrisburg Bills Backers bar, Tyrod was not called by name, simply referred to as "3 and Out". I can't recall him ever throwing a pass for a long 3rd down completion This is also why we love Josh Allen
  3. I think there's about 175,000 reasons not to allow fans into games. But don't let that stand in the way of reason and prudence
  4. There's no way he's not done with that team, and possibly the NHL
  5. It truly mystifies me how this talking fart balloon keeps getting job opportunities in the league
  6. we can't keep turning and churning these high performing draft picks. At some point, we have to start giving 2nd contracts. And it sends entirely the wrong message to the culture that McBeane are trying to build to ship a guy off just because he's not comfortable with playing this year. Shouldn't be any more complicated than that
  7. Let's agree to meet in the middle and wish that they had Ted Washington from 1995
  8. You are conveniently forgetting that Freddie was probably 35 at the time and not exactly a full time player. They let him go at EXACTLY the right time, the mistake was thinking that a lightweight mullet Jeff Wright could man the position competently.
  9. This one is right up there with "Peyton Manning 40 Yard Naked Bootleg Day"
  10. I'm partial to "Lonnie Johnson Getting Decked By the Punt Returner While Looking Back Day"
  11. And this is why Beane's strategy of signing several mid-level veterans each year, most specifically for OL & DL, really starts to pay off. We have versatility, depth, and the ability to manage these types of situations better than most teams, simply because of the foresight of our leadership team. Plus, it helps build competition across the roster, and sometimes bears fruit with guys stepping up that you might not have expected, and flipping excess depth for draft picks. Contrast that to previous regimes when 1 or 2 injuries and we're down to JAG's like John DiGiorgio having to take big roles
  12. Thank god we're finally off this cycle of hiring failed retread coaches just because that's all that will take the job (Jauron, Gailey, Rex) Who in their right mind hires Adam Gase coming off his stint in Miami? The red flags were all there, and if anything, they've gotten worse under the microscope in NY. Teams that fail to learn from the past, deserve all the misery that they get
  13. I think we can call the stadium whatever we want Not for nothing, but we did put the "12th Man" up on the Wall in 1992...
  14. Difficult to see the need to make this big of a move this early, and for a defensive player on a middling team. What's the big downside by waiting another year (or even two)? Especially for someone like him - where one more on field incident will equal a ban of a year or maybe even more. Seems like a very Browns-like thing to do. Why not throw another couple years on OBJ's contract while you're at it? He's another stable fellow...
  15. You're not wrong about the trade itself, but it was deeply symptomatic of the dysfunction of the Jauron/Gailey years, where it was apparent that finding and keeping high quality talent was going to continue to be difficult. Why would a guy like Peters want to play here long term, when he could get much more money, and much more WINNING somewhere else?
  16. I think this is crazy and somewhat unnecessary for both sides, especially with the current level of uncertainty
  17. I think we have enough tight ends on this team already, and I'd like to see what the young ones (Knox, Sweeney, Croom) look like this fall before I start trading away draft choices for someone else's disgruntled guy (who hasn't proven a whole heck of a lot yet either). And also pay him $3M or more when we're trying to budget for future extensions
  18. In all seriousness, can you imagine actually being a fan of this team? Racially offensive nickname Greediest, most corporately soulless owner on the planet (and that's saying a lot) Incompetent management at all levels Next to no history of winning over the last 25+ years Terrible ridiculous overpriced stadium experience Located in possibly the worst place to live in the entire country Dwayne Haskins is your QB Hired Retread Riverboat Ron Rivera Zero hope for future improvement
  19. Holy crap, you actually take the time to come on to this site and offer up these nuggets of wisdom? Really breaking the mold of intelligent and insightful Jets fans
  20. Almost like we did this year too, huh? Except for the beating up part
  21. Shaw - didn't Mularkey take the Titans to the playoffs at 9-7 and then get fired? Also, I would not have said Spikes was over the hill in 2004. He was a beast that year
