  1. That's a great move by Zay. I'm rooting for him this year. I hope he can prove the Bills were right to have faith in him.
  2. I've been a Bills fan for over 30 years. Personally, I don't get the fascination with the whole Mafia thing. It sounds like a bunch of drunks puffing their chests out trying to act like tough guys. I wish Josh would stop mentioning them like they define the fan base. Why would anyone want to glorify a criminal organization?
  3. Thanks to all who make this place work. This place allows us all to share the fan experience as a community. My fan enjoyment would not be complete without it.
  4. I agree. I think Allen has many more tools in his skillset for success than EJ has. Allen has better mobility, a better arm, better ability to throw on the run, better field vision and I believe, better accuracy. When we drafted EJ, I remember the Florida State fans being surprised and saying "Good luck with that!". Lets hope he is the real deal but they really need to fortify the offense around him.
  5. Here is a quote from reporter Brandon Foster, who covered Wyoming football, as he explains the difference in the offense from 2016-17: "The O-line regressed and the run game disappeared. Allen actually became a bigger part of the offense, as Wyoming incorporated more QB keepers and read-option stuff out of necessity." That may explain why the pass % went down last year.
  6. I think the Allen project may be different too. The kid is undeveloped, has the intelligence to play the position, with an incredible natural ability to throw a football. Physically, he is a late bloomer who is still developing. He can make throws that very few people in the world can make. He does play too much hero ball at times which will need to be reigned in as he learns what he can and can't do in the NFL. His feet are a mess that cause him problems at times too - that needs to be fixed. I think he truly loves the game - when he throws in interception, he is going all out to tackle the opponent. After being told no repeatedly by colleges, he still had the belief in himself and love for the game to keep pushing. I just hope the Bills staff know how to develop him and just as important, us fans need to be patient with this project. He will make mistakes along the way, but I think the longterm payoff can be great.
  7. After watching all those games, my comments are: - Very few easy throws close to or behind the line of scrimmage - He had a ton of throws under pressure. - Great throws on the run - He "earned" his completion % - no cheap completions. - Needs to improve his touch on swing passes. - He reads the field - Took lots of snaps under center - He's very eager to tackle after throwing an interception. - Agree with Ojabba - crazy good feet, makes people miss in the back field and in the open field. Deceptively quick. I think this is going to be a fun ride in the future,
  8. They need to start him when HE is ready. After his footwork has been corrected, after he has a firm knowledge of the playbook, after he has developed chemistry with his receivers and when the O line play is stable. That is when he will have the best chance for success.
  9. Fair point there. I am by nature an optimist - how can I not be as a Bills fan. All we can do is wait and hope the kid is the real deal. If people don't like him, they can go buy a red and white Rosen jersey. Wow! Never knew that. i never noticed he played 15 fewer games than Wentz.
  10. You got it right Thurminator - except he was at Jr. college only 1 year. I think Bills brass didn't think that Rosens personality and desires were a match for Buffalo. In addition to their concerns of his long-term durability. He is probably a great passer when the pocket is safe, but when it breaks down around him he's done. What I've noticed is that former NFL players - Phil Simms, Trent Dilfer, Chris Carter seem to love Allen. Stats geeks who haven't played the game are his critics. I think he can be really special., He reminds me of a young, less refined John Elway. We all need patience with Bills coaches and not rush the kid onto the field too soon. Let him develop properly. We can go 0-16 this year, just don't crew up the development of Allen.
  11. Lets hope that Allen has The Force!
  12. Thats the first thing I thought when I saw that pick. He is the Bills answer to the Gronk. I've wished we had someone like Edmunds for years.
  13. I think the Bills had real concerns about Rosen's durability and ability to make "something out of nothing" in scramble situations. I also think there is a real chance that Rosen didn't want the Bills. The Bills may have gotten that vibe from him and passed. Not every kid wants to build a career in Buffalo or Cleveland, especially if money is not a motivating factor for them. If he didn't want to be here it would be bound to end badly.
  14. The best kind of ability is availability. Rosen will not be durable in the NFL. Also, I think Rosen may not have wanted Buffalo. His comment yesterday about maybe having to "fake a smile if he was selected" seems directed towards the Bills. I'd much rather have a guy with Allen's build, abilities and desire to improve and desire to be in Buffalo.
  15. I'm on the train and ready for a great ride. We will need to be patient with him but he has the potential to be great. He can make crazy good throws. We need to hammer the bad habits out of him. I'm still trusting McBean. His success will depend on whats in his head and heart. McBean knows of that better than me.
  16. I'm looking forward to watching this kid develop. He has the tools. If he can put his game together, we've found a gem. If not, we didn't trade the farm for him and we can take another swing in 3 years. I hope its a fun ride!
  17. That draft would be the best of all options for the Bills. Maybe we will be rewarded for our years of agony!
  18. I have no idea what to think of Allen. Theres a lot that I don't like but his big plays he makes are amazing. What the heck do any of us know? If we pick him, I'm all on board. Weather we get him or not, I hope he succeeds in the NFL as he'd be really fun to watch and I like his story.
  19. If we can only pick 2 out of the 3. Get our quarterback and protect our quarterback. If this is the year of the quarterback, we need to do everything possible to help him succeed. Fixing defensive holes are secondary.
  20. Interesting article. Its all a complete crap shoot. No one knows anything about how these guys will translate into the NFL. The only thing I feel certain about is not to pick Allen. Other than that, I think Mayfield, Rosen, Rudolph and White/Lauletta could have all the same chance of success.
  21. Just remember - fan is short for fanatical. I think no matter who they draft for QB, 2/3 of the people on this board will be ranting that they picked the wrong guy. When if fact, we all have no idea how any of them will turn out long-term.
  22. This topic just got a whole lot more important tonight!
  23. Why are Bills players always arrested naked?
  24. No one knows anything about projecting college QB success in the NFL. McBean has shown good judgement so far. They will figure it out. Hysteria with threats of firing people is not a recipe for success. Chill....
  25. This is ridiculous to even think about this.
