Is Israel Committing Genocide In Gaza?
Andy1 replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Israeli soldiers shooting people at the food distribution sites is just sick and evil. Hamas is pure evil. Israel is murdering civilians daily and intentionally forcing mass starvation onto the people there. There is a lot of food sitting over there because aid workers can’t trust Israel to not kill them when they distribute it. Forcing mass starvation is genocide, so the answer is Yes. -
Assuming she does have a health issue, if she truly cared, she could send her assistant.

This show is a direct mocking of all parts of Trump. Make sure you find the whole episode to watch. The last part is a Trump promotional video of him in the desert. It took a bit of looking to find the complete show.

Their creative ability to do satire directed at those in power is admirable and the most American thing ever. That episode and the way they pulled that off is genius. If Trump is smart, he will ignore it. If he takes the bait, this episode and the show will just get more views than ever.

The problem seems to be with his base who have been fed the story of Democrat run child sex rings led by HRC in the back of pizza restaurants. Epstein and his actions were part of that narrative centered around evil, godless democrats. If Maxwell makes a statement, likely in exchange for pardon, absolving Trump and implicating or suggesting Dems were involved, his base will swallow that hook, line and sinker. All Trump needs is plausible deniability. It certainly appears that there are reasons that the leaders of both parties don’t want the information released. Trump is acting guilty as hell. Time will tell.

Trump: Dyslexia and Adult ADHD? (and/or dementia)
Andy1 replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
His brain is turning into mashed potatoes. -
So last week Trump fires the woman who prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell. Now he appoints his personal attorney who intends to interview her as she sits in prison doing her 20-year sentence. I’d bet that the purpose of the interview is to get her to make some statement which will solve Trumps current political problem with Epstein, in exchange for a secret favor from Trump. This is totally normal for a President. Has there ever been a president with more of his associates in prison?

Hunter is an idiot. The current guy also has a history of surrounding himself with idiots. Based on number of idiots he associates with, Trump clearly wins.

Trump trying to change the story away from Epstein.

At this point, it just doesn’t matter for his base. There is no more moral majority left in the R party. Any evidence is fake to them. There could be video of Epstein passing off a young girl to Trump as they go to a room and his base wouldn’t care. The religious wing of the party would be talking about forgiveness. They would have another prayer party over him and call him clean and messenger from God. The only issue is if enough independents get repulsed by it all to swing the midterms.

Trump is saying to release the grand jury testimony because he isn’t in it. The testimony is evidence for charges against Epstein and his woman. Trump is not saying to release the documents in the case file. Trump also know the testimony is secret and can’t be released, so it’s just another way to tie it up in the courts. I don’t know to what extent he was involved, but he sure is acting like he is guilty.

Personally, I’m not making any judgements or assumptions on all this. I’m taking the wait and see approach. Clearly, Ep and Trump were buddies. Even if his name is on a list, I still think 40% of the country will stick with him, so not much will change. It is interesting seeing the temperature rise though.

Well a Trump handshake is like a wrestling match for dominance. Other younger, stronger leaders know what to expect now and have probably been giving him the death grip.
-
Yea, if that’s the point, I guess I see that is a bit stupid. I just took it as Obama encouraging men to not discriminate which is legit too.

Is it wrong to have gay friends? Trumps legacy will be a statue of him describing him as being undefeated in the Trump open at his golf course.

We are going to watch him decline as we did with Biden. Father Time is undefeated and Trump can’t stop talking nonsense as he wants to always prove how “smart” he is. -
I’ll just say that videos are routinely edited for all sorts of reasons, and just because a video was edited doesn’t by itself indicate any sort of coverup.

This gets to the fundamental question of “What is the purpose of government?” At its most minimal, basic level, most would say that government should help ensure public safety. That is why we have police, fire departments, departments of health, building codes, licensing for jobs that could impact public safety, car inspections, OSHA, pollution laws, waste water laws, etc, etc….. Trump continually says he needs to take extreme measures to protect public safety from all those dangerous immigrants, so he needs a gajillion dollars to do it. It all costs something to protect people. Your question suggests that people know the risk levels when they buy property. That is a dumb assumption as most are clueless, and that is why government should take a role in managing public risk from such events. Governments all over do that already with flood plain management projects to minimize flood impacts. Another issue is that flood prone areas are typically owned by the poor in society so the wealthy may not see spending government resources on those areas as a priority. In 2024 alone, extreme weather caused 568 deaths in the US. That is why, prior to Trump, the Defense Department had for many years considered climate change to be a national threat. If 568 people died from terrorists, you know the government would spend a bajillion dollars fighting the enemy. The problem in TX seems to be that their government is in the pockets of the fossil fuel industry and any proposals to address and mitigate future climate impacts are a taboo subject, lest government has to raise taxes.

It seems to me that either all the right wingers have been lying about the Epstein stuff or Trump is involved in a coverup, trying to kill the story because…..
