Still waiting to see a Republican healthcare plan. And now you support SNAP. Got it.
-
True. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. 600k does seem high but what is the Republican plan then?
-
Republicans want to cut SNAP benefits and health insurance subsidies. Let the pain begin. Let’s let millions of Trump voters receiving those benefits suffer. Show and tell the stories of Americans suffering on the news. Let them remember which party wants these policies.

If everyone is so hot on changing birthright citizenship, then follow the Constitutional amendment process and see if it can be done. Get 2/3 majority in house and senate or approval through constitutional convention.
-
And what a majority needs to do is sweeten the bill to force 7 Dems to vote for it to pass it. That’s how politics works. It’s not clear what the off ramp is for either party now.

Civil WAR is NIGH. When Does the SHOOTING Start?Andy1 replied to JDHillFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits The price of eggs was used during the election as a generic phrase for the cost of food/living since no one is only living on eggs. Since you are woefully misinformed, here is a more complete picture of the rising food costs. https://wolfstreet.com/2025/10/24/food-inflation-the-price-spikes-of-beef-coffee-eggs-and-dairy/

Civil WAR is NIGH. When Does the SHOOTING Start?Andy1 replied to JDHillFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits Trump got elected to stop illegal immigration and to lower the price of eggs. He’s accomplished #1, though probably to the dismay of many who voted for him, since many didn’t really think he would do it as has been done. So far he has failed on #2 and doesn’t seem too concerned about it as he’s more obsessed about his ball room. Now I’m not too riled up, I’m just noting where we are 10 months into the most amazing presidency ever. Will be interesting to look back on all this a year from now to see where we are and if eggs are any cheaper. Biden royally mishandled the immigration issue and his own physical ability to run for a second term, thus we get Trump. Trump royally mishandled Covid, thus we got Biden. I’m pretty sure people will be tired of Trump in 3 years the way this going.

Civil WAR is NIGH. When Does the SHOOTING Start?Andy1 replied to JDHillFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits These right wingers like Banon act like they are the persecuted minority and have no other options but to consider war. Have they forgotten that they are the government and can and are doing whatever they want, including tearing down the East Wing. They have their tariffs, they have their masked goons snatching people off the street, abortion wars are over, they own the Supreme Court, and Congress, the billionaires give Trump whatever money he wants, they are blasting boats out of the ocean for entertainment, woke is dead, universities and media don’t dare oppose or they will be sued, they have gutted the government and fired anyone they don’t like. Doesn’t look like they need a war since they can just do whatever they want. Problem is, is that there always has to be an enemy to eliminate and now they need to find new targets as they are getting bored rounding up immigrants.

Trump will clean out the swamp this timeAndy1 replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits There has never been a swap creature bigger than Trump. He asks for billions, not millions and the swamp is bigger than ever.

Related? Governance of those southeast states have failed their populations. Sometimes some change is good. Don’t know what to think about this issue.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits For those of us who don’t live the life of a hermit or are not able to replace our own house roof like you do, please direct me to the government website which tells us which businesses to avoid.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits Don’t tell that to me. You should be telling that to the thousands of business owners who do the exploitation and are getting rich from it.

Arguing about the meaning of religion is as old as time. Your view on immigration is not the message I read in The Evangelist or hear from the Pope.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits That’s a stupid comment based on assumptions and no knowledge. You call an agency, they send someone, you make sure they do what you are paying them to do. That’s it. Are you asking for proof of citizenship or immigration papers for the mechanic who give your truck an oil change, or the woman cleaning your hotel room, or the cook at the diner you go to, or the crew working for the contractor to replace your roof or pave your driveway? I doubt it, so looks like you must miss the good old days of slavery and keep your whip handy.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits Sure, anyone - citizen or illegal, working on their own will be cheaper. We ended up using agency care givers. What I do know is that the retention rate for workers in the field is low. The agency isn’t paying them much. Walmart might pay better. We experienced constant turnover of Americans willing to care for our low maintenance father. Anyone with basic job skills are looking for other work opportunities. Hence, immigrant women may be more willing to do this type of work. If your loved one needs care, you aren’t asking what their immigration status is.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits Do you think every immigrant is illegal? We need expanded legal immigration.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits He acts like he only wants to be President for part of the country and some of the people. He views the blue states as the enemy within.

Next thing they should do is investigate the NFL. With the amount of money to be made out there, there’s probably refs influencing game results. If there are large sums of money to be made, someone will try to do it. That’s human nature.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits I don’t know where you think a million extra new care givers are going to come from. We need expanded legal immigration to care for our elderly or else who will be wiping the baby boomers a_ses? That’s a reality America is not prepared for. The United States is facing a larger population of adults over the age of 65 than ever before, primarily made up of baby boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964). This demographic group grew rapidly, exploding from 41 million people in 2011 to 71 million in 2019 — a massive 73% increase. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates this number will keep rising, projecting it will reach 82 million by 2030. Seven out of 10 of these Americans aged 65+ will eventually need long-term care. Therefore, by 2030, the demand for home health care is anticipated to grow by 46% with more than 1 million new home care jobs needing to be filled. https://www.asbestos.com/support/caregivers/shortage-by-state/

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits No she doesn’t, but I wouldn't care if she did. Most immigrants come here with little money, so they live in low income, higher crime areas. It’s always been that way. I’ve worked my butt off and am fortunate to not live in those areas. If you don’t like where you live, then move - it’s the American way. Now down the road in our neighborhood is a more established black immigrant extended family with a pile of people living together. I know one of the guys is a garbage truck driver and a woman works in health care as an aide. I think they moved in for the school district for their kids. They fit in fine and have done a nice job fixing up their house.

I thought that was funded with private donations too. I would offer that the east wing has significantly more history associated with it than the tennis court. The East Wing is just with the First Ladies work area. I need to remember in this new age of Trumpism male dominance is in, and the history of Nancy, Barbara, Hillary, Laura, Michelle, Melania, and Jill can be forgotten.

Can you even imagine the meltdown if Obama...Andy1 replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits When my father was dealing with dementia at age 90, we had caregivers help clean his apartment, clean him and prepare his meals. By far, the most caring and best caregiver was a black Muslim immigrant woman from Gambia. Most Americans wanted to spend more time on their phones than attend to his needs. Any of one of us may be in his position some day if we are lucky enough to live that long.
