Jets just traded with Colts for #3 pick in first round
Andy1 replied to Hurricane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to be an optimist. Its the only way I can be watching this team. I don't know how you could be a Bills fan if you were a pessimist. You would need to be on Prozac to survive the football season. -

Trading up only works if you have a willing partner. 12 was probably too far back for the Colts to agree. It may also be the case for the Giants. Trust the Process... -
Tyron has great character. I wish him well. He was our best QB in years, but the search continues...

Stupid.

As a person, I have great respect for Tyrod. He has given a lot to the Bills team and has been all class. No drama and all effort plus willing to take a pay cut. Whenever he leaves the Bills, I will wish him well. With that being said, we should be looking to upgrade if possible. My problem with Tyrod is if McD is looking for a pocket QB, he is not the type of QB you would want teaching the young guy how to read the field. I also don't think he should take a pay cut. He is a proven player at a position of need in the league. If he's not on the Bills, he'll be playing somewhere.

Should we throw Peterman on the trash heap for 1 bad outing?
Andy1 replied to Sky Diver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The odds are stacked against the kid, just like they are against every 5th round QB pick. With that said, no-one knows how he will turn out. The safe bet is he will wash out but he wouldn't be the 1st one to beat the odds to become a decent starter. I hope he proves people wrong, but I don't want the future of the Bills to rest on hope alone. They must find someone else too. -
Have you ever been less excited for a SB?
Andy1 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I have mentally checked out and will not be watching. I'd rather spend that time watching some video of possible draft prospects. I'm boycotting the pro pats officiating. These are probably two of the most obnoxious fan bases in the nfl. No winner here. -
I agree with the premise of your post. I was impressed with Lauletta's ability to throw accurately into tight windows yesterday. People have compared him to Garopolo. I have seen a lot of Rudolph but am not sure if he has the ability to thread it that accurately into tight windows. Most of the throws I see from him are to wide open receivers. White seems very sharp between the ears from what I have seen, but I'm not sure about his arm strength. I was a supporter of Rudolph - I'm not so sure now. There is still a lot to learn about these three. At this point, I don't know who to favor.

Gotta go after a feature running back
Andy1 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After a QB I hope they get lots of talented, hungry big nasty dudes on both sides of the lines. Thats where games are won. -
This has been the best week to be a Bills fan in a looooong time. I hope Shady can effectively play. Can't wait for game time! Hopefully, The Process can get us one more win. Lets Go Buffalo!!!

That Dream video is great. Tim Russet was a great ambassador for the Bills. He would be so happy now. After all these years, watching 4 SB losses, enduring the drought, coaches and players coming and going, the donations to charities after last week, I am so happy and proud to be a Bills fan. As Tim said - someday it WILL happen. Just keep the faith. GO BILLS!

If we beat Jax, I think there is a good chance we roll with TT next year. If not, assuming Darold & Rosen are not in play, I think I'd try to get Allen or Rudolph choosing the one with the better football brain. There is more risk with Allen but also possibility for more reward, while Rudolph seems to be the more consistent, safer pick, but with a lower ceiling.

Nice writeup. Hopefully we can get one more good-feeing wrap-up post from you after next week. Re: McDermott - We may not all agree with all of his decisions, but he has done something really special with this club and that is building a TEAM. In all my years of watching NFL football, I have never seen a bunch celebrate the achievements of their teammates like this club does. They are disciplined and play selfless football. With all the players they let go and all the new players who came in, that is not an easy thing to do. It was such a contrast compared to watching the fins yesterday. I hope this ride can continue one more week!

With defense, a lot of it seems to be how the players skills and abilities fit the system. These guys fit like a glove. Its a good sign that our coach can recognize talent that fits what he wants to do. Lets hope for another great draft this year.

I have a baby due in 2 days, should i call it Sean?
Andy1 replied to Jasovon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just remember, nearly every coach eventually gets fired. It goes with the job. I'd go with Kyle or Eric - the most veteran guys on the team. -
I was there and remember that day. We definitely need some long term payback for that one.

Bills vs. Dolphins Postgame - Week 17

Tim Russert is smiling somewhere in heaven. -
What QB do you want to draft.
Andy1 replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If there is a willing partner, I would trade a lot for Darnold. Lacking that option, I'd go with Allen or Rudolph choosing the one who is better between the ears. -
What we've learned about McDermott & Beane from this season
Andy1 replied to Dr. K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am happy with him as coach. He is young and hungry. He is the best we have had since Marv or Wade. Yes, he is learning on the job but people who know the NFL all seem to speak highly of him. The two things this team needs is a solid QB and stability in the coaching and management positions. Finding a solid QB is one of the most difficult thing to do in pro sports. Give him time. I believe he will find one. Constant turnover every 3 or 4 years is not going to lead to success. Personally, I think we have to prepare now to be ready for the decline of Brady. As long as Brady is performing well, we will have a tough time succeeding the way the NFL officiates games, regardless of our coach or QB. But someday, in the next few years, he will be injured or we will see his decline and we should be ready then with a solid QB and experienced coach. In the mean time, we shouldn't be firing good coaches just because they don't win the division. -

While they are flawless, Chris Brown today on Twitter stated: "The Patriots lead the league in scoring drives in which a penalty gives them an extra 1st down. That 40-yd pass interference led to New England's 28th scoring drive this season." It is hard to not think the refs are favoring them.

DL and LB groups are more pressing need than QB
Andy1 replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A good QB is the most important part of winning. Everything else is a distant second. With smart drafting, they may get both QB & help on defense. -
Kelvin Benjamin's play today and moving forward
Andy1 replied to The Now Moment's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Benjamin played great today. He would have had more impact if our QB would throw it to him and trust him more often. If we go the rookie route, we may need to take one step backwards to get two steps forward in the long run. Rudolph might be there for us without trading away our other picks. -
Early this year, I noticed Taylor throw the ball away a few times. I noted it because it felt like an area where his game improved over the off season. Since then though, I don't remember him doing it ever again. He would much rather see what happens when he tries to run. I don't know of any other QB who just refuses to throw it away like him.
