AJ was the only QB playing. Is he going to.be traded?
Andy1 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope we keep him. With our porous O line, I want depth at the most important position on the field. He knows the offense and seems like a good fit with the other QBs. -
Every Josh Allen snap in Bengals Preseason Game 3
Andy1 replied to cd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I watch it again in slo-mo, it looks like 1st Bills receiver doesn't touch it. It looks like the second Bengals defender tips it just before it gets to Benjamin. -
And now for something completely different

First time I saw them, I thought the same thing. -
Calling Shananigans On the JA hate
Andy1 replied to GoodHands15's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love Josh but Peterman has earned the right to start. Josh just admitted that he had some difficulty diagnosing the defense as the play clock was winding down. Also said he could be quicker getting into and out of the huddle. I think we go with Peterman due to his mental edge over Allen at this stage. I like everything about Peterman except his out throws to the far sideline. I think Dabol can manage that though with play design. Allen's time will come when he is ready. -
If Josh continues to improve, I think your analysis is right on. Statistics describe or predict features of populations but within each population there is individual variation and outliers - on each side of the average. Hopefully JA will prove to be one of these outliers on the good side. Stats can accurately describe or predict most, but not all individuals.
-
I also thought that was a stupid comment. No one else has said that about JA. I thought Darold was the one with the long windup.

Going into the season, I was concerned that they did not have the coaches on staff to develop a rookie QB as well as a 2nd year QB. The good play of JA & NP so far has given me some confidence that our coaches are effectively teaching the position. Allen & Peterman are both much improved from their versions last year. Hopefully the trend continues upward.

Bills injury updates - Training Camp/Preseason
Andy1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just heard the good news on WGR . They said his collar bone was not broken but bruised. This is fortunate for Bills. The Process can move forward with all parts. -
Josh Rosen vs Josh Allen: Game 1 Comparison
Andy1 replied to BuffaloButt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get the placement of Allen behind the other two also. I think they have all done well so far. Too early to sort them out yet. I think Allen has had more wow plays than the others to this point. -
Fun film review of Josh Allen vs. the Browns
Andy1 replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the more people see JA play, the more people are going to like him. He plays the QB position with gusto! There is just more of everything compared to the vanilla players in the league. -
IF Allen starts winning games, as we all hope will happen, I think the media is going to love this guy. QBs who can make great plays are celebrated in the NFL. Allen has the ability to make plays that few others can. His background story just adds to the drama. If this happens, there will be plenty of people jumping on the bandwagon.

We Learn A Lot About Allen When He Plays the Browns
Andy1 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Playing last year behind Wyoming's bad O line has helped prepare him for his time with the Bills. That touchdown play was frickin' great. Pure instincts and reaction. Looked like something from Aaron Rodgers. -
[Edited Title] Tremaine Edmunds looks Lost
Andy1 replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The kid isn't even legal to drink a beer. Give him some time. He has the skills and tools to be great. He is doing what is called learning. I can't imagine having his responsibilities at that age. -
I'm picking my jaw up.... Wow!

Question: Can passing accuracy issues be fixed?
Andy1 replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go watch the "Every throw from JA" in the Panthers game again. At which point in the video clip is his throw unacceptably inaccurate? On one play it looked like a possible miscommunication with him and Ray Ray. Other than that, I don't see it. I see more WOW plays than poor plays. In the end, like Rc2 said, its about making plays. It looks to me like he definitely can do that. We'll see in the future. -
Cardale starting tonight for Chargers
Andy1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rosen went 6 of 13 for 41 yards. Cant watch the game but it doesn't sound like he impressed. -
National Josh Allen buzz after 1 preseason half
Andy1 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Welcome to Bills Nation. Glad to have you on the wagon train. I'm thrilled we were able to move up in the draft to get JA. He is raw but the talent cannot be denied. His throws are going to be on the weekly NFL highlight reels. This is a QB driven league. The big time QBs and their teams are promoted by the league. He can make crazy good throws and he's going to be fun to watch. Other rookie Qbs may have better completion %, but they don't make the throws JA makes. -
Are The Bills Mafia’s Tailgate Antics An Embarrassment?
Andy1 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate the mafia reference. It probably came from some dumb 20 something kid who wanted to sound tough and has no idea what real organized crime is about. No one should be glorifying the mafia and associating all Bills fans with that. If they called themselves something else I would have less problem with it. I also hope Josh Allen stops mentioning them. Just call us Bills fans. -
Zay Jones Impacts Local Family

That's a great move by Zay. I'm rooting for him this year. I hope he can prove the Bills were right to have faith in him. -
Anybody else mad about our draft hats?
Andy1 replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been a Bills fan for over 30 years. Personally, I don't get the fascination with the whole Mafia thing. It sounds like a bunch of drunks puffing their chests out trying to act like tough guys. I wish Josh would stop mentioning them like they define the fan base. Why would anyone want to glorify a criminal organization? -
Thanks to all who make this place work. This place allows us all to share the fan experience as a community. My fan enjoyment would not be complete without it.

Soul and science testing on Josh Allen
Andy1 replied to FTLBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I think Allen has many more tools in his skillset for success than EJ has. Allen has better mobility, a better arm, better ability to throw on the run, better field vision and I believe, better accuracy. When we drafted EJ, I remember the Florida State fans being surprised and saying "Good luck with that!". Lets hope he is the real deal but they really need to fortify the offense around him. -
Here is a quote from reporter Brandon Foster, who covered Wyoming football, as he explains the difference in the offense from 2016-17: "The O-line regressed and the run game disappeared. Allen actually became a bigger part of the offense, as Wyoming incorporated more QB keepers and read-option stuff out of necessity." That may explain why the pass % went down last year.

Why the Allen project may be different
Andy1 replied to Batman1876's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Allen project may be different too. The kid is undeveloped, has the intelligence to play the position, with an incredible natural ability to throw a football. Physically, he is a late bloomer who is still developing. He can make throws that very few people in the world can make. He does play too much hero ball at times which will need to be reigned in as he learns what he can and can't do in the NFL. His feet are a mess that cause him problems at times too - that needs to be fixed. I think he truly loves the game - when he throws in interception, he is going all out to tackle the opponent. After being told no repeatedly by colleges, he still had the belief in himself and love for the game to keep pushing. I just hope the Bills staff know how to develop him and just as important, us fans need to be patient with this project. He will make mistakes along the way, but I think the longterm payoff can be great.
