Herbert deal signed : 262M - 5 yrs extension

If Jimmy G even made a pro bowl, this might make a tiny bit of sense. Jackson was voted best player in the nfl. It’s a stupid comparison. -

Eckler is a million times better than any Baltimore running back. Lamar makes the running game special. also, it’s PFF, but it has Baltimore’s oline ranked 4th and the Chargers 9th. I like both guys but people love making excuses for Herbert while finding any reason to put Jackson down. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-offensive-line-rankings-2023-offseason I missed Jimmy G getting voted best player in the nfl after being the best player in college. Even when pplaykng with Deebo, Kittle, and Ayuk and half a season with CMC. comparing Jackson to Jimmy G is just flat out stupid. -

How did the guy who has way worse record than Lamar and zero playoff wins proven he can win more than him? That makes zero sense. And I’d lean towards Herbert but there are so many double standards in the way Herbert is viewed than Jackson, who has a MVP, much better record, and a playoff win. -

That was the knock against him coming out of college. Seems harsh that because a guy is quiet and an introvert it’s a bad thing but sometimes you do need to be the leader to get in your teammates’ faces. Personally, I’d rather play with a guy like Herbert than a dude like Marino who just would constantly scream at everyone. Allen has the perfect blend of fire and leadership. Honestly, I’d like him to get in Diggs face more. -

That’s valid. But the chargers always get talked about as SB contenders every year and they barely have a winning record with Herbert (flawed stat but elite qbs who make this money should have better than a 25-24 record). I really like him but if Jackson choked a way a 27-0 playoff lead, he would be getting crushed. I think Herbert gets the biggest pass in the league.- 131 replies

For this millionth time, this is not how it works at all. Unless you are going to do this for every top qb that gets signed. “Wow, Dan Marino is a steal!” and he is a stud but it’s funny how Lamar Jackson gets crushed for not winning enough while everyone loves Herbert. -
Giants and Barkley agree on a 1-year 11M deal

Yeah you really got me there! Translation: you’re too big of a kitty cat to bet that because you know you’re wrong. Hell, even do points per game when Barkley finishes games. I’ll slow it down for you simple Jack: the point is Barkley is much more important to the offense than Jones. Bet me coward! I’m not really sure what this point is. The qbs who gave the ball to McCaffery touched the ball more than him. Who’s more important to their team’s success? Or Tannehill vs Henry? -
It’s wild that the Bills are finally caring about the TE position. I love it, makes your offense so much more flexible.

One thing you can’t say about old man plastic face Jones is he isn’t cheap. Diggs needs to get over himself. He might be overrated but they have a top 5 defense and he’s a a part of if.

He’s in his 5th year in the nfl Dave. I’m what world is 22 totals, especially when 7 are rushing, are good for a qb in todays nfl? I would be like equivalent of a rb getting like 600 yards rushing also isn’t one of the reasons you pay a qb is they evaluate your team? It is very rare when you watch a Giants game snd think Jones is the reason the team wins Barkley is held back by the giants crappy oline and the terrible passing attack led by Jones. You kinda made the point of why Barkley is more important. No team fears Jones so they stack boxes and try to shut down Barkley. Barkley has played with a bottom tier qb his whole career. Imagine him with a good qb teams actually feared. He would be even better than now and he’s still really good. -

Without looking, I’ll bet you money the giants have a better record in games Barkley started and finished than Jones? You in? -

He had to protect his qb rating (higher than Kelly’s haha, what a joke). But he also won us that playoff game (he passed for like 100 yards while that bum Flutie only passed for like 400 yards!). He was a coward. I have family in Cali and he hated Buffalo. Dude was a joke and it’s absolutely insane some people still defend him. Might be the most unlikable bill of all time, slightly under OJ. -
Wait, you won’t care about our record if we win the SB??? Someone call the fire department to put out this scorching hot take!!!!! 🚒

Except none of this true. Not a single team worries about Jones. It starts and ends Barkley. It literally was the first non losing season of Jones’ career. He killed then with turnovers. In todays nfl, having 15 td passes as a full time starter is awful. It was bad in the 90s. It is horrible now. The best thing about Jones last year is he didn’t murder them with turnovers. He was essentially Tyrod on the Bills playoff team. your argument is the exact reasons why, besides the top guys, qb “wins” might be the dumbest stat in sports. According to this logic, the Ravens won because of dilfer and the Chiefs were dumb for drafting Mahomes because Smith “won.” -

You can easily replace Daniel Jones and his average seasons of 18 tds (passing & rushing), 8.5 ints, and 10.5 fumbles. zero issue with Mahomes and Allen getting paid what they do. They are worth every penny. But there is an major issue with Barkley, far away their best offensive player, getting almost 4 times less than a scrub like Jones. -

Fans love calling players names based on anonymous reports. Can’t believe some players get mad at fans! There’s truth in this but what about Brady then and all the 1st round bust qbs? -
This, on paper, is the best AFC East I can ever remember. There was always only one and occasionally 2 teams that were good. I think the Pats are only team that would shock me if they won the division, and they have a top 5ish defense and a good running game. the bills are still by far the favorites. But I can see the bills with a worse record being a better team than they were last year because we don’t have 5 guaranteed wins this year.
-
If they touch the ball too much, teams will be afraid to pay them because they had “too many Carrie’s.” If they touch the ball enough, they won’t get paid big money because they didn’t “carry the load.”
-
Agree with this. The Raiders’ offense is vastly superior to the Giants. Jacobs also seems like the type of back he will age poorly.
-
I really didn’t get the contract in the first place but that is awful for Hines. He’s going to have a time coming back from this. Wish him the best.

Honestly, good for Chad for sticking with it and finding success. However, he will be 30, has been kicked off almost every team he has been on, and is one of the dumbest people on the planet. but he hasn’t fought a teacher, had a temper tantrum and kicked footballs, tried to fight high schoolers, get attacked by vacuums, or threaten to shoot up a bar with an AK 47 in a while, so good on him. I can’t believe there are still RJ fans. It’s like flat earthers. Even though it means you’re insane for believing it’s flat, there are still people crazy enough to believe it. -

If I was Barkley, every time I look at Jones, I’m sick. It will be real interesting to see how many times he runs out of bounds or goes to the ground before contact. I think the Giants were complete flukes last year and they are going to regress big time this year. Will be real interesting to see Barkley (who by all accounts is a really good dude) lays it on the line. In the nfl for money, especially RBs, you need to be selfish. -
For those still upset we didn’t trade up for Jordan Addison…

Will Rising get drafted before the 7th? He’s a good college qb but that’s really all I see with him. He has nothing close to nfl caliber. Plus, he will be 25 at next years draft. He’s a qb so they get overdrafted but I think he will have a hard time sticking in the league. I really really liked both TEs. I think Mayer will be Witten 2.0 for Dallas. But I single handedly saw DK won games in college. I think his upside with Allen is tremendous. He has a chance to be one of the top pass catching “TEs” in football though he will struggle if he has to be more of a traditional one at this point.
