just you wait till Derek Anderson gets a couple starts. We will go from #32 in passing to, well 32. -

The Bills make the forward pass look so difficult compared to every other team, except maybe Tennessee and their QB has a throwing hand injury -
The main reason for hope is that despite almost no passing offense and barely scratching the surface of his NFL potential, he’s led the team to victories over the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans. That’s two NFL teams that wanted to rip his head off. And yes, defense was awesome, but he led the team. Winning NFL games is a hard deal.

If we March Peterman out there again...I will....
zow2 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Throw Peterman a bone and release him. If not, and you have to play him again do it at home. He played competent in the Indy snow game, until he got banged on the head. These road Peterman games have been Beyond brutal. A pick six in a tie NFL game under 2 minutes might be the worst thing a QB can possibly do. -
McDermott hangs up on Schopp and Bulldog
zow2 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn’t think he hung up, the hosts just abruptly said, thanks Sean and then dead air. But the interview was awkward from the start. Schoop was snarky as usual and his very first question ended with something along the lines of why is Nate on the team and “what do you see in Peterman that nobody else sees”? So immediately that probably put McD on notice but he answered as vanilla as he could and was polite. -

...just DVR the game, not watch live and hope for the best. I sat through the Ravens game in baltimore, not sitting through a live Peterman game again. -
Why can't Allen occasionally step up in the pocket to avoid the edge rushers and then fling it? I don't get why he has an aversion to doing that? Is it lack of coaching? Seems like QB 101 stuff. Even Mahomes did it several times last night. I get sometimes he has to run wide when the blitz up the middle overwhelms him.

I'd take both UB receivers on the Bills now, AJ and KJ Osborn. Seems like AJ is being super careful with the hamstring, no need to make it worse and possibly miss a Bowl game, and/or mess up his draft status due to injury. KJ is only a Junior but he reminds me of slightly smaller Anquan Boldin. Great hands, tough, gets open, not the fastest but fast enough. I haven't followed the rest of the good WR's out there but I'm sure there are plenty

I sincerely don't get all of the negativity.....
zow2 replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Josh Allen has had a couple of 250 yard games, there would be minimal negativity. People are irritable and negative since he doesn't look like the other rookie QBs in terms of his QB abilities outside his running. -
The NE vs. KC Game was garbage......
zow2 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It sure helps to have quality QB play. But it's also cool to see coaches that are innovators, not flat out copy cats. Are the Bills progressive or do anything innovative? Maybe on defense they run some interesting schemes. But on offense we are running the same stuff as the league has been running in the 1980's. -
Josh Allen likes to talk some smack on the field
zow2 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If 400 yards passing is the new 300, I'm not even sure what to make out of the fact we're rooting for our guy to reach 100 ?!? But anyway, yeah you go Allen. Keep talking smack to NFL defenders. I'm sure that won't get you killed. -
Is this the first coach staff firing of the 2018 season? I recall a couple years ago when the Bills fired Roman after week #2 I think.
-
Toledo in the glass bowl is gonna be a tough one. Need more from the passing game this week to keep up. If UB can step up to win this one, they could be looking at a 10-win season.

So who do we want to start at qb this Sunday?
zow2 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen, but only if he's near 100% healthy. Based on the look on his face sitting on the sidelines it seemed like an injury that might linger a bit. -
What Does McBeane See In Peterman?
zow2 replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well i think Nate is a true "off the field" professional and McBeane loves that character trait. They've spent countless hours tutoring him and giving him practice reps, film room study, preseason games, etc.. They finally saw a glimpse of what they thought he could be when he led the Bills down, threw a great TD pass and gave the Bills a 13-10 lead. So i can see why it's hard to cut the guy until the 3rd QB (DA) in the building is up to speed and shows in practice that he can complete some passes. Once that happens I think Nate is released, and I cannot imagine another team signing him based on the flaws he has -
The DB totally baited Peterman into throwing that. Just sat back, gave a little cushion and he broke on the ball the minute it was released. Doesn't help that Nate kind of threw the ball when he was back pedaling and stopped. He never even got maximum throwing power, which for him is very necessary.
-
That's the thing. Either Daboll and McD have shut him down? or Allen is just not throwing the ball anymore? In the last 3 games he has 36 completions for 317 yds, 0 TDs and 3 INTs. That is awful by any standards. So either let the kid rip a few downfield or pull him out and let him watch for a few games.
-
So it appears the Josh Allen injury will be the perfect excuse to sit him, regardless of how serious or day-to-day the injury is. If I'm McBeane, I look at the schedule and see Indy, NE and Chicago coming up. NO way do I want Allen to play on a Monday nighter vs, NE. Even if he plays at a higher level than we've seen, there's no chance he will he lead the Bills to enough points. And if he plays like he has, it will be an embarrassment to him and the organization. The Bears and their defensive talent and schemes will destroy Allen. So what I think will happen is Derek Anderson will play vs. Indy to get his feet wet. Hopefully he gets comfortable enough that we can get some competent QB play vs. NE and Chicago. Now do we have any faith in Anderson? That's another story Looks like the guy has only thrown 150 passes over the past 8 seasons. And he was never what I would say good.
-
I’ll say this in Allen’s defense. Just before his injury it looked like the light bulb finally came on for him. He threw that nice ball to KB (which DiMarco ruined). Then the second nice ball down the middle over the DB. That was beautiful. I think those passes gave him confidence to stand in and let it rip. Then the injury. Ugh. Hopefully he will improve in his next start

Thanks OP. I wanted to start a thread comparing him to Locker about a week ago but just didn't have the energy. I hated Locker's game coming out of Washington and I hated when Tennessee took him at #8 overall. I never saw what the experts saw in Locker and I told anyone that would listen that he would be a flop in the NFL. Well, all his running around finally got himself injured...and he had to be placed on the IR. When he was replaced, he ended up retiring early.
