Patterson is great. I don't think MAC players declare early for the NFL draft very often. Nowadays i worry more about the excellent UB players wanting to enter the portal and play at a bigger, more recognized program.

Never great to blow a 2 goal lead, but that's a game the Sabres would have absolutely lost in regulation last year. So it's good to see.. with the goaltending being better (so far) and the defense playing better...it resulted in a valuable point. One concerning aspect as told to me by a friend who attended the game.. the Sabres still don't possess the puck as much as they need to. That will catch up to them.

I don't like Trubisky at all. He definitely lacks a certain intangible needed to be a solid QB. But when Allen plays the Redskins this Sunday, keep in mind that Trubisky vs Washington this season was 25 for 31, 231 yards, 3 TD's, 1 int. sacked 3 times. Not amazing but we would be gushing if Josh had that production.

Glazer: Bills are still in market for a WR
zow2 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would not give up valuable draft picks for an oft injured wide receiver. I mean why? We have a QB that could be standing on the beach and couldn’t throw a bomb into the ocean. He’d overthrow the ocean!! -
Kinda feel like that Miami coach deserves better.
-
well, they had to play from behind vs Philly and he went 3 for 13, 9 yards. (10 straight incompletions to finish out the game).
-
not a chance It’s a cakewalk but Bills should win. wondering if it’s ok for me to expect the Bills to complete a long Pass in this game and maybe approach 300 yards passing? How about 270?
-
Jeez, after a win. Tough crowd.
-
Rudolph is so often backpedaling when he releases the ball. Such an awful QB.
-
Booger was shocked at that defensive call by Miami. But maybe just maybe it is a part of their “let’s make it look like we’re trying but strategically make dumb play calls”
-
yeah. I agree. Next 4 games are big for him. A chance to stack more wins and sling it around against average to below teams.
-
i think the Skins owner is trying to work a deal to “trade” for Tomlin this off-season. Keep an eye on that.

I love Fitz. He knows where everyone is supposed to be. He just plays football and slings it

No need to panic when we're still at 5-2
zow2 replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've gotten so fortunate this season with a great 5-2 start, easy schedule and and a very down AFC overall. They'd better not blow it. Nothing is guaranteed for next season. The AFC could be better and the Bills could get off to a 2-5 start. Make the playoffs this year please...just get in. -
It took until week #8 of his third season for Chicago's coach to have to come out and declare that Trubisky will remain the starter. The ESPN crew had a segment about it on Monday Night Countdown. Showed several examples yesterday of bad plays by Mitch or conservative play calls to protect the offense from making a critical error and losing the game. Of course they ultimately missed a FG and lost the game. I think it was Louis Riddick tonight that said the writing is on the wall. Nagy will be searching for a new QB in the offseason. He's bringing down the whole offense. And it's rough because they could have had Watson or Mahomes. Vrabel has already kicked Mariota to the curb. These coaches don't have time to wait around for a guy to flash some competent play. It's a tough business.

How we get to 10 wins and playoffs...
zow2 replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like we will lose one of Denver, Wash, Jets, Miami. and they will win one of Browns or Steelers. If they somehow lose 3 of those 6 games, no playoffs. -
Allen will be good, as long as what the OP suggested happens. Let Josh be Josh. Stop trying to make him into something he's not.
-
The designed runs are being over-used. I think we can agree. Teams are ready for it. What i want to see more of though is his insane scrambling ability when he can't find an open receiver. Take off and run dude....stop chucking it out of bounds and wasting downs. They've beaten that into his head. Newsflash-- the D ain't elite. We need more than 20+ points to win some games.

Lot's of threads going on with similar subject matter about Josh. As i said in another post. the coaches may now have to allow Josh to play more of his style of game...which is the opposite of the Robotic pocket passer guy they are forcing him to be. I've just about had enough with the chucking it out of bounds or at the Linemen's feet and wasting downs.. He needs to take off and run, make a play. He's a huge weapon. He doesn't have to hurdle guys,.. slide or go out of bounds.. manage the risk as best he can. He's also pretty good at throwing on the run when he scrambles. No one wants to see interceptions..but it happens. That's why teams want to see a 2:1 TD to INT ratio.
-
I hear you. I believe the thinking was that "our defense is so good let's not have Josh play Madden on the field and screw things up". Well, after Miami and Philly (and to some extent Cincinnati)...we've seen the defense can be beaten down. The coaches may now have to allow Josh to play a bit of his style of game...which is the opposite of Robotic pocket passer guy. Enough with the chucking it out of bounds or at the Linemen's feet and wasting precious downs.. Take off and run, make a play. He's a weapon. The Ravens have scored 20+ points in every game. They allow Lamar to be Lamar Jackson, the dual threat guy.. they're done with the Joe Flacco one dimensional stuff. But when he's asked to be a passer, he's accurately hitting guys down the field as well for some chunk plays.
-
I'll buy part of that. The system sounds complex and they definitely are trying to make Josh more of a stand-in-the-pocket guy. We can hope he's that kind pf passer someday but for now he's more Lamar Jackson than a Matt Ryan. They should let Josh be Josh and not some robotic, conservative, pocket passer who has 2.3 seconds to recognize coverages, break down defenses...and throw an accurate pass on top of it.
-
Agreed. People locally can't seem to judge this QB's performances honestly. He's a great guy, seems to have a high QB IQ level. We all want him to do well. As for garbage time... it's just woeful that they couldn't string together some short passes and dump off's to move down the field late. The Eagles were just giving Buffalo the middle of the field....and they couldn't take it. Every NFL game has that aspect. One poster told me it's Daboll's fault because we don't have a good screen game. please. lol.

Alot of people on this board aren't seeing this. It's another denial thing where Josh is fine,.... it's the OC, play calling, O-line, RB's can't catch, receivers stink, etc.. Bottom line, it's a combination of all the above.. But this QB has to be better, and soon. The coaching staff wants him to be anchored in the pocket, scan the field and recognize the defense in 2 seconds, and make an accurate pass... That's what Bean and McDermott want him to do. He's not doing it successfully...Yet. When he does it well, I will be his biggest cheerleader.

That's not really true. The score was 24-13 and the Bills had a great chance to make it 24-20 with THREE straight possessions that literally went nowhere. one of which was in excellent field position. The Eagles got that final nail-in-the-coffin TD after the O failed miserably when the team needed them to step up. I'd give Allen a solid D grade yesterday.
