Ryan Finley (QB) plays tonight for NC State. I like the guy. He's already 24 years old and looks like a polished QB to me, throws around 68% completions.

Miami OH-30 Ohio-28 MAC East all but clinched for UB
zow2 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in College Football
Well that’s fantastic. Didn’t see that coming. Thank you Miami. Should make the path easier for UB. -
Ha. He's just starting to look and act like a Dr. Evil or something?!? what a strange dude. He should not be given the keys to an NFL franchise. Like giving a porche to a 16-year old party animal.

Maybe. But I've been told several times we have this really solid defense. So if an old vet QB, who has not taken a live snap this season can roll in off the bench and shred our defense, then UGH! i think that would be very deflating indeed.

We gotta find a way to lose this one boys.

It doesn't really matter about wanting losses,,because NO ONE in the NFL is trying to lose games on purpose. Teams may not have the same talent level but those who are playing, and coaching are trying to win. These guys jobs/careers depend on it. Losing and non-production gets people fired and/or smaller contracts. I can guarantee that McDermott is desperate to beat the Jets this weekend as are the coaches for the Raiders, Cardinals, Giants, etc.. -
#35 (AP) #21 (USAToday) UB - 48 Kent St.-14 9-1 best UB record ever

Yeah, it's tough. If he gets offered $2M from some P-5 school to bolt, UB can't match that. But maybe he likes WNY and being a big fish in a small pond so to speak. He seems to like stability.... and starting over somewhere else (going through the growing pains process) may not be appealing. Hopefully with the new indoor practice facility on the horizon, any potential new coach would not be starting from scratch anymore. That facility looks really nice. UB should be able to reload in the MAC arms race going forward. -

Yup. Pay the man, or go back to the unknown and maybe be a bottom feeder again. After we played Rutgers, there was a 5-page thread on their board about Leipold and their fans wanting RU to hire him. His name is out there and it's up to UB administration to keep him around. -

No. If he's not mentally tough enough to handle the learning curve and adversity, then he won't cut it in the NFL. I don't believe you get better by sitting and watching for a season. And for all his faults, Allen has led the Bills to two NFL victories. That's not an easy thing to do for this club. So play him. -

I'm off any "Let's lose" talk. Win the game. Win every game and get Allen in there now. I don't care if he takes his lumps. -

Maybe so. As long as they can keep Leipold and his staff here. -

Nice win by UB,.. pretty boring actually. They emptied the bench like 3 mins into the 3rd Qtr. That Patterson kid is an awesome RB. The Bulls have great depth at RB and last night was all about keeping the ball on the ground in those conditions. Ohio is playing their best ball right now and I think they beat Miami tonight. I *hope* Miami can pull an upset but not counting on it. It's bizarre that UB may have to go undefeated in the MAC to win the East. Winning at Ohio with all the chips on the line will be a tough game for sure. If Ohio wins at Miami and vs. UB, then I give them all the credit. Two tough games and they need em both. -

I also wanted Buf to draft Watson at the time... not one cell in my being wanted Mahomes. And clearly I failed to recognize a good talent there! -

I love the Bulls and they're having a great season. But i certainly wouldn't pick them to beat teams they are ranked ahead of like Penn St, Auburn, Florida or Oregon on a neutral field.. Not sure the basis of that USAToday poll other than wins/losses. -
I get what you're saying, but overall i don't think it will hamper the Bills ability to sign FA's too much. Players want $ and a chance to start. They will have that here. BUF has a young, big arm QB here and a commitment to get much better on offense. Also, the intangibles such as the "college like" atmosphere and BillsMafia has circulated around the league and nationally. Players enjoy being a part of that stuff. Not all, but some will want to come here. And the draft picks will have no choice in the matter.

A Few Thoughts about the Bears Game, in no particular order
zow2 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right about now, Chad "gonna spray this place with my AK" Kelly... is looking like a pretty good option. -
Sometimes i think it can be accidental. I used to sell some of my tickets on Craigslist and get payment through Paypal. I also had them listed on NFL Ticket exchange. Sometimes the buyer had me mail the hard tickets to them. I recall nearly forgetting to pull them off of ticket exchange. Once the barcode is re-issued, the hard tickets are useless. Which I think is the reason hard tix are getting phased out.

Starting to lean towards the side of the fence that says they went 9-7 with a lot of the former regime's players. Now that they've had a chance to mold and shape the team the way THEY want, it's a disaster on the O side of the ball. That being said I give them a break due to the fact that two prominent O-linemen left the program. I want to give McDermott a mulligan this season since he is the head coach that helped break the drought. But all these blowout losses with zero offense.... I'm losing faith that he can get that side of the ball figured out.

I was thinking about the D last night. You know behind the scenes those players are furious...but they have to put on a different face for the public of course. If McD was smart, he'd be having meetings with the defense only, and letting them know they are the unit that's holding the team together. He better be pumping them up ALOT.

I posted the below from the college football board, (which about 10 people look at). So I'll say it again here. I think Anthony Johnson will go higher than expected...and he should be going to the Buffalo Bills. I know Dallas wants him and many others. The Bills should not be passing up on any more high NFL draft talent like this in their own backyard. The guy is polished & smooth, he catches the ball with his hands and he makes all kinds of contested receptions. His size and speed are fine. He knows how to get open and you can just see he is an NFL talent. If the Bills pick in the #3-5 range maybe they trade down a few spots, acquire more draft pick(s), and take AJ closer to where he is projected,,,,mid-1st rounder. But if there's a run on WR's it wouldn't surprise me if he's picked in top 15.
-
He ripped Cam Newton for being a lousy QB that affected his stats. The same Cam who threw for 400+ yards in his first ever start in the NFL. Can you imagine what he thinks of the Bills offense and QB situation? Lol. He probably can't even believe Buffalo is in the same league as Carolina. But anyway, he is all that was said above and I can't wait until he's gone.
-
Let's put it this way. I was bummed out when they released Rod Streater and Nick O'Leary. Ugh.

I guarantee if you're sitting in a room talking candidly with the Pegulas, they Did not expect to be THIS BAD. This is an embarrassment and hurts the Bills brand.
