JA talks to Tom Brady and Jim Gray about Bills Mafia
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't figure out if he had work done or just looks old. If he did have work done, I think I'd ask for a refund. -
Montez Sweat Massive New Contract
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah but the one thing RW was known for was not paying high $$ for coaches sop that hurt the team overall. -
Agree. At this point the Bills want/need someone better than a rookie backup to Allen. Likely they've done the past couple of seasons had an experienced vet there. So the rookie would be the #3 QB likely cut and assigned to the PS and also likely someone another team would poach very quickly. Maybe a 7th rounder who hasn't done a whole lot has a chance of sticking or a guy who's been around the block a few times and other teams have little interest in.

NFL Scheduler Really Hated the Bills this Year
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall
Who every team plays home and away has nothing to do with a scheduler. That is predetermined years in advance and based on what place they finish in. Yes the exact order does have more manual intervention, but as the commercial states, it's still mostly done by computer As for the late bye, recall reading the Bills requested that. They could have had it after returning from London, but instead requested it for later. They also requested to play their overseas game sometime either this year or next as didn't want to lose a home game once the new stadium opened. The only real thing they got screwed on was that Jax got to stay in London the week prior. -
While I agree I also don't like the shotgun snaps from the goal line I do wonder if; prior to the NE game, G Davis commented that they needed to run more plays the felt more comfortable with. Josh has stated he prefers being in shotgun. So do wonder if they are running those plays at Josh's request, that it's not really a Dorsey thing? If is the case, understand Dorsey could over rule him but do wonder if that could be behind it ?

Week 9 thread - We’re on to Cincinnati
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Any injuries this week on the O-line, blame it on Joe B in the Athletic! He just gave us the kiss of death! It’s helped that the Bills have stayed healthy on the offensive line -
Bears CB Jaylon Johnson Requests to be Traded
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in The Stadium Wall
So was the asking price too high for what the Bears wanted or did they talk about what this guy wanted to sign a long term deal and that was too high? As the Bills were not interested in basically giving up draft picks for a rental?? -
Good chance he's traded in the off season. More moves tend to happen then anyway. Or maybe it just takes him awhile to get it and will become good. There's a fairly good size list of players who everyone here wanted to be cut/traded but turned out to be a decent player. Oliver comes to mind at the top of the list along with AJ.

No Bills were fined from their week 7 game!! That'sa first! Wait, that's right, Ed Oliver didn't play

Giants Jets game - Daboll's call to attempt a FG
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they made the 1st down on 4th and one, game over. If they get stopped about the same amount of time left as clock stopps on change of possession and would need to go another 7 or 8 yards further. Having said that, tend to agree may have been smarter to go for it. -
Bills signing Fournette (for real this time)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I suspect he'll sign for much more than the normal PS salary so any team wanting to poach him will need to pay more than he's getting. Plus if a team wanted him, they could have signed him right now just like the Bills apparently have. I've also read that when a player on a teams PS is potentially being poached the agent gives the team who he is currently on the PS for first dibs to match and sign him to their own 53. -
Trade deadline needs what are your priorities
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Xwnyer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I'm sure if D Jones were still playing Williams/Dodson/Poyer would look much better at LB. Think an improvement at DT would be the biggest help both in stopping the run and pressuring the QB, not letting him step up. One thing you can on every year is the Ravens looking good in Sept and Oct. -
Do You Watch NFL When The Bills Aren’t On?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll watch, but not intently, probably do split screen. Two weeks ago when they played the Giants on Sunday night, wasn't even a good game to watch in the afternoon. -
Yeah I read it's 6 weeks if they can match him with a cadavers leg, 8 weeks if they are forced to use a pigs leg.

Would you be for "Eye in the Sky" officiating?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't about the sky, but I'd like to see an official up in a man list 20 feet high that goes up and down the sideline aligned with the LOS. Preferably one on each sideline. There'd have to be some safety involved that the list driver doesn't run over a player or two. -
Do you think the offense was better yesterday?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
To answer your question, did they look better? First I crossed out all the stats Forget the stats, they looked much better with the eye ball test against Tampa. The NE game they almost won, but if they had, didn't deserve it. Last night they won, but almost lost, but handily deserved to win. And the difference was the offense. -
Fitzpatrick's veiled criticism of Dorsey?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I agree being in shotgun seems really dumb and not defending it, I too was not happy seeing that. But does make me wonder if: Last week prior to NE game, G Davis was quoted as saying something along the lines of "We need to run more plays were most comfortable with" So does make me wonder if Allen keeps telling Dorsey, I want to be in shotgun as I recall reading more than once Allen prefers shotgun.?? -
Which Player Would You Want In A Trade?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
If I can only pick one I'd go with Hopkins, but overall, my first choice is a DT-1/ nose tackle. IMO that hurts them the most as also exposes Williams and Bernard more. Getting a good DT-1 makes LP play much stronger in the process. The Bills are a pass first team so don't see the value in Henry and will Allen really pass it much to Hopkins or is everythign still going to go through Diggs? -
Why do the Bills always defer when they win the coin toss?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
To the best of my knowledge that never happened. What did on rare occasions happen was if it was an extremely windy day a team may rather than choose to kick off or receive, or defer would choose which end of the field to defend. That would then allow the other team to choose to receive the 1st half and again tin the 3rd quarter. That happened more in the "3 yards and a cloud of dust" era, (or when the French Connection came out) now I think with offenses being better overall and stronger leg kickers, that hasn't happened in years. -
Why do the Bills always defer when they win the coin toss?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
Were you just as annoyed by this practice two years ago when in most games, they'd stop the other teams opening drive, then get the ball and drive down the field and score a TD, then also score right before the half and on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter? -
If the Bills defense is healthy, they're 6-1 right now
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not even sure you need to include White in there, but Jones, Milano and this past week Oliver. Read many posts that injuries are no excuse, but how many teams have lost probably their 4 best defensive players (including Oliver this past week) That's more uncommon. Article yesterday said Bills lead the league in percentage of players on IR and that's not including Knox if he goes there. -

Why is everyone focused on the Offense here?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
How do those numbers look like over the past 3 games? I highly doubt they are #3 then. 10 points total scored before halftime in 3 games. The offense went from average 35 points per game in the first four games to 20 in the past three and averaging 3 points a game up to halftime. So yes I do blame the offense more than the defense. Regardless this thread was about the Bills offense and defense, has nothing to do with NE and how good, bad, or ugly they are playing and what injuries they have.
