Intrigue Builds Over Eagles' 2023 Late Season Collapse
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kind of funny that Schefter questioned Carton’s motive and then turns around and does the same thing except playing the opposite side of the story that it didn't happen. And that’s what qualifies as a report; you can just go say whatever you want, and it gets clicks, and people care about it -
Jimmy G hit with a PED suspension
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Based on how he played, that may be a reach. Got a better chance sponsoring a competing product: "I should have used the other one, then I'd still be starting!" -
Agree, I'd cut him if I could. But he has to pass a physical by March 11th, then the Bills have leverage and can cut him or convince him it's in his best interest to take a big cut. But if he can't pass then no reason for White to do anything, but sit back and collect the money the Bills are required to pay him.
-
Never happen. Players typically take injury settlements when they were placed on IR, but have now fully recovered and can then get money from the team giving them the settlement, and then basically double dip and sign with another team. In White's case there is effectively no IR list in the off season and he wouldn't be ready to play right now anyway. For those reasons, can't see the injury settlement coming into play here unless he's still not ready to go in Sept, but was healthy by say November and won't happen till then either.
-
Because until he can pass a physical he can't be cut. So come March 11th or whatever the exact day is, all his bonuses kick in and the Bills are on the hook for that, but they also can't cut him as I stated unless he can a pass a physical which is not likely. So why would White agree to a pay cut unless he's somehow rewarded? The Bills can cut him later on, but by then they would have had to have cut a couple other players to get under the cap in March. And for White he then got the money from the Bills in March and can then sign later on with another team. So put all these things together, I'd say White can dictate terms pretty well.

OK smart guy, tell me this, will Tre White pass a physical by the first day of the new "NFL financial season" which starts in March? Do you know that? Because if he can't pass it they can't cut him. So then it very quickly becomes a choice of we have to pay him most of the money anyway so even if he's limited, in the long run is it better to keep him as we'll need to pay him a ton sometime later to cut him as after March he's now guaranteed a bunch of money, plus then paying additional money to whomever replaces him. So are they really even saving anything. As for Hamlin, he's is on a very cheap rookie contract, so again where do you think you'll find someone cheaper and even better as the 4th or 5th safety?
-
But that's exactly what could have happened if the 49's had kicked off. The only guaranteed walk off is the 3rd possession which the team that took the ball first in OT gets. Not saying I agree with them taking the ball for other reasons, but the walk off argument just isn't one of them.

Exactly, too many posters here are way too easily slighted by everything not pro Bills.

Sexy Rexy interviewed for Cowboys DC position
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
He seemed to have run a rather complicated scheme then over the years other teams figured it out, so Rex made changes, but then was to the level was too hard for players to think quick enough and react. Probably would work good in Madden on computer simulation. -
Bobby Babich Staying, Promoted to DC!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Read an article today how Baltimore lost their DC to head coaching job, then an defensive assistant to a DC job. I'm surprised they didn't promote one of their own earlier to avoid this. From Athletic article: The Ravens’ offseason is not even a week old yet and their vaunted defense has already lost its defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald (head coach of the Seattle Seahawks), assistant head coach/defensive line coach in Weaver (defensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins) and defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson (defensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans) The Ravens are currently paying the price of that success. -
Was there also an NFL referee with a very similar name? When I first saw the title of this thread ,I assume it was about an official dying.

Doug Marrone out as Saints OL Coach

I wonder if Belichick had been taking advice from him this off season? -

Josh has a choice to make, he can pull out from under center, or.....

Maybe if we traded Miller and our #1 pick for a 6th or 7th rounder we could get someone to take him. So he's done as you said, which not arguing for or against, but then why would anyone else take him? Can't afford to cut either Diggs and Miller and nobody is trading for those contracts unless we really sweetened it..

The Most Embarrassing Day in Bills’ History
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
I always felt it's unlikely any other coach could have got the Bills back to 4 straight SB's than Levy, but would have gladly switched coaches for that one game. Likely would have resulted in a win or two. Also felt of the 4, the only one the Bills were clearly the better team was the 1st one against NY. If that had been our 2nd SB appearance, think we'd have been better prepared and won. The other three, IMO the better team won, but the Bills never even made it close. In fairness Polian was let go for things more off the football field. Allegedly cursing out RW's daughter certainly didn't help. -
Three Potential Landing Spots For Tee Higgins
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Read awhile back somewhere that for the most part players that are really good or great, either get re-signed or tagged before they ever hit the market. And the ones that do become actual free agents, there's often a reason for it i.e. T Edmunds. There are some that are good signings, but not that many and most of the good ones that are worth the money they sign for are the ones that get signed weeks after FA starts. -
2024 Bills Schedule Very Early Updates
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd think the home team in Brazil will be an NFC team as this year the NFC gets the extra 9th home game. That is one thing good about going to 17 game schedule whichever conference has the extra home game, they assign most of them as the home team in Europe and no reason to believe difference for Brazil. -
Sneak peak of the Madden 2025 cover

I'd rather see her up in the box than the Kraft or Jones family when Dallas or NE are playing. Well it's not terrible when Dallas is losing. -

Why the Josh Allen hate (draft reaction)?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not going to try and find it but watch the Howard Simon show the next day how he was also in full melt down. He was a risky pick at the time as many posters already stated and many were not happy. Having said that, easy for someone to create a video just containing the people who for the most part hated the pick.
