  1. Yes it's all these "fans" who don't like Beane and McD so this is an easy thing to blame him for, he let him get away. But highly likely Buffalo was the last place he wanted to re-sign with. Wouldn't surprise me either if the Bills had heard rumors about this either before they drafted him, or at a minimum heard about it prior to the story breaking over the summer. Likely asked Araiza about it, and I'm sure justifiably denied it all, but maybe did withhold some info from the Bills and didn't give them the full story about what may come out. So the Bills may feel he wasn't totally honest with them either and for that reason had no desire to go after him.
  2. Why would he want to sign back with the team that cut him for likely from his perception, no good reason? And not implying Bills didn't have a good reason, but player didn't agree with it.
  3. could be from a ratings standpoint, they know putting a west coast team in a 1:00 time slot hurts,. Having 2 eastern time zone teams playing at 1 is better for overall ratings??
  4. Someone needs to start this!! https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2024&wk=1 One thing that surprised me was I thought last year both the first and last week of season both networks carried a double header game?? This year only Fox for week 1 This link was always one of my top 5 highlights of my week.
  5. Hmm I missed that part about being able to customize multi view. That was my one gripe last season. Good to know. I have two houses so I'm able to use YTTV in both locations, saves me from paying for a Spectrum type service in two locations. In my main location my primary viewing is a TIVO DVR connected to an antenna. I just use YTTV for viewing non over the air stuff like ESPN, etc. admittedly don't use it much overall.
  6. The other thing that I felt I saw happen was once ATT bought DTV, they told them you can't keep giving ST out for free to so many people like you were or even DTV discounts were harder to come by. Some still got it free, but it took more effort and often wasn't as good of a deal as prior, maybe just a discount instead of free.
  7. Can't you get it if you upgrade to their sports package? Thought I saw that someplace?
  8. ABC and ESPN are all working for me on YTTV. From what I've read the issues is only with Direct TV and it's streaming platform. This article even kind of suggests switching to YTTV to avoid issue. One of the things I've even been thinking about is seems YTTV rarely has these disputes like the other providers do. Makes me wonder if the providers are afraid of Google and don't want to get on their bad side as feel Google has to much power to hurt them in other ways? https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/2024/09/02/youtube-tv-how-to-watch-disney-directv-dispute-espn/75048606007/
  9. Well there's has been many posts over the years suggesting this so hard to tell who is serious and who is kidding.
  10. So you want to reduce the practice time this player gets at WR to have him hold?? This isn't 1980 where the coach could just tell the player to stick around and extra 1/2 hour to work with the kicker. This is why back up QB's rarely hold anymore for the same reason, they don't want to further reduce the limited amount of practice time they get. And now you want top make it even worse by using a WR??
  11. Yes but the problem is if they punish him before he's been proven guilty of anything then it's a situation harmful to the player and the NFLPA would immediately step in and the league would likely lose any case. When you factor in that an NFL players career on average lasts less than 4 years, pushing the can down the road is the best outcome for the player. Technically It's not the players job to make the league look good, but the league can't look good without the players. Makes for a tough situation all around for the league. They are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't!
  12. Article I was reading the other day about Belichick chasing Shula all time win record. It showed this graphs of wins per season for both of them and was amazing how level and consistent Shula's win per year was over entire career. BB started out low in the Cleveland years and again tailed off big time last few years.
  13. Could be Mike Brown didn't know what a private equity firm is??
  14. And then bring Tomlin back for another year.
  15. Yeah and while they will never admit it publicly, the moves they made and more the moves they didn't make says this is a reset year. Many here complaining about the WR group and how they didn't do enough, should have signed a Diggs type replacement. That's not likely happening without continuing to be up against the cap. They made moves to get younger and cheaper cap wise.
  16. Here's what one website said about that: Why is Drafting Players so Difficult? Drafting players is difficult at least in part because the scouting and evaluating part is the easy part. The more difficult part is developing the players that you drafted. How well players respond to coaching, and to a league where a player’s physical gifts are no longer a major advantage, are part of the factors that are difficult to assess pre-draft. How much work and discipline a player will exhibit after being handed millions can be an issue too. Player development may also be affected by coaching ability, team culture, and fit in the particular scheme. And there are other issues too that can impact draft success as well. Injuries. Off-field issues. Five first-round picks (of 14) for the Vikings over the last ten years had their careers derailed by injuries (Matt Kalil, Shariff Floyd, Teddy Bridgewater, Mike Hughes) or off-field incident (Jeff Gladney) that couldn’t have been anticipated in the pre-draft process. That was over a third of the Vikings’ total first-round picks. And beyond Day One picks, teams are drafting players that have either some flaws, are more raw, haven’t faced top competition, have injury or off-field issues, or some combination of all four. All that leads some of the best drafting GMs, like Eric DeCosta of the Ravens, to say the NFL Draft is a luck-driven process. And that being the case, better to have more lottery tickets than less. Rick Spielman was a firm believer in that philosophy as well, which is also based on the idea that NFL teams undervalue later round picks, and overvalue first round picks, based on the history of draft pick compensation and actual player performance from each draft pick slot.
  17. Just looked at a couple of websites, the average number of 5th rounds that stick around is very low. Depending on which site you go by, it's somewhere between 15% to 40% So no not disappointing, just normal.
  18. Every year there's some Bills play er who wins what I call the Duke Williams award given to the player who everyone here is convinced will be grabbed up in second, but doesn't. It shows you that NFL front office types and coaches, know what a true NFL roster player looks like more than most here do.
  19. True, and he's better at ST than Jonathan though not convinced Jonathan isn't the better pass rusher. Still surprised me a little. May also be the case the front office is convinced they can get Jonathan onto the PS where as Toohill may not want to join PS
  20. Realistically how do you know if he's any good or not as never seen him. Maybe that was the Bills plan, they knew what they had with him so didn't need to play him.
  21. The move that maybe surprised me the most based on everything I'd read and seen posted was keeping Toohill over Jonathon at DE
  22. Kersey was bit more surprising with all the churn the team had at LB last year. Wasn't much faith in Bernard last August. Likely only going to keep 4 DT's so you got the two starters and the 3rd round rookie, so only one spot left. From things I'd read, the only way for him to make the team would be if they kept 5 DT's, but also 2 of the the DE's can slide inside, so again made keeping 5 less likely.
  23. I don't let facts get in the way of a good argument
  24. Yeah was a bit surprised too and while I agree with your loose cannon comment, you could argue the Burrow is also a wild card in keeping him on the field. Realistically Burrow had one good year 2022, even last year he didn't start off very good.
  25. How long before Diggs demands a new deal?
