Does it feel different NOW? (#3)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The things this season so far have proved: We're not as void of talent as many of the experts both nationally and on this board thought. Coaching may really make a bigger difference than talent does. We still have six picks next year in the first 3 rounds which can be used to improve many positions. The only downside to this is IF we want a potential top 5 pick QB, maybe need to give up all the picks to get up there as opposed to with a 4-12 record, may have only needed to give up half the picks -
I had to shut off the WGR post game
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All these shows are the same. Lebatard and Stugotz is the same way, if you get Stugotz away from him, he's not bad. Same with Bulldog I don't live in western NY, is WGR still the flagship station?? -
What if we still had Hogan & Gillislee?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BBills14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand, no team signs him the Bills own him. But did he really want to be here ,and if not do you want to have a backup RB on the team that doesn't really want to be here. And yes in fantasy land it doesn't matter, the Bills own him end of story. But when talking about professional football players, or any sport for that matter, or even in life in general, you don't want people forced into a job they really don't want. -
Yes you're correct, we would have had a full year. But what if he did get hurt again or hurt enough that he's not worth signing. It's not just the amount of games he was out, but also the number of games he played nicked up and was pretty much in-effective. Just like now concussion protocol. So if at a the end of the year, you decided he wasn't worth signing, you'd get nothing in return as then way to late to trade for anything other than a bag of peanuts. Trading now you got a 2nd round pick and a CB who's looking pretty good so far. I'm not saying they should have made the trade or not, but your position of "we would have a full year" doesn't take into account you could very likely be walking away with nothing to show for it.

Something I don't think I've seen anyone mention with regards to Mike G. Did anyone consider that maybe he told the Bills that he didn't want to re-sign with them, that he wanted to go to a team where he could potentially start or a team with a "shared backfield" Yes I understand the Bills hold all the cards they tender him, he has no choice, yada, yada, yada..... But this isn't Madden or fantasy football, this is professional football players here and few if any teams want a player on their team that doesn't want to be there unless he's so good he justifies the franchise tag. But this is a backup RB here we're talking about. It was reported that the Bills had negotiations with him, but couldn't agree on a deal, so lets assume Mike told the Bills he wanted to go elsewhere, the Bills could have just let him walk and get nothing. They could as many here have ripped the Bills for not doing, gave him the higher tender which would have meant any team signing him would have been giving up a higher pick to us. The Bills front office has been doing this a bit longer than people on this message board, and likely would know that other teams wouldn't sign him with the higher tender hanging over him, so they would either have to sign him to the higher tender (was it $750k) for a back up RB or let him walk. So instead the Bills did the smart thing signed him for the lower tender thinking there was a decent chance some other team would bite on him and they would at least get something in return. I realize this doesn't fit the narrative of many here on this board that are so much smarter than professionals who do this for a living and I'm making alot of assumptions, just like many here do everyday, except somehow their opinion is factual at least in their own mind it is. -
No more XX Bills fans (Title edited)

So here's some examples of how well tanking worked out. (just listing QB's) David Carr Alex Smith Tim Couch Jamarcus Russell Akili Smith #3 overall Rick Mirer #2 overall Heath Shuler #3 overall Ryan Leaf #2 overall Yes but in the NFL particularity today with the CBA rules limiting practice, with two QB's every year, there wouldn't be enough time to even look at the tickets to determine if you have a winner. I've read where the #2 QB every week gets about 6 reps per week with the #1 offense. So based on that limited time to show your stuff how is drafting two QB's a year every going to tell you anything? -
If The Scheme Isn't Broke Why Change It ??
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I don't understand is why anyone who follows football enough to post on a message board, doesn't get this. It's nothing unique , every team does it. Sometimes you get lucky and the new guy follows the same scheme as the old guy and will keep some of the staff, but not often. Likely if the team had hired Lynn, the offense staff would have been kept more in place and followed the same scheme, however I don't think you should give a preference as to who you may hire based on "I want to get a guy who coaches a certain style." There are a couple of posts here implying Pegula isn't smart enough to understand that and should have insisted they kept the coaches. Doing that, insisting they keep coaches if anything would prove he doesn't understand the process. Pegula did the smart and correct thing. But bringing up these things gives the people who want to blast everything the Bills do, another reason to complain. -
Lower Bowl seating - Obstructed views??
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to supertutor13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I sat in the 2nd row around the 25 and couldn't see much of anything looking through bench area. From my seats to the goal line were fine, but when I had to look through the bench area, very difficult. I yelled Down in front a number of times , but didn't seem to help! !0 rows up you're fine. I would avoid bottom 5 rows or so. Speaking of seating. Trying to recall around 15 years or so ago, sat in Club Level seats at the Ralph. Seems I recall in the lounge areas there were large windows that you could still view the game live while eating or drinking. Is that true?? Was sitting in club level this weekend in Carolina too hot to stay in seats very long, in the lounge area very limited ability to see the field. They had TV monitors, but for the most part the larger screens were tuned to out of market games. -

I would disagree. Comments like these give more free advertising to the show and helps keep them relevant and on the air. My son Jeremy thanks the OP! -

Anyone ever taken the Light rail to the gme? Staying in Southpark area, thinking about getting on at the 485 station as would allow for a fast getaway afterwards straight out 485 South. Wondering how often they run and how close to the stadium it gets you. And what is the fare? I actually have free stadium parking, but thinking may be easier leaving via the train. -

Yes, buy them there all the time, the place I meant is an actual restaurant JJ's Red hots, but see that's not in Concord, thought I saw another place there to that you could get them at cooked if you wanted. -

I'll be there 300 level around 40, not sure which side. I believe there's a place up in Concord that sells Sahlens Hot dogs. Place where I live in eastern NC has a great beef of weck. Just can't get any damm good wings. -
Does anyone know Rod Streater's status?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually isn't there some type of rule the one team you can't resign with is the team who gave you the injury settlement? -
But is this model really working for them? Seems all you hear all over is "no way am I paying for a subscription" I'm sure there are many that do pay, but would they be further ahead with putting ads on the pages? There's just too much free stuff out there to justify paying. Since the TV and radio stations aren't competing for print, they'll likely always be free so that takes away many who'd even think about paying.
-
So I know these forums are run by people here who contribute. Is Two Bills drive also run by the same group?? If so maybe should consider putting all the BN articles at the bottom of the que instead of the top since most can no longer access. Put the frees ones on top like Syracuse. If they realize their clicks will go down, may make them think more about what they are doing with the paid access.

Most Phins /Bucs fans live in the Florida area and likely at this point the last thing they are thinking about is Sundays game. they were talking this morning about the neutral site and was brought up how the players would probably rather be home with their families than away some place, and maybe not able to get back afterwards too.
