  1. Everyone in a crashing plane puts on oxygen masks too--does that validate that system's life saving capabilities?
  2. As is true with any of us in general, and to any of the earthly matters we choose to attend to, in specificity.
  3. Youre going to see a lot of this in the coming years as quarterbacks from this era retire and take to the booth. The rules put in place to protect quarterbacks over the last decade weren't to save their arms, knees and feet, but their brains--lose too many of the good QBs to concussions too often, and you're left with a league full of Buffalo Bills: middling franchises with no saviors. If you buy the theory that the NFL knew about the detrimental effects of concussions before the general public, then it's a short leap to think they were protecting the brains of the only position on the field that needs to think at that level. A personality helps too, but Romo never struck me as a very deep guy from his locker room interviews. Guys like Cutler, Rogers, Fitzpatrick, Luck, Dalton, Flacco, Carr, etc. etc. etc. are getting knocked around at about 10% the rate of the guys like Gannon, Tasker, Aikman, Simms did during their career--when they eventually take to the booth, the color commentators are going to outstrip the play by play guys, in terms of interesting banter, by a wide margin.
  4. This thing could still hit the Carolinas, but if it does impact Miami as a CAT5, they might not play a home game this year.
  5. It was on this day that Matter2003 decreed that speculation and conjecture must be banned from the internet, and all people accessing this technology should hold off on forming opinions until all matters have resolved themselves, and official government agencies have disseminated officially acceptable and correct public stances for us to adopt! For anyone willing to step out of line and think for themselves: There is potential for this hurricane to impact the Carolinas, during a time frame that the Buffalo Bills are scheduled to travel there. That may not happen. Nothing in the thread title or body of my OP is misleading, or painting a picture of a definitive reality. If the storm were to track as the model below shows, it would absolutely lead to the relocating of the game. https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/gfs/2017090312/gfs_mslp_wind_seus_35.png No one knows where it is going to land, and it may very well blow out to sea. It's not "false reporting" to discuss hypotheticals, it's just an interesting weather related scenario that could impact Buffalo's season. A feat so incredibly rare that it hasn't happened since... 3 years ago when their game vs. the Jets was moved to primetime in Detroit because of a snow storm. I can tell by your referencing AMWAPO as a news source that the course of world affairs has left you in it's wake, angrily lashing out at those around you as they assimilate and disseminate news at a rate which leaves you able only to throw out platitudes like "fake news!" Sorry gramps, but its your job to keep up, not my job to massage your sensitivities.
  6. The Buffalo Bills are scheduled to play the Carolina Panthers, in Carolina, on 9/17. As of right now, Hurricane Irma is too far out to sea to get an accurate prediction--but as the models have started to coalesce, they're showing a CAT5 slamming into the Carolinas on 9/11. Because of the size of the storm, it has the ability to bring serious wind and rain (CAT4) inland as far as Charlotte: https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/gfs/2017090300/gfs_mslp_wind_seus_35.png If this model were to hold, and it were to happen on that date, it would not only make practice impossible for the Panthers leading up to the game that week--but the logistics/optics of hosting a pro football game would become nearly impossible just 5 days later. The NFL could theoretically relocate the game to a neutral site, but what would be the benefit to doing that? Very few Carolina fans would be able to travel, and it's unlikely 60,000 Buffalo fans would be able to fill a neutral site stadium with 3 days of a heads up. Also: if the path of this storm remains unpredictable, or if it shifts to impact Florida/VIRMARDEL, other game day locales could be affected as well. The NFL could simply move the game location to Buffalo, and give us an extra home game. It would also mean we start the season with 3 straight home games. As you keep an eye on Irma's path, keep this one in the back of your mind. Happy Labor day.
  7. Thank you. I watched the video and was going to write a response, but then saw the thread had 9 pages! When I cam to this page, you were at the top with this response, which I completely agree with. Too many throws across his body on the run, absolutely no patience in the pocket for routes to develop--quite honestly he looks scared to take a hit. As soon as the pocket starts collapsing, his eyes leave downfield and he looks for a running lane. CJ Beathard. He WILL be the quarterback that we (and 31 other teams) forever rue the day we passed on him. Poise in the pocket, strong delivery, can take a hit, gets better as the game goes on. We would have had our franchise guy, but sadly, we let it slip by.
  8. Who did he butt heads with in Buffalo? The media? They suck, and we complain about them endlessly. The players that are lazy? They suck, and we complain about guys like Dareus endlessly. Management? They suck, and were all just fired. Meanwhile, Marrone landed another gig, and I'll be rooting for him. Still the best coach we've had since Wade, going purely by results. One final thing: to everyone that is giving Schwartz credit for that season--that was the staff that Marrone hired. If you're going to say he was a terrible coach because of Hackett, then you have to say he was a great coach because of Schwartz, no? Isn't that how it works? Or do we have to cast logic into the bushes to make ourselves feel better because he essentially called out the Bills for being a third rate organization and opted for a career DOWNGRADE instead of job security? nvm, don't respond, I already know the answer.
  9. I am proud to be a Doug Marrone supporter. What did he do that was so wrong? That hasn't been completely vindicated? Doug: Said he would turn the Bills around. Result: Immediate turn around, winning record, best season during the drought, and drop off when he left. Doug: Hated EJ, wanted a real QB, and said management wouldn't get him one/support him with one. Result: Used a post-training camp QB acquisition to post a winning record. Doug: Argued with Whaley, couldn't get along with the entire organizational structure of the Bills, thought the organization was dysfunctional. Result: Whaley's been canned, the scouting department's been canned, and everyone here wants the holdovers (Brandon, Overdorf) gone as well. Doug: Thought the players lacked discipline, and wanted to run a tight ship/accountable team. Result: I'm still reading articles on the front page of this very site about how that fat piece of sh*t Dareus is going to get his act together this year because he's mature. Our team is full of idiots that are constantly coddled. Sammy's best season was with Saint Doug. Doug: Hated the Buffalo media. Result: Everyone on this board passionately hates the Buffalo media. Doug: Wanted to leave because he was unsure if there would be a massive house cleaning because of new ownership. Result: Massive housecleaning 2 years later, because of new ownership. The only difference between you and Doug is that he got paid a few million bucks to bag on this sorry organization for the same faults that you idiots come on here and write about in your spare time. He's literally a multi-millionaire message board poster that has insight into the inner workings of why this organization has failed for a decade and a half, but because he walked away from it, bet on himself, got a new job, and now runs a team that will probably make the playoffs before the Bills (lol) he's the bad guy. Go Doug!
  10. Rumor was Percy Harvin f*cked Russ's old lady and that's why he got shipped.
  11. I'd give up the next 5 firsts for CJ Beathard. Whoever gets him is set.
  12. I used to get so excited for this. I would check the internet every day for leaks and what not. Now I have a kid, and a stressful job, and I might forget that it releases on Thursday, and then Friday night as I'm enjoying a drink or 2 before bed, it'll hit me that, "oh yeah! The schedule came out yesterday". I kinda like it better this way, tbh.
  13. I've felt this way for so long, but have started to change my way of thinking. I can't believe what I'm about to say, but... sigh.... I almost respect them for the cheating. I heard that Greg Williams speech--it really is a war out there. These guys are going up against roided up monsters trying to knock them senseless. It's war, in some sense of the word--as gladitorial as it may seem. Although a hidden camera might be "unethical", what are ethics when your opponent is literally trying to inflict a sufficient amount of damage to your brain to render you incapable of continuing play? That's life or death, in some sense of the word. The Patriots developed "a system", in so far as from top to bottom, they've optimized their workflow. They are the corporate consultant's dream--not a wasted dollar, minute or idea at 1 Patriots Drive. Our team, the Buffalo Bills, are wasting resources transitioning to a new head coach--the 4th time they've had to do this in 5 years, and countless numbers of coordinators. We have no excess resources to waste on things like corporate espionage--we can't even get our middle management right, lol. The Patriots are a machine, man. The fact that they turned a 6th round frat boy into James Bond's offspring who can throw a spiral with his right hand and father illegitimate children with Hollywood actresses while dating Brazilian supermodels with his left hand (all while wearing uggs and drinking seaweed) detracts from neither of them and only compliments the greatness at the whole due to the utilization of the parts. They are absolutely incredible and watching Chris Hogan become the best receiver in the NFL for 4 million dollars when Buffalo didn't want to give him a raise from 3 million dollars should tell you all you need to know about the differences in the BUSINESSES being run in Orchard Park and Foxborough Massachusetts.
