  1. The first time I looked at your screen name, thought it said BigBLuff which would have been fitting as I think that is all this is on Washington's part, a big bluff hoping to get some team to buy this rumor and offer them a high pick. But doubt any GM's are dumb enough to fall for it and it really complicates things too much for Washington and too much risk.
  2. Really doubt it when you consider the short life HC often have. You want to make sure you have the best staff around you as if you don't and things regress, you'll be out of work just like this guy was. Does that mean that their paths hadn't crossed prior and as a result had developed a friendship, quite likely they did, but the hire is because he thinks he'll help the staff, not just because he's a friend. Unless of course it's Rex hiring Rob, but even there, I'm sure Rex thought Rob would be a big help.
  3. Seems to often be the problem. If you're smart enough to play QB in the NFL, often you then don't have the physical skills, in his case arm strength. Flutie was a height problem.
  4. I'd consider trading one of the 1sts to move down all the way to a #1 for next years draft, plus maybe pick up a 2nd and maybe 4th this year, and have two #1's next year.
  5. Yeah Oceanic, you're paying for the view. If you go before 4:00 it's the lunchtime menu, then it's a decent price for decent food. But they don't take the view away!
  6. I'm usually heading the other way when passing through heading up to Midland and Concord, but do drive by that corner. Next time by I'll look for a Bills flag or something.
  7. I'm just south in Monkey Junction. Well when you say 10,000 homes it has to be either Brunswick Forest or Compass Point. I've been down here about 10 years now, quite a few Bill's fans around actually, part of it due to many people from WNY who transferred down here with Corning. Even in my little development, there's at least 3 Bills fans that I know of and none of them work for Corning either. Tough to get any kind of decent wings down here though, but there is a good place for Beef on Weck. Wow I've driven right by that intersection many a time from 74 up to 601 . 218 kind of sucks actually to drive.
  8. Thing I noticed down here, up in WNY in the winter time your windows will get all fogged up on the inside. Depending on how good your windows are, the temps may need to get down close to zero before fogging up with good windows. Here the windows fog up on the outside in the early morning hours in July. Second thing, I've noticed when I get to work and step out of the car, my glasses often will fog up, again something that never happened up north. Humidity is bad down here, but comfortable on the beach.
  9. I'm in Carolina, but in Wilmington on the coast. Huge difference, would not want t olive down here inland!! Almost every day by around 3:00 the sea breeze kicks up and even on 100 degree days, can go walk on the beach in comfort in the evening with the breeze blowing. It's also a much shorter period of brutal heat compared to Florida, most years up until Memorial Day , not bad to be outside and again after Labor Day not too bad either. My house is about 3 miles from the ocean, and while the sea breeze is great on the beach, still too hot to walk around the neighborhood, but beach is great. Sea breeze also keeps things a little warmer in the winter than inland. I also was at the Bills game in Charlotte and agree it was hot on the sun side of the stadium and temp were a bit below normal too, but again that's inland.
  10. Wheres the Flightstats guy??
  11. As was pointed out, lets see how he does over a couple of seasons and maybe without a great defense around him. You could make the same argument for Fitz. (and others) He looked good for awhile too until teams figured him out.
  12. Just accept the fact that you got about a 50/50 shot at whomever you choose actually working out and becoming that elite guy. Moving up to to #3 likely means of the 3 guys you list we're getting Mayfield who of all of them is probably the most risky pick too. The only thing going for him is the NFL doesn't hand out suspensions for drinking too much, but that does often lead to things that do.
  13. Are you suggesting a lobotomy?? That may work! Though as has been mentioned many times, football players aren't generally too smart to start with.
  14. so there was 6 penalties against 1, that's not sure a huge difference. Take out the one PI and the yardage isn't so orders of magnitude different either. Someone commented, "Why would anyone want to watch this SB when it is so clearly rigged." I'm sure there are many as this thread shows who feel that way. So as was also mentioned, why would the NFL then rig it for the Pats to win when so many people feel this way and won't now watch. Yes there are many Pat's fans out there, (love to compare the number today to 20 years ago when they would lose every year) but there are still many many more non Pats' fans out there.
  15. Yes is kind of ironic that rarely ever happens, but yet happened twice in Buffalo
  16. Everyone ripped the Bills for the $4 million opt out clause. But really can't blame anyone IMO. The clause only came into effect if and when RW died and the team is sold. Can see if I'm ready to sign a contract to coach the Bills and there's a good chance my contract will out last RW, I'd want something in there that gives me an out if the team is sold and maybe moved someplace I have no desire to move to. Or maybe the team is bought by someone I really hate (Trump) or is taken over by someone who doesn't want to spend any money. So he have an out. And really can't blame the Bills for agreeing to it as what coach has ever walked away from an NFL head coaching position. There was a good chance RB and Mary Wilson knew long before RW died who was buying the team and where they'd be located. So figured the team isn't going anywhere, coaches don't walk away from current jobs, so was a very safe totally free insurance policy to add the opt out. And I'm sure if Marrone wasn't so sure he was getting the Jets HC job he never would have left either. Not sure what exactly happened there, possibly the Jet's soured on him purely because he walked away. So left him out in the cold, but $4 mil buys plenty of winter coats.
  17. I thought the moral would be: Less people talking about the Music City Miracle as this now kind of tops that play!
  18. Yes and maybe last spring all these other teams could have also been jerks (as you seem to favor) and prevented the Bills from speaking to their people too.
  19. The first year Flutie was here he was great. By the 2nd year defenses had figured him out. We won alot of games lost the playoff to Tenn, but I thought that entire year we won in spite of Flutie not because of him where as the year prior, he delivered the wins. And Yes I was fine with benching Flutie for Johnson as I didn't think Flutie was going to win us any playoff games
  20. Is this the same Jerry Sullivan we all know and love?? Guess he gets around! https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/lebron-james-roasts-reporter-after-being-asked-about-cavs’-poor-defense/ar-AAuCaOP?li=BBnba9I
  21. So what actually went wrong with Rico?? Did he say all the right things on the interview last year, but then reverted to something else?? There's a pretty long list of coordinators from both sides who end up one and done. How do you prevent that from happening again??
  22. That is really the best question. Who do I want. Whoever the Bills feel is the best choice if it's Dennison or someone else. The one thing I do know is that what goes on at practice, locker room, classroom, etc.;the people seeing that know 1000 times more than any body on this board thinks they know. Just as everyone here, said how bad they'd do, lucky to win 4 games and they go 9-7 and make the playoffs is more evidence of how little we know.
  23. That could be the problem, too much imbalance and weight on one leg cacused the foot issue!
  24. I agree with the OP in that that it's much harder to find a franchise QB than it is to fail. I always laugh whenever I see these posts, Beane needs to get a franchise QB and if he can't find one, he should be fired. If it were that easy every team in the league would have one. In reality there are a half dozen or so true franchise guys and another 10 to 15 guys that are paid like top franchise guys, but struggle as they are making so much money , not enough cap space to pay enough other great players to keep on the team and the team is middle of the road. I do think TT needs to be replaced as there's just been too many terrible games and doubt he'll ever learn. I started out the season in the camp of keeping him and using all the picks to surround him with great talent, but have seen enough of his play to realize he's just terrible. So full am in favor of moving on, but do realize it's much riskier than many here seem to think and be prepared for potentially going backwards. I also feel the team has enough holes all around that wouldn't want to give up all the picks needed to move up to the top two picks. Unfortunately the team was a little too good this year that they are drafting too low to move up that far without giving away the farm to do so. Both Philly and LA seemed to have had move overall talent than the Bills did before getting their QB. So here too wouldn't mind seeing them fill other holes first. Something that I haven't seen mentioned at all would be the idea of taking one of the 1st round picks we have and trading to a team for next years (2019) 1st round pick and maybe pick up a another 2nd and/or 3rd for this year. That would allow more spots to be filled this year pick up a middle of the road vet for this year and potentially put off the high draft pick QB for another year. You could argue we'll likely again be middle of the road and would again take too much draft capital to move up, but if you picked up another 2nd and 3rd this year in a trade, plus our own 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, I wouldn't feel you'd need as many picks next year. The other argument against this I'm sure is this years group of QB's is much better. But even this year, in September this years class was talked about like it was the greatest ever. Now everyone of them has some question mark about them so likely the same will happen next season too.
  25. At the beginning of the season the O-line struggled alot. By year end, they were playing much better, so not certain the issue there was just that it took some time for the players to catch on.
