I'd imagine the odds are much lower, less than 1%. 2 of the games, Jax and Fish in Miami, the Bills will be underdog. so lets just say it's 1.25:1 against. So multiply that, now add i na factor for every other game you mention and that number drops real fast. Actually just saw on one site not certain am interpreting correctly but lists them at .1% chance. Another site give the m1/250 to win division which is even less.

What I don't understand is why two teams that both have byes can't play the following Thursday night. I see next week the Jet's are playing NE. Why not play on Thursday? It's doesn't seem that hard to figure out how to make the schedule work. Granted byes only happen from around week #4 thru #12, but could reduce the number of teams playing on Sunday then again Thursday.

Happy 50th Heidi Game

I also lived in NYC, but took my father and I a little time to figure out what was going on and turn on the radio and listen to the end of the Jet's broadcast. -

Off-Season WR trade market

I've thought about this possibly happening too. Atlanta has two other good receivers so could let him got to use $$ elsewhere. -
I Wonder What it is Like to be Released in the NFL
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before I was "Formally from Rochester" I worked there at Kodak, they were laying off so many they let you stick around for a month after being told you were laid off with full access to everything some were in areas where they actually were expected to work, others could spend all the time looking for a new job.. Initially they were walking people out, but found 99% of the people did nothing bad so let them stay. Yes you're correct, I was just thinking more in terms of not a traditional paper playbook anymore. I don't even know if they bother to get the Surfaces back as much as just immediately terminate the account. That would be an interesting job to have. Being told the person is being cut, terminate the account before the player even knows. -

Wasn't everyone raving about Dallas O-line 3 years ago. Did I read that there are only 2 or 3 of the five still there? -
Three Holding Penalties on One Play?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it would need to be in the same spot to top 3 holding penalties! But as noted above that could be called for "piling on"! PS We can now say this place is going to the dogs! -
Wild eyed optimist moment
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to RochesterRob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is true, maybe not as bad but think there's still enough holes to fill and even with a lower pick no guarantees that one will hit either. Plus with higher pick could trade down for more picks. -

Assume you're right and they somehow get to 8-8 or 9-7. Is that really want you want? Highly unlikely they will get anywhere close to #1 overall, but would be happy with a top 10 pick which typically translates to 5 maybe 6 wins. I'd be happier with that. -

I'd agree with this, one high tier FA, and maybe a 2nd who's not quite as high paid, then draft a RT or guard in 2nd round. Don't completely rule our Ike B and Conor M for next season either. At a minimum they could be your 6th and 7th guys, first off off the bench.

[Name Only Title] Wyatt Teller?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Dave Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd think they'll do more than one O-lineman. I can see them signing a high level FA, maybe even two for the line, plus draft another, maybe 2nd rounder for guard or RT. Possibly either Ike B or McD from the practice squad can also develop into at least a legit depth player for the line. -
The only thing that keeps Lewis employed is he works for the cheapest owner in the league who doesn't want to have to pay off contracts, both for Lewis and assistants. IMO Lewis has a bad year or two, ready to get fired but Brown wants to give him one more year so he'll have less years left to pay off. But then Lewis has a good season so Brown re-signs him again (and for less $$ than most coaches would want) and we repeat the cycle.

The coach is never tanking, he's always trying to win with whatever he has. The GM, he can easily be looking down the road and as you said shed contracts, etc.. Does that mean McD hasn't been consulted on every roster move, certainly was on board. But when Sunday rolls around McD and even Beane to a lesser degree are trying their hardest and doing everything they can to win.
