What's Up With the Buffalo Blitz Paywall?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Keukasmallies's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm a bit confused on their website, when I clicked on an article link it took me to the adblocker notice page. That page listed the price as $6.00 per month, I've been paying $2.99 per month, is the price going up or is that for full BN access. Will it still be $2.99 for BNBlitz only? -
Think you're giving him way too much credit there!

I think it may simply be due to Pegula realizing he made mistakes early on in not listening enough to his technical experts in the filed. i.e. his football folks. Before Pegula was here, may have been that Brandon had a bigger say in hiring Marrone than Whaley did and seemed like it was repeated again with Rex as was rumored neither time was Whaley's top choice. May have been partly Whaleys own un-doing by not standing up and saying strongly No I don't want this guy, but maybe he's of the mind set, well I'll figure out how to work with him. But anyway think TP finally figured out to let his football people figure out things that are needed for the football business and he (and Kim) stays out of it. I also think TP wants continuity so will give these guys time. People are already saying if Allan is a bust, he'll be fired, if thta is the case, then there's no hope for TP as the success rate for QB's is 50% if you're lucky. I think as long as overall the team improves, he'd get at least a 2nd shot at getting another QB.

Did Beane know Chargers wanted Edmunds at 17?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Makes you wonder how much overall is known as to who likely will be picked by another team. Maybe not always correct, but do teams know say 75% of the time who another team is likely going to select?? -
Turning Point for the Pegulas

I could listen to Kim talk all day and night too! (even if she talks in her sleep) Seriously, Do we have the hottest looking owner in the league? -
Did the Bills REALLY get their guy?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes but first of fa gym teacher teaches gym all the time, likely goes to cynics, training, etc. so again they know more about teaching gym than a fan would. And if a fan knew so much they'd be doing it professionally, or at a minimum working for ESPN or some other media outlet where again they'd have access to many resources the average fan doesn't get to experience. Even Mel Kyper, love him or hate him has way more access to things that are really going on than 99% of the posters here do. The 1% are the people that write columns who do post here, but they rarely state things as facts when all it really is an opinion. It's fine to say hey I don't like the pick or I think they panicked, but when presented as facts when nothing is really known shows ignorance. Whatever the occupation may be, when people who don't do that task full time think they know more than people who do this for a living it just again shows their ignorance. -
Huh?? I could understand if you were complaining that they gave up to much in the Allan trade, but for the Edmunds trade according to the chart, they gave up 1045 point to gain 1030 points. So 15 points is too much for you?? LOL And yet people were screaming the Bills should have traded up to #2. One things I'm pretty certain of that would have taken even more picks.

The other important factor is you have to have what I call a landing spot for a player you're going to pick, in other words don't draft someone for a position where it's unlikely to have a roster spot for him to fill, else it becomes a wasted pick. When I look at the Bills O-line last year, I saw 3 well above average players in Woods, Richie, and Glenn when he was healthy, all three now gone, replaced with journeymen type players. While these guys may be fine this year as a unit, not sure they are strong enough to support a mid round rookie playing next to them. Like Last year, the unit could hold up with Dawkins out there making mistakes early on and let him grow. They now do have one rookie, but rather see them sign another June 1st vet for depth, next year, assuming Dawkins continues to improve, they'd have the money to sign one or even two star O-line players, then can afford to also sign and play a rookie next to them, and they can sign 1st or 2nd round lineman too. Carp, sure that's fine, but to hear these people go one stating how the FO are idiots and don't know anything and what a terrible pick it was is pretty funny. I feel I know as much about these players the Bills drafted as about 99% of the people here on this site and that is absolutely nothing and neither does anyone else when compared to the amount of knowledge people actually working in the business know.

RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't work because the Bills didn't think he was the better player. Unfortunately for you, the Bills didn't think your opinion counts very much. Pretty simple actually sorry you couldn't figure that out. -
Irresponsible to trade away so many picks?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well they certainly aren't as smart as you are! -

Did Terry P push for Allen?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
wow six games, I'm certain that's much more tape than all the NFL scouts watched together. You are the expert! -
No matter which QB they selected, you could have just as many negative comments posted this morning about, just all for different reasons. As Sean Peyton said a couple weeks back, there are no Andrew Lucks or Carson Wentz in this draft. They were all flawed, so the Bills went with certain flaws over other ones. Are there risks sure, but he also may have the most upside of all of them. I just listened to Sal Pal strongly question if Sam Darnold will work out, he has his doubts. Meanwhile Mel Kiper had Allen rated as best QB, but CBS sports ranked him #56 overall. so no one knows including all the people here who think they know so much more than people who do this for a living.

Why all the picks for a project QB?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As has been stated likely the Bills were competing against the Cardinals and maybe Miami too. So they had to give up more to get the deal done. Did Tampa play them a bit maybe, would a #2 and the 65th also got the deal, maybe, but not a huge difference anyway between 56 and 65. Once the Bills made the trade, Arizona likely didn't have any competition in the trade they made so they were able to give up less, plus was a lower pick to start off with. Oakland also may have been more eager to trade down so took less to do it. When you consider a couple of the trades Beane has made, TT, Glenn I'd tend to give him the benefit of the doubt too. One thing I know for certain is that I know as much as anyone on this board knows about who will be good and who won't and that is that I have no idea, and neither does anyone else. -
Bills just traded up again to 16

2018 Draft: 1st round discussion

Now the time for things to get interesting, trade now won't need to pay too large a price and still get a top pick. -
GMFB talk Bills draft (how to get QB)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsFan8083's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL, you'll need to give up a lot more than that to get to #2 And likely you'll have given up more than just 12 and 22 t o get to 6, probably throw in a second round pick. Then throw in our other 2nd and maybe both 3rds to get to #2. The Giants are rumored to have already said NO to three first rounders, why would they consider this? -
Or the Bills who actually have multiple people studying this full time don't feel any of the QB's are worth giving up that much to move up. As believe it was Sean Peyton stated a week or two back, there are no Andre Lucks, or Carson Wentz in the draft. So if that's the case, why give away the farm for the next say Andy Daulton? Think it will take alot more than you're suggesting to get to #1 The Jet's over paid the equivalent of around 300 draft points to move up 3 spots. The Giants are rumored to have turned down 3 #1 picks for the #2 overall, so why would the Browns take so little to give up #1 overall. I've read i t he past too when calculating the value of draft picks one year out, you downgrade by one round So lets say you assume the Bills would have the #10 overall pick in 2019 draft. Well that's the value of the #42 overall pick or around 500 points. Certainly is downgraded to some level as a team taking it has no idea what the value of it will actually be. Teams typically over pay to get that high, likely means you'd need to give Cleveland a minimum of 3500 draft points to get that high.

Draft Day Dark Horse Prediction!!!!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Broncos trade with another team, it's because the Bills told them "No Thanks!" Any GM in the league who's considering a trade down proposal from another team would very likely call Buffalo first before agreeing to any deal as they know Buffalo COULD offer the most IF they want to. -
Obviously you care or you wouldn't be posting as is everyone who's responded in this thread and the 1000's who likely read the article. It's an article which he's paid to write in the hopes that people read and talk about which is what is happening here. There are only 256 wins in an NFL season (unless you're ESPN) so looking at it objectively that's what he thinks they will add up to. It has nothing to do with EGO, he's just doing his job, but god help anyone who says anything in the slightest negative about the Bills. Then he becomes this terrible person. Will he be right, who knows, probably some teams records will be close to his predictions, but some will be way off either better or worse. I'm sure if he had predicted an 11-5 record he'd be praised around here. Jay S predicted 6-10, so is he on an ego trip also??

PAuline: agreement in principle with giants
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
correct except one of those hotties is bi-polar, another just got out of prison, and the 3rd has VD, but you don't know any of this, so maybe the beast isn't so bad, except she also could have any of these things too. so why pay for all the extra drinks for the hottie when all of them may be about the same. Save your money!
