New England has FIRED Jerod Mayo
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or he was told before the game he was being let go, so tried like hell to win. Sometimes coaches are told prior?? You'd think in this situation WRT the #1 pick they wouldn't do that, but never know. The fact that he was fired 90 minutes after the game seems Kraft had decided prior to the game. -
So why not instead go after Trey Hendrickson who Bengals are rumors to cut? He's one year older, but likely free for the picking. Yeah but didn't have free agency or a cap back then so was much easier to hold a team together. Also more rounds to the draft. Wouldn't give up 2 firsts for him, but while that may be what Browns want, not so sure they'll get that either.

Agree as Monday will likely be the 4-5 NFC game to give whoever loses Sunday night more time since they are playing the late game.

Predict the elevations and inactives tomorrow
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read this article yesterday too and was also going to quote this. He makes sound arguments for and against everyone so do tend to agree with his choices, Gouraige and Cine. I think a good reason White was elevated to the 53 was to make him active on Sunday so Mitch doesn't play that much, maybe 1st half, to prevent injury there to him and if by some chance he did get hurt, can then bring White in rather than Allen -
If you go just off stats, Jackson should be the winner, but like last year when Jackson won it, he didn't have the best stats, but still won. Allen has more huge splash plays and off the chart games, plus won more games. Jackson also lost to Cleveland and Raiders, but soundly beat Allen. But even there, could argue was more Henry beat the Bills. There's also the argument to be made that Jackson won 3 including last year, so some votors will go with Allen for that very reason. Overall think Allen will win it give him around a 70% chance to win it.

Von Miller needs 1 sack for $1.5 million
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even if Miller did play, likely Groot, Oliver and maybe AJ will sit, so Miller would probably be facing double teams all day. -
So there are 5 RT in the AFC better than Brown, but yet only 3 safety's better than Hamlin??

Is Doyle still actually on the team?? LOL Thought he was let go with an injury settlement or something?? I noticed it on Allens X-Mas gift, first time I'd seen his name mentioned in months. I do think Van Pran Granger , Gouraige (sp?), VanDemark, and Anderson are all very good backups too. That was one of the big concerns if any of the starters got hurt, our backups basically were all inexperienced. At this point all have a year under their belt and cheap contracts. Beane could consider trading one of them as barring injury can't see any of them getting on the field over the life of their rookie contract.

Just read this weeks NFL ranking in the Athletic and they have the Bills first with Vikes @2, KC-3 and Lions 4. All 3 teams behind Bills have better records!! Deserved or not, don't see that very often. That has got to annoy some fan bases. If it was the opposite way with Bills, people here would be going nuts!

Yes but too expensive to get rid of for 2025.
-
The rebuttal to that is 11-5 and took until week 17 to move into first place and mainly due to a late season collapse by Steelers. Until around 3 weeks ago, the Steelers were in a pretty good position to get the 2 seed over Buffalo. Could give them a good shot and say, "yeah but it's rare that a running back wins the MVP!"
-
You left out one other thing up for grabs. If Pitt loses and Changers win, Chargers move up to 5 seed and go to Houston and Pitt drops to 6th and plays Ravens, so I'd imagine Steelers are motivated to win Saturday too Denver also could be tied with Steelers, not sure who wins tiebreaker there or could Steelers drop to 7th? Don't think so, think the lowest Steelers can go is 6th??

Now that the 53 is set, predict the Bills win total
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes the offense has been good, but not the defense and that was biggest reason many didn't think the team would do that well this year with all the changes in personal mainly on the defensive side. Fire McD and highly likely the team will be worse off -
Reading the column about Shavers TD and 13 players scored TD's and comment from Allen "We’ve got another week to try to get one more" makes me think they will try and get someone else. But who is left other than a lineman?? So could see if they get close to goal line, trying some pass to lineman?? The only other guys left is Reggie Gilliam and Davidson, but believe he's used up his 3 callups? I suppose there's always Trubisky

Now that the 53 is set, predict the Bills win total

It would be interesting to check how many of these posts only predicted 7 to 9 wins, but now saying if Bills don't win SB, they should fire McD. -

You could be pretty darn close -
Mack Hollins is a National Treasure!!

Likely has some internal meaning to them. At least I hope it does. -
Chuck Smith, DL Coach of the Ravens
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Snappysnackcakes's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills have had believe the 2nd best record in the league the past 5 years, 4 years in a row the #2 seed. Looking at it statistically the odds of them replacing McD and even being close to as good is very low as just little room to improve but a lot of room to get worse. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree, It would be interesting to go back and see, did Cowherd even predict the Bills to make the playoffs, believe he did? I do recall many in the media did not have them making it. This year the only problem McD has is the team has over achieved. This was a retool year. They were a bit lucky in that 3 teams they played this year who were supposed to be good were terrible, Jets, Dolphins, and 49r's so that gave them 5 pretty easy wins which helped. But they really weren't expected to be this good so really doubtful he is even close to getting fired. I do think the defense will get a pretty substantial makeover particularly on the line. Groot will be back along with Oliver and probably AJ along with carter and Soliman. But see them bringing in the best edge rusher available and maybe also a true 1 nose DT -
No it is Eagles at Buffalo is set. It will always be against the team in the same position in the standing and the division chosen isa the one that you played against 2 seasons prior so for 2025 would be the 2023 NFC division which was the east. This year we played Detroit on the road so mean we get the 9th home game for 2025. But is possible it's an international game, can't rule that out totally. Though maybe playing one in 2023 rules us out?? Think you're looking at 2026?? For some reason 2025 was skipped. We played the "odd" one off NFC game this year at Detroit on the road, so next year Bills get the 9th home game so game would be in buffalo. Looking at that think they are all off by one row?? What that should have stated was 2025 host East, 2026 at west, 2027 host south, 2028 at north. But that doesn't make sense either as then a repeat every 4 years. in 2021 we hosted NFC west Dallas and in 2022 we went to NFC west Rams. Could 2025 be some one off thing, or after 4 years they flip so for 2025 Bills will have two years in a row with 9 away games?? But in 2028 and 2029 will have 9 home games two years in a row. Well am certain playing Eagles, where??
