Can the NFL move the game forward an hour?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Commish's topic in The Stadium Wall
The other issue is whichever network has the 4:25 game this week it's Fox would have a cow as wouldn't want Sunday Night Football going up against their game and also Fox wouldn't want to lose viewers for the beginning of their game as still watching the end of game on Fox, even if it is Giants V Dallas -
They're 6th as a team, that's pretty good. With all the depth they have, players are rotating in and out so much, likely makes it hard for players to get enough snaps to be high on the list. So overall not concerned that only one Bill on list. On another note see Franlklin-Myers is #10 on the list. After reading another thread many here ripping the Jets for giving him a big contract.

Bills Biggest recent Road Win ?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
IMO the win at Pitt was just as big a win as this one could be as was the Thanksgiving Dallas game. They were later in the season too when you kind of more needed the win. -
All based on what you see around you only with people who have no other options but to tailgate outside. So they are crowded restaurants, hmmm..... must mean people are interested in going there! I assume you never go out to eat as you don't know what's on the menu. As far as people not there 4 to 5 hours prior to a Sabres game, do you go door to door in every restaurant and check to see if empty? Are they going to go 4 to 5 hours early to restaurant, not likely, but nothing wrong with that either. But they may be there one to two hours early eating someplace. Sure people like to tailgate and many probably more than half would continue, but maybe not for every game and some may like the options and some may prefer it too. For someone going to game maybe just with one other person, they may prefer the restaurant options. But you're just dismissing it based on nothing to compare against. I'm sure there are some other cities with bars and restaurants within walking distance of stadiums that do very well but also tailgating nearby too. Your logic here is as sound as flipping a one sided coin and every time it comes up heads and then making the statement: "See heads always wins!: You're comparing against nothing.

Pretty big statement top make with no data to back it up! Sure not everyone wants to go to a restaurant, but a good number may if they had the choice especially in December when snowing or raining real hard. Today they don't have the option so no way of knowing. Actually one could argue, do people tailgate at Sabres games? Or do they go to restaurants? If so that proves that's what people really want. Does this really prove anything, no! But is a nice way to use some data to back a preconceived conclusion.

Agree! I read the article in the BN and all I got out of it was yes they looked at three sites in the city. It would look rather poor if all you have is the Bills stating they want to build a stadium next to Highmark and the state comes out and says "OK sure!" So they are looking at alternative sites, nothing in the article talked about costs or conclusions. So then when the state decides to build a stadium next to Highmark because it makes the most sense economically, they can say they looked at many alternatives too. And the firm doing the study gets $150k for coming to same conclusion as the Bills already did.

So what's the offensive game plan?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
For the record I didn't start either one! -

No the other thread for the defensive game plan. We need two separate ones!! -

Yeah recall it was usually always the same person who posted it, didn't remember the name and couldn't find last weeks. So decided to post it myself and added a couple comments to keep him on his toes. -
The 506 Maps
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, but Dallas and NY have much larger numbers so will out draw the average fan in the end. Plus the late games go through dinner time on east coast. If the game doesn't involve the Bills I'll likely miss an hour of it anyway. So if you go with teams with biggest fan base, they won't turn it off as they're devoted. Even the "good game" can turn into a blow out which the average fan then may turn off. -
Someone must be asleep at the switch this week, not yet posted!! Tough to get good help these days! https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2021&wk=5 Not as big a deal since Bills playing Sunday night, but still like to know what games I will see. I may have to move to San Fran late Sunday afternoon!

Shady showing that Buffalove
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No actually he's a real smart guy who is talking to Bills fans of all ages with the brain of the 15 YO you're describing. The more he talks 15 YO's react and post and click and at the end of the season, maybe he'll thank Bills fans for helping his ratings go up. -
Good write up! WRT 1 I wonder if Edmunds is just going to be one of these guys where if he has an open lane, he can wreck havoc, but not very good in "hand to hand combat" May be due to him being so big and long, he loses balance and leverage?? 5 Thought Star was credited with a sack last week? 6 Been saying all along Knox has to many assets that can't be taught, speed, size, athleticism that you don't want to give up on him too soon. It may be paying off this year, at least so far. Some additional comments by me Allen needs to stop the hard count. It's gotten old and not fooling the other team anymore, (only Beasley) Save it for when really needed in crucial situation. On the incomplete to Moss at goal line. Barber commented that had Allen waited a split second longer for Moss to turn, he'd have caught it. From my view I felt if Allen did wait the defender was cutting down the angle and might have broke up the pass of it completed Moss would have run out of room to turn it up field. My take was Allen threw it at the correct time, Moss needs to learn to turn earlier on them. On potential Allen TD run that McD challenged, those type of spot calls rarely are ever overturned so the odds of McD winning challenge were very low. However Allen and rest of offense wasted so much time throwing their arm up wanting McD to challenge, there was no time left to run next play so only choice was TO or challenge which effectively gives you a TO. The only downside is you only have one challenge left, but that late in game and with score as it was, wasn't likely to matter! Onto to KC!!

The Bills are 3 - 0 with Star plaiyng any thoughts
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Jim Steele's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most people, myself included have assumed due to his contract, Star would be back this season, but in the next off season can dump him as cap hit is not too bad. But after seeing the difference this year in the line play and no apparent replacement on the roster, I wonder if they will keep him another season and maybe then draft a true replacement for him. They could sign a top FA replacement, but then you'd be paying the FA plus the cap hit for Star so keeping him one more season might be better. The only exception could be if Harry really stepped up and shows he can replace him with little loss. But if not may be best to keep him around and draft a replacement in 2nd or 3rd round and have him then take over in 2023. -
He also has more experienced players surrounding him than he did two seasons ago. Even though many here also claim they all suck too! LOL

Our long Cody Ford National Nightmare is over.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would the team be better? If DK was drafted, there would be no trade for Diggs. Yes we'd have had another 1st rounder, who knows who we had picked, just as even if didn't pick Ford, who knows who we had picked instead. -

Wow what a shock. Yes coaches always come out after games and rip their players. He was asked a question specificity about the benching so what else would anyone with a brain expect him to say. -
What's up with Rousseau?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Likely teams are getting enough film on him to know how to defend better. Now it's back on him to figure out what he needs to change up, or Bruce helping him with some suggestions. Could be the same with AJ too. -
Zero's Chiefs VS Bills breakdown
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall
What worries me the most is Allen coming out all hyped up as he sometimes does and missing on a bunch of passes, kind of like the Pitt game. Hopefully someone will steady him. -
Was watching the Pitt Green Bay game, with just over 2:00 to go was 3rd and around 5 for Green Bay, a 1st down for Green Bay would basically end any remote chance for Pitt. Rodgers scrambles around and slides feet first, giving himself up for about a 2 yard loss now making it 4th and 7 and forcing them to punt. Watching it, he likely could have gained a few more yards, who knows maybe even break a tackle for a 1st down, but instead he went down, didn't want to take any chances with getting hit. If that were Allen, no way that happens. Granted there are risks in what Allen does, but that would be the time to press things as a 1st down ends the game. Admittedly was still a low chance for Pitt to comeback, but still Rodgers took the soft way out on the play. Guess he didn't want to take any chances on missing a State Farm commercial.
