  1. Agree, no huge TE receiving threat this week and Klein is good against run. Gives an extra week rest with the bye.
  2. My main point was just to state, no way to predict where Rousseau would have gone if he hadn't opted out. Every year plays jump up in the draft and other drop.
  3. What amazes me the most is the emails were over a 7 year period, and nothing ever came out about this till now!
  4. Likely Singletary will stick around till his contract is up, then draft his replacement, a year later same thing could happen with Moss. Think Davis is better than a #3 or 4, Not a slot guy, but could be a good #2. Not so sure Beasley will be back next year. This year between the compressed salary cap and not enough time between when people could get vaxxed and start of camp not enough time to make alternative plans. But by next year with more money and time, think the 8% of un-vaxxed players still in the league will be very small, only a true superstar may still have a job. Could resign Sander and move him to slot. Recall reading a couple months back that Sanders best position actually is slot. Think interior line will be more than just signing for depth. Could see them draft a center or guard fairly high to maybe start in Morse's place. If Star keeps playing at the level he currently is, likely will bring him back next year, but could see them using a 2nd or 3rd on his replacement, and let him sit next next season. Do a similar thing at safety and use mid round pick to become eventual starter, though do have Hamlin and Johnson. Could see a high maybe 1st round used at CB to replace Wallace as just can't se them re-signing him. Need cheap replacements someplace and can afford one rookie there. Also think CB and RB are two easiest positions for rookies to come in and play right away. Could see a 5th or 6th rounder used on a top punter, same way the brought Bass in. Not to make light of it, but honestly think punter may be the weakest starting position on the team.
  5. I recall about 25 years ago, on a Saturday afternoon in October watched an SU Florida St game, heard the chant, Saturday and Sunday night baseball playoff game in Atlanta, same chant, Monday the Bills played the Chiefs in KC chant again. My wife finally says to me, "Does every team do this?"
  6. Who know,s he could have had a bad year and dropped. Wasn't Allen more highly thought of after his 1st year at Wyoming than after his 2nd. Every year you hear about guys who dropped.
  7. Last year Beasley was competing for catches with Diggs and a rookie WR, a rookie RB, and a TE that dropped one for every two he caught. This year he's up against a legit #2 WR who's functioned at a very high level, plus a RB who now has much more experience, plus a TE that seems to have figured things out. So less balls for Beasley. Is he really sulking, who knows?? I will admit late in the game about two plays prior to his one catch, I did comment to someone, is Beasley hurt or something?
  8. Thought I heard Ford brought the orange slices and they were FIRE! Maybe if someone got injured. IMO lineman take some time to jell together, so not sure worth it and Wallace is looking pretty good. Do think Ford and/or Phillips could get traded prior to deadline, but more likely for draft picks, maybe a 6th or so.
  9. A friend of mine is a big Dolphins fan and every time they play the Bills all I hear the next day is how all the call went against Miami and the Bills got all the breaks. Every week, every game, fans of every team feel this to be true, in fact I'm sure there are Chiefs fans today complaining how the Bills got all the breaks
  10. I think instead you'll see a CB drafted in one of first two rounds and have Jackson as backup and T Johnson for nickel. To me CB, DT, and interior line are their biggest draft needs. Could draft DT and CB in 1st two, then guard/center. They way Star is playing it probably makes sense to bring him back for another season, but could draft his replacement in 2nd or 3rd and let him sit a year as sub. Not sure you could sign someone for better value when you ad in the dead cap money you'd be paying Star.
  11. I think it's hard to hire front office types in January as they have too much intel on teams drafting thoughts. It's for that reason that front office contracts typically expire in May. Would Carolina given permission to sign Beane in January, maybe not. Think they also signed someone from Miami, again, maybe wouldn't have been able to in Jan. The other side of it too, if Whaley is let go in January, you're now kind of going into the draft blind and even worse, he could have signed with another team and given away all the Bills thoughts on upcoming draft.
  12. McD has been doing this pretty much the last two seasons, the difference is he didn't have nearly as good a fleet of horses as he does this year to do it with. The one thing that helps too is they don't have an Arron Donald type on the team as likely if you had to pay top $$ for any specific D lineman, you wouldn't be able to afford 8 other very good ones. Having Epenesa, Rousseau, Basham, plus Oliver on rookie contracts helps, plus not paying big money to either Zimmer or Obada. Does make me wonder though, if they had a Bruce Smith type on the team, would they sub him out more or not. Seems it's the trend in many sports for stars to play less.
  13. Anyone want to start a pool on how long T Lance lasts without getting hurt. The amount he's running and hits he's taking, can't see this going well too long.
  14. With 9 active DL got to expect a couple out. Like was mentioned earlier, a couple of Bills can move inside too.
  15. About a week ago, You Tube TV which I have announced that unless they reached agreement with NBC Universal in next few days, all channels would be dropped including NBC. But they also announced as long as the channels were out, they were going to reduce the monthly fee by $10 I thought that's a good deal, could get Peacock for $5 and save $5 per month. Unfortunately they settled within about two days. No idea if the fact that they offered to reduce the rates caused them to settle faster or not, can't imagine a reason it would, but never know.
  16. I see there were other emails using "vulgar terms" to describe Goddell and also ripped other team owners. Based on what was bleeped out, the vulgar term was pretty tame
  17. Yes Cleveland could have taken him, would the Jets' have then taken Mayfield, maybe. Denver was ready to trade with us till Bradley Chubb fell into their lap, so highly unlikely they'd have taken Allen as they weren't looking for a QB. Could the Bills instead have ended up with Darnold, maybe either him or Mayfield. Either choice wouldn't have been terrible. McD stated he didn't want to take a QB in 2017 as he hadn't had enough time to study them. If he had known Maholmes were to end up the way he did, maybe he'd have changed his mind, but at the time he had alot of questions, maybe almost as many as Allen had going into the draft. Most of the time backing into the draft means you lose your last game, but still get in. That wasn't the case here. The Bills game ended about 20 minutes prior to the end of the Bengals game. So if the ending times were reversed, would that mean they didn't back in? Every year, the last week of the season, things change, teams get in and others get out. I guess last year Cleveland and think it was Indy both backed in as if Miami had beaten the Bills they'd be in and one of those two out. Don't recall anyone talking about Cleveland backing in. In fact the only way any team ever makes the playoffs is by another team losing either this week or last week, or maybe 2 weeks prior. But if according to you a team losing means that you backed in, then every team in the league backs in every year. Regardless winning 9 games with that talent in 2017 was still impressive whether they made the playoff or not.
  18. Agree, Allen has changed things. McVay and to a lesser degree, Shanahan also have had good QB play. The defense has been up and down, one year good, another not so good. The D may have been better too as without Allen, not as likely the Diggs trade gets down, so more picks. They also may not have traded up as high to say draft the other Josh which could have left more picks that year too.
  19. Watching the Jets game and all the off-season gushing over Robert Saleh made me wonder what will they think of him in 3 to 4 years. He was the sexy hire, but will he actually be any good? So got me thinking about the very un-sexy hire by the Bills in 2017. I found a few articles ranking the hires and for the most part McD was ranked near the bottom of the 6 hires. Some of the articles ranked the Marrone hire above the Bills. Found only one article that liked the McD hire. Here's a comment from Fox Sports: The Bills didn’t retain Anthony Lynn as their full-time head coach after making him the interim head coach for Week 17, which was a bit of a surprising move. Instead, they opted to hire former Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott. It’s not that it was a bad hire, but with all the issues the Bills have in the front office, and the lack of success they’ve had for the past two decades, McDermott likely won't bring the quick turnaround they need. At the very least, he should be able to turn around the defense, which was inexplicably bad under Rex Ryan. What’s unclear, though, is how much of the Panthers’ defensive success was McDermott’s doing and how much was the fact that Ron Rivera was the head coach. We’ll find out relatively soon, but the bigger questions for McDermott loom on offense. Will the Bills’ dominant ground game continue without Lynn? Will he be able to continue Tyrod Taylor’s development as a quarterback, if Taylor returns next season? These are two of the biggest questions McDermott will have to answer. This article ranked McD 5th and Lynn 3rd. Another article from NFL.com ranked Lynn the #1 hire and McD last. Two of the hires that season were Shanahan (29-35) and McVay (43-21) compared to McD (38-26) Goff also had one season under his belt when McVay was hired so that likely helped his record some the 1st year. Overall nothing to complain about much when looking at McD's record compared to them. Lynn and V Joseph are both gone. The other "great hire" think it was in 2016 with Pederson and the Eagles, another one who's now on the un-employed list. At the time was hard to argue with most of the articles as many here too were not all that happy with the McD hire. But interesting how many of the hot names, while great coordinators, never worked out as head coach. Will Saleh join that list. This year CBS ranks U Meyer as the 2nd best hire!
  20. Yeah I was thinking Jones was prior to McD being here, but was informed was McD's first draft prior Beane.
  21. Seemed like ages ago he was drafted!
  22. Yes but wasn't Jones drafted prior to McD and Beane?? OK never mind, see McD was here when drafted, no Beane yet though. No wait, Beane was calling McD from Carolina and telling who to pick. I recall reading it hear.
  23. Just curious, which are the two you're referring to?? The only ones I can think of are Ford and Joseph the LB?
  24. I recall a guy back in the 70's when they'd show title boxing matches a week or two later on ABC Wide World of Sports, bet his wife $20 who'd win the fight.
