  1. I like Burton as a player. However, he seems to be a head case and not a great fit from a culture standpoint. He stuck a female Tennessee fan who came on the field after they upset Alabama. Stories of him being difficult to deal with and not being liked by teammates. It's rumored he wasn't invited to the Senior Bowl because they thought he might be a problem and didn't want him there.
  2. When we're creating a fear thread for a Free Agent Running Back, who's played 9 games in 2 years, simply *visiting* the Chiefs, on a Bills board - the Chiefs obsession has gotten out of control.
  3. S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson - Texas Tech DT DeWayne Carter - Duke WR Luke McCaffrey - Rice RB Braelon Allen - Wisconsin
  4. There's a number of players that have the Addae connection. Kam Kinchens, Javon Bullard, and Tykee Smith all also fit that same mold. Javon Bullard is far and away my favorite of the group.
  5. Teams are using a revised chart these days. The modern trade chart, that more accurately reflects trades done in recent memory than that of the ancient Jimmy chart, does. It's the bottom of the 3rd, but it's a 3rd. 128 is 19 pts. 133 is 17 pts. That's 36 pts. Pick 99 is 36 pts. Pick 100 is 35 pts. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart-Rich-Hill.asp
  6. If the board falls right for us in Round 1 and Round 2 and he's able to not get antsy, I wonder if one of the scenarios he's played with is to move the two 4th's for a 3rd, two of the 3 5th's to get back into the 4th, and 2 of the 3 6th's to get an extra 5th. Would bring us to 8 picks with 1 pick in every Round and 2 picks in the 5th.
  7. Not *completely* freely. The Practice Squad, 52nd and 53rd Roster Spot, and the In Season Spending Pot can come from Tre's 6/1 money. But Draft Picks are all signed before 6/1 these days with the new Rookie wage scale system, generally within days following the Draft. So that money needs to come out of what we have right now, meaning we could probably spend around 5-6m now (depending on whether OTC or Spotrac is correct) if we wanted to. But not all of it.
  8. And then the worst teams just stay the worst forever with no chance of ever possibly turning it around unless they luck out and land on a Diamond in the Rough. Ridiculous idea.
  9. I wouldn't be thrilled with Franklin at 28 either, personally. I'm not sure of the fit with Worthy and McConkey as far as offsetting what we have already, but i'd DEFINITELY prefer them over Franklin if they were on the board. Though if we were to trade down from 28 or up from 60, he'd definitely be preferable to me over Walker at 60. My personal ranking of WR's up to Walker is as follows: Marvin Harrison Jr. - Ohio State Malik Nabers - LSU Rome Udunze - Washington Brian Thomas Jr. - LSU Adonai Mitchell - Texas Xavier Legette - South Carolina Xavier Worthy - Texas Ladd McConkey - Georgia Keon Coleman - Florida State Troy Franklin - Oregon Ricky Pearsall - Florida Ja'lynn Polk - Washington Malachi Corley - Western Kentucky Roman Wilson - Michigan Devontez Walker - North Carolina And guys like Javon Baker, Jermaine Burton, and Jalen McMillan have a fairly similar grade to Walker, in my opinion. This is an all time WR class as far as depth goes. Because of this, it wouldn't shock me in the least if he slid to Day 3. It also wouldn't shock me if he went at the end of Round 2 - though as I said, I feel it's a little bit of a reach. If we go elsewhere in Round 1, I wouldn't want to wait to take what's left at 60. I'd prefer a move up for who's left in my Top 10 guys. When it comes to guys at 60, I'd prefer Polk, Pearsall, Wilson, or Corley. Even though with Pearsall, Corley, and Wilson, I also worry about a lack of offset or fit - i'd still take them at 60 over Walker.
  10. Oh my God. Someone doesn't have to *die* for there to be an offense with repercussions, possibly major. No one has said that he's going to have a Henry Ruggs like punishment or is comparing the end result to Ruggs. But you don't have to kill someone to be charged with something or be punished. A crime of a hit and run involving bodily harm (even minor) is a felony offense. And the clapbacks at you stem from you claiming no one will or should be arrested for anything and no one was injured. By the letter of the law and what's been reported - these assertions are completely incorrect. And it's interesting you should mention Henry Ruggs earlier. Is this the same result? Thankfully no. But it's the same action from a comparable 2nd year player and Ruggs is still in recent memory. I could easily see a scenario where Goodell and the League want to make an example of him to try and prevent this kind of behavior happening again.
  11. People don't have to die or the car burst into flames to fall under the terms of fleeing a hit and run involving bodily harm. That's not a nothing charge. I don't know if he's going to be tried or serve time or not. I don't know for 100% certainty he was driving or that they can prove that he was. Though it appears to me that he was there and he was driving, I don't know if it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt or not. But this idea you're perpetuating that since no car burst into flames and no one died it's a non story and that there were absolutely no injuries is factually wrong and the level of downplay you're arguing for the offense is simply put, downright embarrassing from your end.
  12. Looking at the pictures of the parties involved and watching the video, it appears to me that it's more likely than not he *was* driving. Whether he was driving his car or another car is really a moot point. He's in the black shirt. As you mentioned, he's the second to come out of the front passenger door. The guy in the white shirt comes out the back passenger door. No one comes out the driver side door. Meaning the front side passenger came out first and the driver maneuvered himself over the center console to come out the passenger door. What are you talking about? You don't see video of passengers of all SIX vehicles involved in the crash getting out fine in the video. You just see some of the parties involved. Every outlet has reported there are injuries. Reported as "minor" by TMZ, but that could mean simply not life threatening. But the point remains, your assertion that everyone walked away without any injuries is factually false.
  13. And you know this how? People are brought in for visits that last until the 4th or later all the time. There was as many Day 3 picks visiting as Day 1 or Day 2 just last year: https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2023/04/nfl-draft-2023-buffalo-bills-top-30-visit-zoom-and-private-workout-tracker.html As for Walker himself, I personally have him as the 15th WR I'd take. Even removing Slot or Tweener role WR's, he's still only my 11th Outside WR. And that's pretty on par for where most analysts have him. Of course when it comes to the Draft, NFL boards are the only thing that matter. But in my personal opinion, I'd prefer we didn't wait to a point where we're taking Walker as our first option. It's one thing to say maybe the Bills think of him more highly than myself and most analysts. It's another to declare that they do, based on a Pre-Draft visit.
  14. Just because you don't see fire and a car mangled into a ball doesn't mean there wasn't injuries. There reportedly is - thankfully listed as mild. But even "mild injuries" in a 6 car highway car crash involving cars hitting the wall could still be fairly nasty - with the "mild" simply meaning non-life threatening. While I can appreciate the concept of not condemning someone until all the facts come in, this (and other posts) seems to be too much of an overcorrection. It's one thing to say let's wait until all the facts come out and he may not have been there or behind the wheel. It's another to essentially say it's no big deal and that it's not something anyone should be arrested for, when by definition, it is.
  15. I'd imagine it has more to do with where Tyler Bass feels kicking best from rather than being dictated to. Move him up closer and you're setting yourself up for more blocks. The ball doesn't go straight off of his foot over the defenders outstretched hands. There's times where Bass needs to push it and it's dangerously low as is.
  16. Now he's photoshooting fake tweets from Damar supposedly from over a decade ago, yet don't exist on his account.
  17. If we go another position in Round 1 than WR, I would hope we'd trade up from 60 a bit to get someone who's higher up on my (and most Draft Experts) board than Walker. He's pretty far down the list for most and I feel like he'd be a little bit of a reach, even at 60.
  18. That's awesome, but again, the exceptions - not the rule. I'm simply saying that you HOPE that whomever we take is good and can become great. But there's no guarantee that simply taking one means you're getting a Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, or Cooper Kupp level talent. Round 1 at WR doesn't guarantee we've just gotten ourselves one of the best WR's in the NFL - like the names you're invoking imply. You could draft the next Justin Jefferson. Or you could end up with the next Quentin Johnston, Treylon Burks, Kadarius Toney, Rashod Bateman, Henry Ruggs, Jaelon Raegor, or N'Keal Harry level talent. The only prospects that you can consider "Ja'Marr Chase or Justin Jefferson level talents" are Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers. Even they're projections and we aren't sniffing either one of them.
  19. You talk of it as if taking a guy in Round 1 means that's what we're getting. Ideally, we're able to Draft a guy who becomes that. But that's a MASSIVE ask at 28. Jefferson was drafted at 25 and was WR5. But he's very much the exception, not the rule. And Chase was drafted 5th overall. I think we should take a WR in Round 1. But invoking the names of Jefferson and Chase are some mighty lofty expectations.
  20. Oh yay - another Diggs trade thread. Joy. If Diggs were to be or will be traded (which was/is very unlikely) - it would have happened before 3/17 and now it wouldn't happen until after 6/1. Beane's not locking in his 18.5m salary (which was guaranteed on 3/17) first before moving him or taking on a full 31m Dead Cap hit all at once (which is what it would be to do it post 3/17 and before 6/1). I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if it were to happen even after 6/1 and before next season - as, capped or not, I don't see Beane making Pegula dish out an 18.5m dollar check for a player that won't be here.
  21. You beat me to it. I hope we Draft him just so everytime he makes a play I can say
  22. I just mean in the sense of a converted Rugby player from the International Pathway Program that gets some headlines, but ultimately doesn't work out. Maybe he bucks the trend when it comes to a skill player. But outside of OT Jordan Mailata for the Eagles, the IPP hasn't yielded much.
  23. That's some serious conjecture there. There's any number of reasons he couldn't get more playing time. When Deebo needed to be replaced as a Starter, he was just a Freshman. There were 3 WR's who ended up being Drafted at WR from South Carolina during his time there before last season. College teams don't hold open competitions for every position every season. It could have been as simple as the coach just personally preferred others over him until last season. That doesn't confirm he's a lesser player or any of the other things you said. Players get buried in Division 1 all the time.
  24. Yeah, I'm not understanding the people who are like "look at the tape" when it comes to Franklin. As I've said before, I think "the tape" refers to YouTube highlight reels. When you dig deeper than that, there's a lot of uninspiring stuff in the footage. Stuff that the Combine performance seemed to confirm. Leading up to the Combine, fans on this board were way higher on him than a lot of the experts were. Now that we get further and further away from the Combine, there's a push by the people that fell in love with the highlight reel to say "forget about what you saw at the Combine, just look at the shiny highlight video". They also seem to want to go "oh, he was sick? That explains everything, pay no mind to the Combine". A couple major problems with that for me: 1.) Sickness had no bearing on him being 2" shorter than he was listed and having under 9" hands. 2.) If his sickness contributed to his slower than expected times - why didn't he re-run the 10 yard split and 40 Yard Dash at his Pro Day? There also seems to be this idea that us having a Private Workout with him means that we're heavily interested in him. In all actuality, that's not a good thing. Top Prospects aren't generally asked to re-do their workouts or agree to do that on a visit. Us asking and him agreeing to do that speaks to how badly he looked at the Combine and how they view him now. Long story short, the "tape" isn't anywhere near as strong as the few minute highlights would lead you to believe. And the Combine dispelled the things that made me think he was a 1st Round guy before I watched more than just highlight reels and seemingly confirmed the concerns I had from when I did. Troy is not one of the 8 WR's I have a 1st Round Grade on. He's my WR10 and I'd only be interested if we went with another position in Round 1 and couldn't get one of the first 9 guys I have above him.
