  1. My dude - you're nuts if you think people just like Dion for his personality. He was one of the best LT's in the game last season. He was constantly earning praise from analysts and former OL all year. We had the best Offensive Line we had in years last year. And a large part of that was the play of Dawkins and Brown. A succession plan isn't even a thought in anyone's mind right now. Especially Beane's. And I'm simply baffled by you trash talking either after last year. And OT's play 100% of the snaps or damn close to it. It isn't a position you "rotate" like DL. You want to Draft competition or an upgrade from the Backups of Ryan Van Demark and Tyson Grable? That's fine. But you don't spend a premium pick on a Backup OT. Especially with the amount of holes we have on this team right now. As for the CB statement - players bust. It happens. Just because Kaiir Elam was a bust doesn't mean every CB Drafted in Round 1 is going to be Kaiir Elam. It's really flawed thinking to think that way. I'm not saying you pigeon hole a CB in Round 1 if the value isn't there. But we're not in a position to wait until Round 5 to take one. It would be absolute malpractice to have 4 2nd Round Picks and not take a CB with any of them. Going into next season with Dane Jackson or a 5th Rounder as a Starter opposite Benford would have opposing QB's licking their chops. Btw - we've only Drafted a CB twice in Round 1. The other time? Tre'Davious White. So your "definition of insanity"... doesn't even track.
  2. Great Offensive Tackles can play late into their 30's. Jason Peters was starting at LT when he was damn near 40. Dion Dawkins is under contract until 2028. Spencer Brown is under contract until 2029. Both are coming off perhaps the best seasons of their careers. They're playing at an incredibly high level. It's an absolutely insane notion to look at the play of our Tackles last season and think we need a succession plan in place. You don't spend a pick on an OT that high to be a Backup for what is most likely the entirety of their Rookie contract. It's even crazier to look at Spencer Brown's play over the last two years and go "yeah but he didn't look great his first two seasons".
  3. Not your Draft. That was awful. Even without you spending a 2nd on an Undraftable Player who's been criminally charged with Sexual Assault with an affidavit released to the public that shows an open and shut case. Why would we spend a 2nd on an OT with Dawkins and Brown locked up for years, still young, and each playing at a very high level? You want to roll out Dane Jackson or a 5th Rounder (at best) as our starting CB opposite Benford?
  4. I thought this was pretty cool. Using Josh Allen's inspirational story as an example for perseverance and self improvement.
  5. I'd prefer a 1T, a CB, and a WR with those first 3 picks. But as long as they get a 1T and a CB with 2 of the first 3 - I'm flexible with the other pick.
  6. This is no one. Just your average follow for follow (and a pretty poor one at that if he follows 5k and has 2k followers) wannabe "source". He knows nothing. Just another Twitter handle that throws things on the wall and hopes something coincidentally happens so he can be "validated".
  7. Yes, I did say you were right - didn't I? When it comes to this kind of charge though, it's highly unlikely the Police see enough to pursue a warrant and a Judge signs off on it and the DA doesn't go forward. Especially since the cops met her at the hospital where she was being checked. They have messages from him apologizing for what he did, saying "alcohol makes me do things", messages of him asking her to sign an NDA and offering her money that she refused. No way it doesn't go forward. Usually, an allegation comes out, it's investigated and then it's announced there will be no criminal charges. It's clear the Police investigated, pursued a warrant, and charged him. That wouldn't happen without evidence - that they have. That makes this a much bigger deal than even Araiza's was. And we all know how that went. Even after being released, not a single team in the league would touch him until there was no doubt that he wouldn't be arrested for that kind of charge. That's already happened for Bond.
  8. You missed Shavon Revel Jr. He hasn't been taken and he'd be the top CB available right now. It would be him or Grant as the Top 2 options, imo.
  9. If there's a warrant out for you and you've needed to post bond - you've been charged. Though you're right, a DA could step in and not pursue the charges. But if he turned himself in, that means they investigated and saw enough there to arrest him and charge him. Cops aren't going to go through the process of going to a Judge for a warrant and the Judge isn't going to sign off on the warrant unless there's evidence. Either way, as opposed to most allegations that you see with athletes - this one is a criminal charge by Police.
  10. Do they? When was the last time someone came into the Draft officially criminally charged with Rape? Again, we're not talking an allegation. We're talking about someone who was investigated and the DA proceeded with charges. I would be floored if anyone Drafted him.
  11. I don't see that being a thought for a Bills pick. Again, for the past 4 years - we've averaged at the 28th pick. I don't see a team looking at our future 1st and going "maybe it turns into a Top 5 - we'll give them full value for that pick next year". Like Weather said, the closest we have to compare it to is the Julio trade from 27 to 6. That was two 1st's, a 2nd, and 2 4th's. This is 30 to 4. Which, again, is a differential of a Bottom 2nd/Top 3rd on top of that. 2 1st's, 2 2nds isn't enough.
  12. It was 2 1st's, a 2nd, and 2 4ths. And that was 27 to 6. This is 30 to 4. Which using the Jimmy Johnson model OP is using (which is antiquated btw) would be an additional 260 points. Which equates to a bottom 2nd/top 3rd on top of that package. And Julio Jones is pretty much the *only* example. Everyone brings it up every year as if it's the norm. That was about a decade and a half ago. This is even more than that. Would be unprecedented in the modern era. People almost never move down the board that much. We'd really have to make it worth their wile.
  13. I see the comparison you're making. But that's 2 late 1st's and a top 2nd. That's not getting you in the Top 4 from 30 to get Hunter. The trade proposal you're quoting is also flawed in that he's overvaluing the 2026 1st. As rough as that proposal looks - it's still not enough.
  14. Keep hoping. Nobody's touching a guy with an official criminal charge of SA. Again, this isn't an accusation situation. This is a full blown, DA signing off on an arrest warrant for one of the most heinous acts a human can commit and for a charge that's notoriously hard to get a DA to sign off on. No team is going to put their support behind someone who has been formally charged with that kind of crime. No one would touch Araiza with a ten foot pole on the mere possibility that a criminal charge for that COULD come down. Bond HAS been criminally charged. That's game over. No team is going to attach their name and their brand behind someone like that. It's one thing to say "i've seen the accusations, but I believe he's innocent and it's unlikely he'll be charged". It's another to say "I believe that law enforcement and the district attorney have it wrong and we'll be behind him the whole way through the trial". Ain't no way. If you thought the PR was bad for us Drafting Araiza, that's nothing in comparison to having to explain why you Drafted someone who has been officially criminally charged. That kind of charge isn't coming down unless there's a serious case that they think is winnable. And on top of all of that, the league isn't going to let him see the field until the legal stuff has been cleared up. Which could take years. Even if he paid off the accuser - the damage is already done with him being charged. Teams and the public know that there was enough there for charges to be filed. In comparison to a situation like Araiza where as bad as things looked, criminal charges were never filed.
  15. People need to shake that "Elam Terror". He was a bust. It happens. But that doesn't mean that every late 1st, fast, long, physical CB is going to be Elam. Just as every 6th Round CB isn't going to become Benford. Yes, we picked a lemon in the late 1st of 2022 in Elam. But in 2017, we also selected Tre White at the bottom of the 1st.
  16. It depends who they like at CB. If it's Revel, you take him. He's unlikely to make it to 30. Almost definitely won't be there if you Trade down - unless it's a 30-33 type trade where you're feeling very confident that the Eagles or Chiefs aren't taking a CB. Even then, someone could trade up. It's likely Revel is off the board and Amos or Hairston are the top available. It's kind of a toss up on who would go first there. Though most have it as Amos. Again, if they have a preference for Amos and Revel is off the board, you probably just want to select him. You're playing a dangerous game moving down and expecting the guy you like is still going to be there - the way I see things playing out.
  17. Our 2026 1st isn't worth 700 points. First off, our average pick over the past 4 seasons is 28 (actually 28.25, but you can't quantify a quarter pick - so round down). Whichever team we trade with isn't going to assume we're going to pick higher than that. More importantly though, picks in later years aren't worth the full amount. It's a generally accepted Practice that future picks the following year are worth a full Round less. A 1st is a different story than other rounds. But it's still not full value - let alone worth more than our 1st this year.
  18. A Day 2 RB isn't going to happen unless they've traded Cook. Which, as of today, isn't going to happen. The latest report is that "Cook is going to play for the Buffalo Bills in 2025". Obviously if things change and you hear that he's going to holdout or that Buffalo has had it, that would be a different story. But as of now - that's not the case. And we have a full RB room. We aren't going to carry more than three and Ray Davis and Ty Johnson aren't going anywhere. Even if they decided to carry 4 (which is unlikely), they aren't going to dress 4 on Game Day. Which would mean one of Cook, the Day 2 Draft Pick, Davis, or Johnson wouldn't be active.
  19. Where do you see this? If it's a "rumor" surely it's been said by no one of merit. DK Metcalf went for #52. In no world is James Cook worth #34. He's no higher than a Late 3rd value at most and more likely a 4th. RB's don't get traded for that these days. Especially RB's in the last year of their deal, angling for a top dollar contract, in the year of a very good RB Draft class.
  20. Not in 2020. Threatened to hold out, showed up to camp without a new deal... https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/dalvin-cook-will-hold-out-without-a-new-contract https://www.nfl.com/news/vikings-rb-dalvin-cook-minnesota-is-where-i-want-to-be-at
  21. The new Wall of Fame won't even be in the Stadium. It will be outside the stadium located in the "Family Circle Area". I really don't think you're going to see OJ Simpson there... They didn't take his name down, in my opinion, because that would be a bigger story than leaving it up and because they'd have to put someone's name in the OJ Simpson spot - which no one would want. Obviously, we won't know for sure until we see the new "Wall". But if I had to place a bet - I think he'll be omitted.
  22. There's a massive difference between an "accusation" and a DA filing criminal charges. When it comes to SA, more often than not - charges aren't filed bc it's one word against the other and there's not enough evidence. The fact that a warrant was issued for his arrest speaks volumes. Araiza, for example, was cut and no one would touch him with a ten foot pile on the mere possibility that he COULD be charged Bond HAS been charged. This is not a simple accusation. There'd be nothing to turn himself in and post bond for unless they felt there were a solid case.
  23. Ah, well - I think that's a combination of things. First, it's way more exciting when we're in the market for a playmaker than it is when we're in the market for things like a Nose Tackle or a Cornerback. On top of that, it was a very deep class for the things we were in the market for last year. This year's class seems pretty underwhelming. There's maybe 15 guys with a First Round grade. And we're probably not going to be in a position to grab one of those guys. I do find myself way more detatched this year compared to other years bc of the positions we're looking at and our position in the Draft. Most years I do extensive work on prospects. This year I have a pretty rudimentary knowledge on some of the guys and am more or less just going to look into the guys we pick when we pick them.
  24. This isn't an Araiza situation. Araiza was deemed guilty in the court of public opinion, with what seemed to be insurmountable evidence against him. But the Police never charged him. Even with just the mere threat of *possibly* being charged, there wasn't a team in the league that would touch him. As we've seen with cases of Sexual Assault, most DA's don't charge unless they believe they have a winnable case with serious evidence. The fact that this DA issued an arrest warrant and he's being officially criminally charged for SA makes him undraftable. No team is going to take him and say "I think the police and the district attorney are wrong, he's innocent, and we're drafting and putting our brand and support behind someone who's facing criminal charges for one of the most heinous acts a human can commit".
  25. I think it's pretty on par with most years. At least as far as newsworthy things. Draft/Develop/Retain really is Beane's MO - for better or worse. He puts so much of the percentage of our cap into our own that it doesn't really leave much for him to go wild. Combined with the fact that he's also fairly conservative, where his focus is making sure the team is in position to compete every year rather than mortgaging the future. Again, for better or worse. Outside of the signing of Miller, the trade for Diggs, and the year we were after a QB and grabbed Allen, things have always been pretty underwhelming with him. It's the same story every year. The offseason comes and posters get it in their head this is the year he's going to go all in. Even though we have 8 years of data that shows that would be akin to a tiger changing it's stripes. And every year he shows - it's just not in his DNA and people are bored/disappointed.
