  1. Thank you! Everyone loves to say "old CB who doesn't have it for Corner anymore? Move them to Safety". That's not how it works. You need to have the traits necessary to make that switch. Tre does not have those traits.
  2. Beane signing him to come to Camp doesn't guarantee he has full trust in him or is relying on him. There's tons of players on this roster right now, guys we've signed as UFA's this offseason, that are guys brought in to compete and he probably isn't expecting to make it. And there's guys every season that are re-signed to their former teams out of respect for them, giving them one last shot. He'll be given a chance to compete. He could make it as a depth guy. He could also just as easily be beaten by Dane Jackson and/or a Rookie they really like and didn't expect to be there for a Double Dip on Day 3.
  3. Just like Micah Hyde for sure seeing the field, right? You've got 1 on me for Diggs. And ever since then you've posted this on practically *every* post i've made and there hasn't been even ONE instance where what you've countered with has rung true. I've got the reciepts and could list them all off, if you want...
  4. Did he? Because all I remember from that Ravens game was him being beat by Keon friggin' Coleman and drawing a PI flag to prevent more. Tre changes nothing. He either makes the squad as depth, in which case Dane Jackson or Ja'Marcus Ingram is gone, or he's cut after Camp. But in no way is he someone they're relying on, in my opinion.
  5. Key words "up to". I'm willing to bet there's extremely little in terms of guarantees.
  6. I'm thoroughly confused at what you're saying. Christian Benford doesn't want a talented CB opposite him? If you're alleging that every late Round CB can become Christian Benford - why didn't that happen with Rachad Wildgoose, Alex Austin, Dane Jackson, or Daequan Hardy? If you're alleging that every Day 1 or Day 2 CB we take will be as bad as Kaiir Elam - why didn't Tre'Davious White suck?
  7. We have two Drafted and then cut Punter's. Neither is a sure thing. One could be cut as soon as after Mini-Camp, if there's a guy they like in the Draft. We have 10 picks. It's not madness to use one of our last picks on a Punter (where good Punters tend to go). If you can find a Starting Punter you like with your last pick in lieu of a player you're probably just going to cut - I don't think that's crazy at all. Desmond Watson is an UDFA level prospect. And not even a Priority one. There's a reason why you get an "F" when you take him in Mocks, even with our last pick. Just bc he's big doesn't mean he's good. You see size and think "unmovable". But when you're that heavy, if you're able to get him off balance with good technique, you can leverage his weight against him - and make him easier to topple over than someone smaller. If his size equated to him being an unmovable beast, he'd be a higher valued prospect than he is.
  8. That mock wouldn't go down that way irl. If they went DT at 30, they wouldn't sit pat while 5 CB's went between 36-54. He'd have moved up a little before the well ran dry. It was only a double dip in the mock bc there's no system in place for a Bills trade up and the 2nd Round value CB's, DE's, and WR's were all off the board.
  9. Waiting for the crowd of people who don't want a CB Drafted in the first 3 picks to come in and argue he's still good...
  10. That's not nearly enough for 34. Cook's value is maybe a high 4th - given that he's a RB (notoriously terrible trade values), in the last year of his deal (lowers that value), is publicly angling for a top dollar deal (lowers that value more), and in the year of a very good RB class (lowers that value even more). If you said like a bottom 2nd for that package, *maybe*. Our 1st 4th and let's set the first pick in the 4th as Cook's valuation - would get you to like the 10th pick in Round 3. Maybe someone gives a slightly higher value for Cook than that. But he's not getting so much more value than that (along with our first pick in the 4th) to get you as high as the 2nd pick in Round 2. For context, we could package both 56 and 62 and that would get us as high as either 32 or 33, depending on if 32 was willing to eat 2 points or we were willing to eat 2 points for 33 (182 pts total for 56 and 62 combined v. 184 pts for 32 or 180 pts for 33). Which is immediately right above where you're suggesting. And neither 109 nor Cook come close to either values of 56 or 62. To make up the difference between our top 4th (Pick 109 is worth 30 pts.) and 34 (worth 175 pts.) - James Cook alone would need to be worth Pick 41 (the 9th Pick in Round 2 worth 146 pts.). And that's a MUCH higher valuation than even the absolute most we could hope to get for him. For further context, DK Metcalf (a #1 WR who was also in the last year of his deal and was also angling for top dollar) was only worth Pick 52. In no world is Metcalf worth 52 and Cook is worth 41. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart-Rich-Hill.asp
  11. There is precedence for 27 to 6 in the Julio Jones trade. A move up of 21 picks. The discussed trade is a move up of 26 picks in Round 1. From 30 to 4. That's what I referred to as unprecedented - because it would be. Edit: What are you disagreeing with here, @TheWeatherMan? Do you not understand what the word 'unprecedented' means?
  12. We won't sniff Will Johnson. He could have skipped doing a Pro Day entirely and he still wouldn't fall to a reasonable area to trade up to.
  13. You need a 1T and a CB within those top 3 picks. You can go BPA with the other. Don't force a pick if the board doesn't fall right at either position of need. If there isn't value at either need in Round 1, move down (unless there's a BPA that's sticking out like a sore thumb at another position). Then use the extra pick(s) in the move down (on top of the others) to move around Round 2 freely to secure those players of need at their correct value. With the holes we have at those positions and the (lack of) options at those positions in the veteran market - we can't leave Round 2 without addressing both of those spots, in my opinion.
  14. The concern to me wouldn't be the Pass Rush, per se. It would be that there would be no time for Pass Rush to be generated bc between Jackson/Ingram/Late Round Pick at Starting CB and some uninspiring combo of 2 from the field of Rapp, Bishop, Hamlin, and Forrest at Safety - that ball is coming out of the hands of the QB lightning fast. Just like last year.
  15. You know, those "Elite" Edge Rushers like Emmanuel Ogbah and Carl Lawson 😄
  16. If this Draft played out, Beane is definitely moving up. With Revel, Amos, Porter, Thomas, and Morrison on the board at 30 - I could see him thinking he can wait and one of them will fall to 56. But if it fell this way where they all go between 36-54, I think he'd definitely move up before the well went dry.
  17. Oh - that's another hot take! I, uh... I actually liked those Arena League looking jerseys 🥺
  18. You joke but the sad part is there's people reading that going "hell yeah brother!" Considering he signed a 1 yr deal for 6.7m of which 5.4m of that is guaranteed, after they got word of the suspension - that would be pretty surprising. If they wanted out, having him put pen to paper on a practically fully guaranteed contract after they found out instead of simply pulling the deal, when they easily could have (or at least lowered or completely removed the guarantees) - would be a particularly head scratching decision.
  19. I know you're going off some sort of ranking list. But i'd say the past week or so changes things quite a bit when it comes to Isaiah Bond...
  20. A Hot Take is a personal opinion. If you said "I think he'll trade Cook", that'd be a take. You stated flat out he has things lined up.
  21. Well said. My thing isn't that he should let everyone walk. Just that he needs to be more judicious about the extensions he hands out. For every one to two that I would do, he does three or four. Cut back a little bit and he could afford to get better improvements and maybe someone who is a truly special player - as opposed to gambling on guys that he thinks can be more in our building than they've shown to be (like Palmer and Hoecht this year).
  22. He has deals lined up? According to whom?
  23. Brandon Beane needs to do less retaining of Drafted players. Guys like Dawson Knox, Terrel Bernard, Greg Rousseau, Ed Oliver, and Tyler Bass for example shouldn't have gotten second contracts - in my opinion. Extensions save us a little in cap space in the moment, but never enough to do something major in the Free Agent and Trade market and prohibits our Cap Space in later years - preventing us from back loading contracts. Before FA opened, everyone discussed the (often unrealistic) things they'd like to see us do. I pointed to the fact that Benford, Shakir, Cook, Rousseau, and Bernard's contracts were coming up and he'd want to do some of those. Multiple people said they shouldn't be a thought. Go all in on guys like DK Metcalf, Myles Garrett (who ended up not available), D.J. Reed, Milton Williams, Jevon Holland, etc. and worry about those guys later. While I knew that wasn't realistic or what I'd do, even I didn't see us retaining 4 of that 5 and maybe all 5 when it's all said and done. To me, guys like Rousseau and Bernard could have been upgraded from or replaced with Draft Picks. Long story short, it feels like far too often Beane is focusing on retaining good to pretty good players at the cost of going out and getting great players.
  24. Ghost's new single. If you're into Rock from a bygone era (specifically 80's) and you've never heard them before - give it a listen. The verse is a little too grindy for my general taste. But the hook is so catchy. It's really growing on me and I think it's his best song in years.
