  1. The hilarious thing about a possible Diggs to Patriots deal was this was the tweet I saw earlier today: So you want Diggs? 😆
  2. Let's review: WR - Lost Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper, obtained Joshua Palmer and Laviska Shenault. Right now, we have only 4 quality WR's worth rostering. We always carry 5. That's a position we should have upgraded. As it stands on paper, we haven't made waves there. Palmer is an upgrade from Hollins. Shenault is a camp body who will most likely be cut. But we still have a core that's lacking overall. CB - Lost Rasul Douglas and Kaiir Elam, obtained Dane Jackson. Right now, like WR, we're carrying 4 when we usually carry 5. Jackson should replace Elam... except right now, he doesn't. He replaces Rasul Douglas. If the season started tomorrow, Dane Jackson would be out starting CB... yikes. DT - Lost Austin Johnson, Quinton Jefferson, and Jordan Phillips, obtained Larry Ogunjobi (Suspended until Week 7). Right now, we have just Ed Oliver, Daquan Jones, and Dewayne Carter to start the season. Usually carry at least 5, sometimes 6, and we have 3. Compounding the issue is that, in my opinion, Jones is toast. If we're keeping him, he shouldn't be starting. We need 2-3 more DT's and a stud 1T as one of them. DE - Lost Von Miller and Dawuane Smoot, obtained Joey Bosa and Michael Hoecht (Suspended until Week 7) This could have been set. But Hoecht's suspension changes things. Bosa should be an upgrade from Miller, but you don't want him to be on the field much more than Miller did. Hoecht should be an upgrade from Smoot, but we won't have him until Week 7. Right now, we just have Groot, Bosa, Epenesa, and Solomon. You need another one and preferably someone who moves the needle. A trade for a Top 10 player would have us filling one of those spots. And then not addressing another until Day 3. You can't be putting Day 3 Draft Picks out for all of those roles except 1. And even if we wanted to, a team is unlikely to drop to 30. And the funniest thing is you want to keep 30 and get there. Let's review that now... Okay, I'll play along. Let's see what your proposal would get us. We'll use the modern Rich Hill Trade Chart. This is the closest thing to modern Draft trading. The Jimmy Johnson model is antiquated. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart-Rich-Hill.asp#google_vignette So you're saying 3 2's. We have 2 of those. 56 and 62. Combine those and we'll get 182 points. We don't have a third 2nd, so we'll assume you mean a 2026 2nd. The thing about following year picks is they're generally worth a round less than that year's picks (which is why we have a 4th this year for a 5th last year). So we'll go ahead and value that at the 94th pick this year, which would be 41 points. Now you say 2 3rd's. The problem is, we don't even have 1 of those this year. We'll use next year's 3rd for one of them, which values as a 4th and around 18 points. A 2027 3rd in 2025 is basically useless. So for the other, we'll trade one of our 4th's and one of our 5th's to acquire one in a separate trade. That 2025 3rd would be worth 39 points. Now you'd have us trading our last 4th as part of the deal. That's worth 18 points. Bringing the grand total of your package of 2 2025 2nd's, 1 2026 2nd, 1 2025 3rd (that we'd have to do a separate trade for), 1 2026 3rd, and 1 2025 4th to 298 points. Which on paper could get you to.... the 17th Pick in the Draft. #17 is not going to get you the best player at any of those positions. And you're *really* going to be hard pressed to have a team drop from 17 to 56. And your trade would have us picking at 17 and 30 and then not picking again until Round 5. Not to mention, not having a pick on Day 2 as a whole in 2026. Yeah... no.
  3. Two massive problems with this: 1.) Teams in the Top 10 (where that talent is) almost always don't want to drop from the top of the Draft all the way to the bottom. 2.) Even if there were a team that wanted to do that, we can't afford to give up the picks it would take to make that happen - we have far too many needs to give up the picks to do it this season. Especially after the suspensions to Hoecht and Ogunjobi. We can maneuver around the board to grab guys we like. But Top 10? Not gonna happen.
  4. The odds that we'll have no one to IR (under the new rules) by Week 7 to open up two spots on the roster is pretty slim. And i'd assume at least one of the later Round picks will be some IR funny business. He does it every year. I don't know. As it is we need 1 starting level CB. 1 starting level 1T (plus at least one more DT as we only have 3 of them on the roster opening day, one of which being Jones who shouldn't even be here anymore). 1 difference making WR. 1 difference making Edge Rusher. And we have to do it with no pick before Pick 30. I'm just not for creating another hole for simply a two round swap of picks from just Round 5 to Round 3. Kincaid in a down year put up 44 receptions for 450 yards in 13 games and that's in the role he'd have this year. 673 the year before. I don't think that's nothing and that you're going to get that from just any Day 3 Tight End Rookie. I also worry about relying on Knox. He had a decent year last season when called upon. But his hands are extremely hot and cold. Kincaid got a public gut check at the end of the year from the front office. I'm interested in seeing how he responds. I really don't think you're going to get much less than the proposed trade offer next season. Kincaid isn't Elam. Has he lived up to his billing? In season one, he was on his way. He definitely took a step back in Season 2. But I don't think he's so bad and so untalented that we've reached the point where it's like "just get him out of here". I agree with you that if someone were to straight up offer a 3rd, then that's a consideration. But not for a pick swap. If we're doing a pick swap, it would have to be us picking up something greater than a 3rd. A 4th or a 5th with him for a 2nd, you have my attention. But like I said in the OP, a 3rd is more likely to get you a Dewayne Carter or a Zack Moss than a Spencer Brown.
  5. 1.) Pocket QB's are a relic of the past. You have to be able to make things happen on the move and improvise more in today's NFL. 2.) Even if they weren't - Josh Allen isn't and never will be a straight pocket passer. Josh has greatly improved his accuracy since his College days. But he's still not at a level where he's so accurate with his passes that you can completely remove his ability to extend drives with his legs. How often have we seen passes that are just off the mark or straight up poorly thrown at receivers feet? Take away his ability to extend drives with his feet and rely solely on accuracy and you don't have an MVP QB anymore.
  6. To me, it's about the return. In this scenario - it's Kincaid and a 5th for a 3rd. We aren't gaining a pick. It's a move up and only to the 3rd. So we're creating another hole in the pass catching room with the same amount of picks. As it is, we need another WR and this would make us need another TE too (maybe 2 if they don't like Davidson replacing Morris). That's in addition to the massive amount of help we'll be looking for in the Draft on Defense. And I think that's where the focus is going to go with early picks. Most likely involving trade ups, so we won't have 10. In this scenario, I don't see them replacing the Kincaid spot with anything but a Day 3 pick. And if it's Kincaid or a Day 3 Rookie, i'd take my chances with Kincaid. As I said, i'd be open to moving him if the price is right. But he had a decent Rookie year. He obviously took a step back in Year 2 but he was also injured. If i'm giving up on a 1st Round Pick after only 2 seasons (1 of which he was dealing with injuries), it needs to be worth it. To me, a pick swap of a 5th and Kincaid for a 3rd isn't that. I think we could get the same trade or close to it next year even with another year of him like last season. IMO we're really not in a position right now (especially after the Hoecht and Ogunjobi suspensions) to create more holes to fix in the Draft while maintaining the same quanity of picks. Someone offers a 3rd straight up, i'd be more open.
  7. Keon Coleman asked his thoughts about the possibility of Stefon Diggs returning to Buffalo by Chad Johnson (Clipped from NightCap) https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxGbEA6tvbYSO_3LUQIvjIFGZRIRo1HkTo?si=SQc0lbp7pFgvD75P
  8. Thank you. My mistake.
  9. I see we've reached the point in the offseason where you look at the roster and start trying to off names for more Draft Picks. You'd have had us trading Dion Dawkins around this time in 2023. But I'll bite... As opposed to some of the names you've floated out as trade bait over the years - I'm not completely opposed to moving Kincaid. If someone wanted him and made a decent offer, I'd consider it. But moving him would leave us with Palmer, Shakir, Coleman, Samuel, and Knox. That's it. We wouldn't be getting an extra pick in this deal, just moving up from one of our 5th's to a 3rd - which is more often going to get you a Dewayne Carter or Zack Moss than a Spencer Brown or Terrel Bernard. I'm not convinced that he's going to become the star he was expected to be when he was Drafted. But I'm not so convinced he won't that I'm going to give him away for a two round swap to the 3rd after just 2 years. If that's all he'll get us, I'll take my chances with him in Year 3. Even a similar year to last year could probably get us the same trade or close to it next season if we then decided to move on.
  10. He deleted his Twitter. Probably at the advice of his agent, I'd imagine.
  11. Considering you aren't even aware of where he played last season (LA not Seattle), I shouldn't be surprised that you're unaware of the kind of season he put in. Go ahead and argue your stance on the merits and demerits of spending big money in Free Agency. But to dismiss the kind of difference maker he was last season to make your point is a true "folly". https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5938996/2024/11/22/poona-ford-chargers-defense-bills/
  12. You're aware he just signed a 3 year, thirty million dollar deal, right? It's a complete joke he couldn't see the field for us. But he was an absolute stud last year and just got a massive contract. He doesn't deserve to be on the failure list.
  13. Obviously, but I was replying to someone who was complaining about a meager cap savings and argued they should have just outright cut him and moved on with Williams. And I don't think it would have helped the cap any more to cut him. I'd assume it would have been more detrimental to do so than what we ended up doing. But it's hard to tell without looking at what the contract was before the move, that Spotrac has already updated to reflect.
  14. Spotrac has updated the contract, so I don't know what his Dead Cap hit would have been before it was changed. Right now on the restructured deal, it's at about 23m. I suspect outright cutting him wouldn't have saved us what we saved in the pay cut/restructure. Or else, they might have just done it.
  15. The truth is somewhere between his take of "he's truly sucked so far" and your take that he's a player with "great hands" and that he and Knox make for a "very good TE room". He's done some good things. He's done some bad things. Combined with injuries, he hasn't lived up to his billing when we Drafted him. That doesn't mean that he can't become that player in Year 3 or Year 4. That combined with the fact that we didn't make any vast improvements in the pass catching area (Cooper and Hollins out, just Palmer in), I lean towards keeping him. And I definitely think he's going to be here. But if someone were to offer us something of significance for him that would improve our team even in losing him, i'd certainly be open to it.
  16. We've spent Draft Picks the past couple seasons on OLB's in Dorian Williams and Edefuan Olofoshio. Yes, there's a good chance if he didn't work with us on his contract that we would have moved on from him. And again, if he were to hit the market right now based on his past couple seasons - it's unlikely he's getting anything more than a prove it deal or the guaranteed money he has on his contract, even after the pay cut. Which he can earn back in incentives that i'd imagine are more playing time based. It's like when Von took the huge cut he did last season. It's because their agents know, if they get cut, they're probably not getting what they'd get staying put with a pay cut.
  17. It does if the option is do this or we have to move on. That cut can be made back in incentives and I'm sure the incentives are probably easily obtained if you can stay on the field. If he were to say no and we cut him, given how the past couple years have gone for him - I'd doing a team would sign him to anything more than a 1 year prove it deal. And almost definitely less in guaranteed money than he'd make here, even with the pay cut.
  18. It is and it isn't. You have to keep in mind the rise in tide. Joe Marino talked about it on one of his videos. Contract prices in 2025 are significantly higher than they were even a couple years ago. And I think a lot of us are stuck in that 2022 or earlier mindset of player costs. With the rise in cap comes the rise in player costs. Teams having more money on hand means they can offer more in competing bids. Practically every player signed this year league wide had people on Twitter saying "overpay". Look at the contracts handed out to guys like Ogunjobi and Hoecht. If DK Metcalf is being paid 33m a year, then a Free Agent like Palmer is going to get 10.5. Especially if there's multiple teams in on him (and I'm sure there was). And a few years ago, that 10.5 was probably closer to 6 or 7.
  19. If you believe the order should be DL, DL, CB, WR in that order - why should he jump back up into the 3rd to grab a CB? Our 3rd pick is in the 2nd Round.
  20. Do they? Because this has become your favorite answer to literally every stance anyone has taken since people (admittedly, myself included) guaranteed Diggs wouldn't be traded. And it hasn't rung true a single time since. It didn't increase the odds of us signing Arik Armstead, or us trading up for a WR, or us taking 2 WR's in the first 2 Rounds (or at all), or Micah Hyde seeing the field for us, or us (or anyone) trading for Myles Garrett, or us (or anyone) trading for Maxx Crosby, or us trading for DK Metcalf, and surely others I'm forgetting bc you're like a broken record with this comment.
  21. Not to mention Tyreek Hill that same year for a 1st, a 2nd, two 4th's, and a 6th.
  22. It's funny to me how the cap isn't real when it comes to fans talking about us going after players. But when it comes to teams retaining players we want, they "can't" and the cap then becomes very real. The truth is, even after the Chase and Higgins deal, the Bengals are in better cap shape than we are. So if they "can't", then neither could we. In all actuality, they can just like we could. As for the letting him seek a trade - they kinda did. Unlike Garrett (who ended up staying anyways), he doesn't seem to want out. He said he preferred to stay but wants to get paid. This led to people calling and apparently the Bengals setting a "laughable" price. And since the deals to Chase and Higgins, the story hasn't been that they're now lowering their price and looking to move him. It's that they're trying to get that done. Which may be easier now that they've gotten those out of the way and perhaps structured them in a way to work around a Hendrickson deal.
  23. Where are you seeing this? Bc all I'm seeing is: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bengals-working-to-retain-trey-hendrickson-after-giving-jamarr-chase-tee-higgins-massive-deals-per-reports/ It's not impossible. The Bengals notoriously don't pay anyone. They always have a massive amount of cap space. Even with Burrow. So when they want to spend money, they can. People didn't think they could do Burrow, Higgins, and Chase either. If they want to keep Hendrickson and it seems they do, I'd bet they can make that work too.
  24. Not surprised. The Bengals are notorious for not paying anyone. So they're always massively under the cap, even with a high priced QB. So if they Draft elite talent like Chase or great players like Higgins and Hendrickson and they don't want to let them leave - they don't ever have to. It wouldn't shock me if they signed Hendrickson next too.
  25. I don't know why you're thumbs downing my post. Do you want to trade him? Bc I was against the idea.
