  1. You need a 1T and a CB within those top 3 picks. You can go BPA with the other. Don't force a pick if the board doesn't fall right at either position of need. If there isn't value at either need in Round 1, move down (unless there's a BPA that's sticking out like a sore thumb at another position). Then use the extra pick(s) in the move down (on top of the others) to move around Round 2 freely to secure those players of need at their correct value. With the holes we have at those positions and the (lack of) options at those positions in the veteran market - we can't leave Round 2 without addressing both of those spots, in my opinion.
  2. The concern to me wouldn't be the Pass Rush, per se. It would be that there would be no time for Pass Rush to be generated bc between Jackson/Ingram/Late Round Pick at Starting CB and some uninspiring combo of 2 from the field of Rapp, Bishop, Hamlin, and Forrest at Safety - that ball is coming out of the hands of the QB lightning fast. Just like last year.
  3. You know, those "Elite" Edge Rushers like Emmanuel Ogbah and Carl Lawson 😄
  4. If this Draft played out, Beane is definitely moving up. With Revel, Amos, Porter, Thomas, and Morrison on the board at 30 - I could see him thinking he can wait and one of them will fall to 56. But if it fell this way where they all go between 36-54, I think he'd definitely move up before the well went dry.
  5. Oh - that's another hot take! I, uh... I actually liked those Arena League looking jerseys 🥺
  6. You joke but the sad part is there's people reading that going "hell yeah brother!" Considering he signed a 1 yr deal for 6.7m of which 5.4m of that is guaranteed, after they got word of the suspension - that would be pretty surprising. If they wanted out, having him put pen to paper on a practically fully guaranteed contract after they found out instead of simply pulling the deal, when they easily could have (or at least lowered or completely removed the guarantees) - would be a particularly head scratching decision.
  7. I know you're going off some sort of ranking list. But i'd say the past week or so changes things quite a bit when it comes to Isaiah Bond...
  8. A Hot Take is a personal opinion. If you said "I think he'll trade Cook", that'd be a take. You stated flat out he has things lined up.
  9. Well said. My thing isn't that he should let everyone walk. Just that he needs to be more judicious about the extensions he hands out. For every one to two that I would do, he does three or four. Cut back a little bit and he could afford to get better improvements and maybe someone who is a truly special player - as opposed to gambling on guys that he thinks can be more in our building than they've shown to be (like Palmer and Hoecht this year).
  10. He has deals lined up? According to whom?
  11. Brandon Beane needs to do less retaining of Drafted players. Guys like Dawson Knox, Terrel Bernard, Greg Rousseau, Ed Oliver, and Tyler Bass for example shouldn't have gotten second contracts - in my opinion. Extensions save us a little in cap space in the moment, but never enough to do something major in the Free Agent and Trade market and prohibits our Cap Space in later years - preventing us from back loading contracts. Before FA opened, everyone discussed the (often unrealistic) things they'd like to see us do. I pointed to the fact that Benford, Shakir, Cook, Rousseau, and Bernard's contracts were coming up and he'd want to do some of those. Multiple people said they shouldn't be a thought. Go all in on guys like DK Metcalf, Myles Garrett (who ended up not available), D.J. Reed, Milton Williams, Jevon Holland, etc. and worry about those guys later. While I knew that wasn't realistic or what I'd do, even I didn't see us retaining 4 of that 5 and maybe all 5 when it's all said and done. To me, guys like Rousseau and Bernard could have been upgraded from or replaced with Draft Picks. Long story short, it feels like far too often Beane is focusing on retaining good to pretty good players at the cost of going out and getting great players.
  12. Ghost's new single. If you're into Rock from a bygone era (specifically 80's) and you've never heard them before - give it a listen. The verse is a little too grindy for my general taste. But the hook is so catchy. It's really growing on me and I think it's his best song in years.
  13. My dude - you're nuts if you think people just like Dion for his personality. He was one of the best LT's in the game last season. He was constantly earning praise from analysts and former OL all year. We had the best Offensive Line we had in years last year. And a large part of that was the play of Dawkins and Brown. A succession plan isn't even a thought in anyone's mind right now. Especially Beane's. And I'm simply baffled by you trash talking either after last year. And OT's play 100% of the snaps or damn close to it. It isn't a position you "rotate" like DL. You want to Draft competition or an upgrade from the Backups of Ryan Van Demark and Tyson Grable? That's fine. But you don't spend a premium pick on a Backup OT. Especially with the amount of holes we have on this team right now. As for the CB statement - players bust. It happens. Just because Kaiir Elam was a bust doesn't mean every CB Drafted in Round 1 is going to be Kaiir Elam. It's really flawed thinking to think that way. I'm not saying you pigeon hole a CB in Round 1 if the value isn't there. But we're not in a position to wait until Round 5 to take one. It would be absolute malpractice to have 4 2nd Round Picks and not take a CB with any of them. Going into next season with Dane Jackson or a 5th Rounder as a Starter opposite Benford would have opposing QB's licking their chops. Btw - we've only Drafted a CB twice in Round 1. The other time? Tre'Davious White. So your "definition of insanity"... doesn't even track.
  14. Great Offensive Tackles can play late into their 30's. Jason Peters was starting at LT when he was damn near 40. Dion Dawkins is under contract until 2028. Spencer Brown is under contract until 2029. Both are coming off perhaps the best seasons of their careers. They're playing at an incredibly high level. It's an absolutely insane notion to look at the play of our Tackles last season and think we need a succession plan in place. You don't spend a pick on an OT that high to be a Backup for what is most likely the entirety of their Rookie contract. It's even crazier to look at Spencer Brown's play over the last two years and go "yeah but he didn't look great his first two seasons".
  15. Not your Draft. That was awful. Even without you spending a 2nd on an Undraftable Player who's been criminally charged with Sexual Assault with an affidavit released to the public that shows an open and shut case. Why would we spend a 2nd on an OT with Dawkins and Brown locked up for years, still young, and each playing at a very high level? You want to roll out Dane Jackson or a 5th Rounder (at best) as our starting CB opposite Benford?
  16. I thought this was pretty cool. Using Josh Allen's inspirational story as an example for perseverance and self improvement.
  17. I'd prefer a 1T, a CB, and a WR with those first 3 picks. But as long as they get a 1T and a CB with 2 of the first 3 - I'm flexible with the other pick.
  18. This is no one. Just your average follow for follow (and a pretty poor one at that if he follows 5k and has 2k followers) wannabe "source". He knows nothing. Just another Twitter handle that throws things on the wall and hopes something coincidentally happens so he can be "validated".
  19. Yes, I did say you were right - didn't I? When it comes to this kind of charge though, it's highly unlikely the Police see enough to pursue a warrant and a Judge signs off on it and the DA doesn't go forward. Especially since the cops met her at the hospital where she was being checked. They have messages from him apologizing for what he did, saying "alcohol makes me do things", messages of him asking her to sign an NDA and offering her money that she refused. No way it doesn't go forward. Usually, an allegation comes out, it's investigated and then it's announced there will be no criminal charges. It's clear the Police investigated, pursued a warrant, and charged him. That wouldn't happen without evidence - that they have. That makes this a much bigger deal than even Araiza's was. And we all know how that went. Even after being released, not a single team in the league would touch him until there was no doubt that he wouldn't be arrested for that kind of charge. That's already happened for Bond.
  20. You missed Shavon Revel Jr. He hasn't been taken and he'd be the top CB available right now. It would be him or Grant as the Top 2 options, imo.
  21. If there's a warrant out for you and you've needed to post bond - you've been charged. Though you're right, a DA could step in and not pursue the charges. But if he turned himself in, that means they investigated and saw enough there to arrest him and charge him. Cops aren't going to go through the process of going to a Judge for a warrant and the Judge isn't going to sign off on the warrant unless there's evidence. Either way, as opposed to most allegations that you see with athletes - this one is a criminal charge by Police.
  22. Do they? When was the last time someone came into the Draft officially criminally charged with Rape? Again, we're not talking an allegation. We're talking about someone who was investigated and the DA proceeded with charges. I would be floored if anyone Drafted him.
  23. I don't see that being a thought for a Bills pick. Again, for the past 4 years - we've averaged at the 28th pick. I don't see a team looking at our future 1st and going "maybe it turns into a Top 5 - we'll give them full value for that pick next year". Like Weather said, the closest we have to compare it to is the Julio trade from 27 to 6. That was two 1st's, a 2nd, and 2 4th's. This is 30 to 4. Which, again, is a differential of a Bottom 2nd/Top 3rd on top of that. 2 1st's, 2 2nds isn't enough.
  24. It was 2 1st's, a 2nd, and 2 4ths. And that was 27 to 6. This is 30 to 4. Which using the Jimmy Johnson model OP is using (which is antiquated btw) would be an additional 260 points. Which equates to a bottom 2nd/top 3rd on top of that package. And Julio Jones is pretty much the *only* example. Everyone brings it up every year as if it's the norm. That was about a decade and a half ago. This is even more than that. Would be unprecedented in the modern era. People almost never move down the board that much. We'd really have to make it worth their wile.
  25. I see the comparison you're making. But that's 2 late 1st's and a top 2nd. That's not getting you in the Top 4 from 30 to get Hunter. The trade proposal you're quoting is also flawed in that he's overvaluing the 2026 1st. As rough as that proposal looks - it's still not enough.
