  1. Thank you for this. I'm not trying to bend over backwards to defend Beane. And maybe this comes across that way (though not my intention), but the reports were: 1.) We were the highest bidder. 2.) The Jets and Dolphins didn't want to trade to us. 3.) The high offer was a 1st in 2027. 4.) The Dolphins price to move him was at least a 2026 1st, no one offered that, so he wasn't traded. I know this will prob make people roll their eyes, but it was never said that the Dolphins made it clear to Beane that they *would* trade him to us if we offered them a 1st in 2026 instead and that Beane made the conscious decision not to do that. It's altogether possible that we made the offer, were told to go F ourselves bc we were in the division, and that was that. That the wanting a 1st in 2026 was a separate point in generally explaining no one met that and thus he wasn't moved. Especially since it flies in the face of the initial report of them not wanting to help us. If it was our decision to turn down a 1st in 2026 - then they *were* willing to help us and that doesn't make sense. Again, not trying to bend over backwards to defend him (as I'm as annoyed by our core as anyone). But it feels like people are jumping to a conclusion that may be inaccurate.
  2. You were exempt from having to do Hard Knocks if you were a team that made the Playoffs, up until a couple years ago. Which means the vast majority of Hard Knocks teams were trash to begin with. Not surprising that they didn't perform well. There's no "curse".
  3. Shavers is a decent blocker and ST's player. But he's simply not an NFL level WR. Period. I know that particular play was more on the throw Josh wasn't able to step into. But Shavers rep is less than, as you pointed out. And that's a pretty regular thing. He's a guy who looks decent against other Practice Squad players and against DB's who are going to end up on the street in a week during the Pre-Season. But he really has no business getting reps on Offense when the real bullets are flying. And sadly, most of the guys above him are only marginally better than that.
  4. I think that's wishful thinking. They can't provide less than 2/3 of Samuel, Shavers, and Moore (who they'll be replacing). But we had Palmer in this lineup and still had issues getting open. If we still had Kincaid on the field and added Palmer and Davis, i'd feel like that's a better situation. Still wasn't going to light the world on fire or have a "Hoecht like effect" on the Offense. But we'd be able to do more and possibly move from a passing game akin to eating out of a dumpster to getting fast food. But Palmer and Davis minus Kincaid? I think we're pretty much back to square one. Would love to be wrong, but Kincaid was our top passing option and the only guy who could get open with any sort of small consistency.
  5. In 2017, ending the a Playoff Drought was a victory. In 2020, winning the division and winning a playoff game was a victory. Even last year, making it to the AFC Championship was a victory. But after all of the Division wins, all of the Playoff wins - winning the Division and even making it to the Championship is no longer a victory. That's the floor. Anything less than an AFC Championship is a disappointment. Not only are we looking at a roster where that seems *incredibly* unlikely - we're 2.5 games below the Patriots on the Division and we're dropping to teams like the friggin' Falcons and Dolphins. That's a major regression. Being unhappy about that isn't being "spoiled". The year is 2025. 2018 expectations no longer apply.
  6. We have losses to the Falcons and Dolphins. With the makeup of this roster and the one dimensional facet of this Offense - there isn't a single game you can say we're likely to win or lose. If a team (any team) gets up on us early and/or are able to stop Cook, we are unable to do anything about it. We are not built to pass when we need it.
  7. Davis and Palmer are definitive upgrades over pretty much all of our WR's. Which goes to show how poorly built this core is. The problem now is that we needed them plus Kincaid, our clear top option downfield. But he's now down with a hamstring. So even when we get those guys in - it's one step forward, one step back.
  8. For this year? Yes. We might string together enough wins to slide into a Wild Card spot. But this is not a Super Bowl built roster. It's as simple as that. Great QB, great RB, pretty good Offensive Line. But when you have subpar pass catchers - all that gets cancelled out. We're one dimensional. If the running game isn't cooking (which is hard to do bc they know we're one dimensional) and/or we're playing from behind - it's over. It doesn't matter if we're playing the 2-7 Miami Dolphins or the 3-6 Atlanta Falcons, if we're not off to a fast start with the running game scoring, it's doneso. Cannot expect to win a Championship that way.
  9. People need to stop with takes like this or ones that say it's just bc our running game is so good, we just don't have to pass. There's been enough evidence to show that if our running game isn't lighting the world on fire and/or we fall behind and need to pass - we simply can't do it. *Everything* is a struggle. We are constantly calling line of scrimmage WR screens out of necessity bc guys just can't create any kind of separation. Josh has to put the world on his shoulders and run around for 10+ seconds hoping someone will sneak free somewhere. We've had some lackluster cores over the past few years. But this is the worst collection we've had since before we traded for Diggs.
  10. Did he say this on TV or something? Not saying it isn't true. But he didn't put this in his tweet (which is all I've seen from him on this subject) and thus far this betting account is the only place alleging he said this.
  11. Bernard's level of play last season was at a replaceable level. He's even worse this year. It's absolutely maddening to me they jumped at an extension for him.
  12. Cook's been great with not coughing it up given the amount of carries he has. Of course when he does do it, it's at the worst time.
  13. I heard we're a "sneaky Elite offense* and our passing woes are just because we don't need to do it...
  14. Exactly where we don't want to be. We don't have the kind of passing offense to play from behind.
  15. If it's such a nothing stat - than why isn't there more coaches in the modern era who can make the claim? I get having issues with McDermott as a coach. But complaining that Mike Florio is reporting on a stat that puts him in rare air is kind of ridiculous. As is the idea that the Bills PR team is "working overtime" for this article. I highly doubt this is information that needed to be fed to Florio. This is the kind of stuff he reports on the daily.
  16. I wasn't high on Coleman going into the Draft and I'm not high on him now. But this idea that Coleman was over drafted and would have free falled if we didn't take him is overblown and inaccurate. He went exactly in the area he was expected to go. Had we not taken him, the Patriots would have selected him 4 picks later - if no one jumped ahead of them. In that spot, they Drafted Ja'Lynn Polk who was *truly* overdrafted. He was expected to be a 3rd to 4th Round selection. They reached for Polk there bc he was the next best Outside WR (who didn't have red flags) on the board and bc they missed out on Coleman (who they were high on).
  17. And I think *this* is missing the point of what a lot of people are making. Moulds was a 4.5 40 guy at the Combine who was deceptively fast. He was built like a Greek God and had a WR frame while Coleman's body is more like a Basketball player. He was physically dominant against Corners - both at the line and at the point of attack. The reason people make the comparisons are to show that Moulds' issues were things that could be overcome because he was physically gifted and very athletic. He just needed to lock in mentally and get past the yips of drops. Coleman's main issues aren't fixable things. He'll always be a 4.61 guy who somehow plays even slower than that. He could put on muscle, but he'll still have a lanky frame and that mass would just result in him being even slower. He is physically limited. And that's the point of the comparison. Saying Moulds overcame a slow start so Coleman could too is like saying Josh Allen overcame his issues so Will Levis could too. There's physical gifts that Moulds had that made that possible that Coleman simply doesn't.
  18. This doesn't remotely fit Coleman. Heading into the Draft, almost no one here liked him as a prospect and even less wanted him to be our pick. After he was Drafted, we all had hopes that he'd succeed - as we do with all Draft Picks. But there was no hype from the fanbase over him. Just hopes that were pretty quickly dashed.
  19. Nope. He was the 8th WR off the board. Marvin Harrison Jr. (4th to Arizona), Malik Nabers (6th to New York Giants), Rome Odunze (9th to Chicago), Brian Thomas Jr. (23rd to Jacksonville), Xavier Worthy (28th to Kansas City), Ricky Pearsall (31st to San Francisco), and Xavier Legette (32nd to Carolina) all went before him.
  20. No, he was a 4.5 guy. I remember obsessing over the Pre-Draft stuff on him and Marvin Harrison in 1996, knowing one of them was likely to be ours. He made the most of his 4.5 and was a guy that looked quicker than his timed speed, especially when he'd get in the open field. Unlike Coleman who somehow looks slower than his 4.61.
  21. There is truth to this. He sucks. But options like Xavier Worthy, Xavier Legette, Adonai Mitchell, and Ja'Lynn Polk aren't much better. Guys like Ricky Pearsall and Ladd McConkey were Slots that we didn't need. Even Troy Franklin - who knows if he would have developed the same way had he not been Drafted alongside his College QB that he had built in chemistry with. The truth is that it was considered an all-time WR class because of MHJ, Nabers, Odunze at the top and BTJ just under them. If you weren't in a position to grab one of them or didn't need a Slot, you weren't in as good of a spot as thought of Pre-Draft. If I was going to crucify Beane for anything, it would be not only not doing but not even attempting to move up 6 spots to try and secure BTJ.
  22. While I agree that Josh was able to do something that you don't generally see, I don't think it's a comparable situation. He had an Elite bag of tools to work with. Keon is physically limited. There's nothing that can be done about his speed (or lack thereof) or his body type. Even if he became bigger and stronger, it would just serve to make him even slower.
  23. Travis Henry says "step your game up!"
  24. No one's saying he didn't. That's not the point though. You're simply comparing catch and yardage stats. You're ignoring that he wasn't on the field on Offense anywhere remotely close to as much as Coleman has been. Moulds wasn't a starter. He was behind Reed and Early. He was more KR than WR during that time. Coleman has been WR1 in the X from the jump.
