  1. I'll expand on what I just said in another thread, but maybe instead of getting fired the Pegula's and McDummy agree to a mutual separation (i.e. resigning) in which he can still collect some money but not the full remainder of his contract. Obviously we don't know the specifics of the contract extension he just signed but maybe there's an out in there for both sides and would look better on paper for McD similar to the whole sham with Frazier deciding to 'take a year off'.
  2. One thing I've been pondering regarding McDummy and the contract extension situation, perhaps an agreement is worked with the Pegulas and instead of getting fired and having to be on the hook to pay him the remaining years left he simply 'resigns' instead knowing he'd be under ridiculous pressure in 2024 to produce and a true lame duck and still able to collect some money. Probably best case scenario at this point.
  3. Any chance the Bills had at the playoffs hinged on winning yesterday for a number of reasons, including the fact they have zero chance of winning at KC in December when they come out of their bye week. And at this point this type of epic meltdown and loss heading into the bye week could lead to this team flat out quitting on McDummy the rest of the way especially with said game coming right of the gate.
  4. I brought up McVay before and other had similar sentiments, but at the end of the day these dudes have massive egos and if it was a truly viable scenario there's no way he's passing up the opportunity to coach a team with the best QB he's ever had in Josh Allen. This is has also been my argument that if/when Terry Pegula does dump McDummy...you'll see every big name out there lining up and begging for an interview in Buffalo because of Josh Allen. Ben Johnson is another name tossed around and remember he said no to the Carolina Panthers last year. If Buffalo comes calling not only is he saying yes but probably not bothering to interview with any other team.
  5. Nothing. It's the same tired story with this team and it's 'defensive guru' head coach. Yet another reason Terry Pegula has to ask himself why I'm keeping this guy around when defense has always been the problem and a bigger problem than ever this year? And for the minority that insists that everything would be magically different with Milano/White/Jones/etc....no it wouldn't, in fact those same players have been invisible and/or useless in similar big moments throughout the years especially on the road in similar games.
  6. This ST as a whole is trash but I've heard local media saying McDummy won't fire Smiley because he's a US military veteran. Aside from the that, Bass isn't a guy that can obviously be trusted anymore and after he missed that kick in the 3rd quarter when it would have been a 20-7 lead that was the exact point of the game in which everything turned in the Eagles favor.
  7. This is it...money talks, and why Pegulas need to be willing to swallow the stupid contract extension and dump McD because if not they'll likely see a big dip in ticket/merchandise sales if they allow this moron to come back in a true 'lame duck' year in 2024 where he likely gets fired by midseason anyway. Add to the fact this team is facing a critical roster reset/mini rebuild in the offseason and it's all the more reason to take some lumps with a new head coach and offensive/defensive schemes next year if necessary.
  8. I think at this point If the horrendous officiating continues the NFL is going to be forced to allow reviews after questionable plays even if it extends games way too long. I'm not blaming yesterdays loss on that but it was blatantly one sided and despite that Josh Allen still led this team to what should have been another huge win in recent years if not for the clown on the sidelines.
  9. Going back to the previous drama.....I think Diggs has mentally checked out and quit on this coach. Or he certainly will after yesterday, so only thing you can hope for is this team of sentiment spreads to the rest of the lockerroom if you want real change in the offseason.
  10. As I've said in recent weeks, if you expect to lose and hope for the best these type of trainwrecks are easier to deal with. Not even interested in doing a rewatch and analysis at this point either. I picked the Bills to win this week and it should have happened with a competent head coach. Another legendary performance and NFL game of the year that this team is once again on the losing end of. People keep saying there's no way that Terry Pegula will fire McDummy but I'm still not sure that's going to be the case especially once the obvious reality sits in at the end of the year and this team isn't playing postseason football.
  11. I mean at this point hindsight is 20/20 on a weekly basis with this guy, in fact it's been going his entire career as head coach here.
  12. Final 3 weeks of season will tell us exactly who the Dolphins are really are especially if Bills are also still over .500 and in playoff picture when they meet in season finale. But it's fair to have doubts since they have only beat up teams that are .500 or under when they've played them. Talent is there regardless but a 2nd straight late season collapse in south beach could loom large if Bills do their part are final game means something for one or both teams.
  13. I'm really starting to think the Jets wouldn't be much better right now even if Rogers never got hurt and there are still lingering question about him being finished last year in Green Bay as an elite NFL starting QB. Yes the jets defense was pretty elite up until the last few weeks when they finally seemed to have caved under the pressure of carrying the team, but that offensive line and skill position group is pretty terrible. Won't be surprised if they don't win another game the rest of the way especially if the defense stops giving max effort knowing they are completely helpless.
  14. Allen is also 20-3 as a starter in Nov/Dec games since 2020 which is 2nd best behind the guy with multiple rings in KC. Pretty sure all 3 of those losses came in 2021 as well.
  15. It's too bad the Jets didn't show up today but rooting for trash teams to upset superbowl contenders late in the season never works out well. Honestly should have kept Zach Wilson in there on a short week and they probably have a marginally better chance anyway. Big blow for the Dolphins likely losing Jaelen Phillips for the season though, but they still have a clear path to division title and control their own destiny as long as they win out leading up to Bills game because then it wouldn't even matter if they got swept because Bills wouldn't be able to catch them in W/L column.
  16. Even if you assume the answer is yes to this question about JA17 reaching his ceiling, he's shown he can be a franchise QB and top 10 NFL QB in most cases. I think the concern is always going to lie with the turnovers (which seem to come in bunches) and something you have to live with so to speak going forward through the duration of his career in Buffalo.
  17. If the Jets can pull off the upset here it makes the Bills game on Sunday that much more important. In fact by the time the game kicks off a lot of favorable results could already be known (i.e. Jags over Texans, Bengals over Steelers, etc).
  18. Bills 33 Eagles 21 I'll probably regret this optimism but the bottom line it's time for this team to be relevant and to McD's credit he's always seemed to win one big road game every year including at Arrowhead the previous 2 years. Last week will either be looked back at the beginning of historic run or blip in the radar of a lost season. Caveat of course is the Bills likely need to win by 2+ scores given their track record this year, also will be bucking a troubling trend of being horrendous on the road this year.
  19. For me it's still about long term success with all these guys. We've seen a lot of flash in the pan types come through Buffalo over the years, not just with this regime either. And in the case of AJE, unfortunately he's playing his way out of Buffalo the more he produces this year which sucks since this team is stuck with Miller. Early returns on this year's draft though do indicate it might be Beanes best one if you take Allen/2018 out of the equation.
  20. I'm still leaning this way even though the Bills road record this year has been horrendous but sometimes weird things happen in this league and Eagles are going to be very overconfident heading into this game. Key will be jumping on them early I think which is also going to be against the norm for this Bills team and offense this year. Also I never noticed the follower thing but I don't like the 666 number so will have to start following some other people....
  21. PFF grades can be misleading and it's easy to put this stuff up when it's favorable to a specific team player. I will say this though, it's starting to look like Dodson/Joseph/Douglas is more than a serviceable fix the rest of the season for big holes they are replacing. Still think Douglas is an upgrade over White as well.
  22. Problem is they don't lose much, Eagles are 25-5 the last 2 years including the playoffs. This is why it's going to be a true herculean effort to pull off the upset on Sunday.
  23. At this point you have to assume that Miller isn't going to make any real impact this year, including postseason should bills get there. In fact if I'm McD, I'm almost inclined to sit him this week and give him an extended break during the bye week as a last ditch effort to see if he can bring anything to the table when they head to KC for the stretch run.
  24. Tony Romo was pimping Knox hard during the game on Sunday and mentioning how dangerous he thinks the Bills offense will be when they can get back to 12 personnel as their primary offense when he gets back. Anybody actually agree with this statement or think Brady goes that route??
  25. McD can go from McDummy to McGenius if he finds a way to split these next 2 games, or even wins both. But obviously have my doubts that's going to happen and better chance this team reverts back to what we've seen all year especially on the road where they've been dreadful for the most part minus the WFT game (and offense still wasn't great in that one either).
