  1. Brilliant job Bandit. Thanks for the effort. Very plausable scenario for how the QBs may fall, though there of course others. I hope you're right, at least as far as the Bills are concerned. That would be a very palatable price for Darnold.
  2. Shocking that the President of the organization would have a seat at the table for a discussion about the most important decision the team will have to make. The decision affects the entire organization, including the business side. Of course they will want his input. Beane will make the call.
  3. That might even give Jerry a woody sans Viagra.
  4. Agreed. I would rather see a move for Foles than reach for a guy just because. Pick 22 may be better spent on Foles than mason rudolph, for example.
  5. This kind of things used to be considered campaigning, was forbidden by the terms of service, and enforced. Not sure where we stand any more.
  6. Not surprised on DD. No one was really buying that this resurrection was actually a different person. Slim pickings on the troll front for him. He will no doubt be back with a new persona soon enough.
  7. Nice job by Whaley checking this guy out before he sold the farm for him, no?
  8. Question for the OP: Did it hurt much when the sky fell on your head this afternoon?
  9. Yes, by all means, start more threads with your blinding insights. We await your next exhibition of brilliance.
  10. Can we give back Lamar Jackson?
  11. Lots of reaction for a candidate for punt returner and an occasional fly pattern target. Jeez! 1. It's friggin' March. 2. In what universe did anyone expect the Bills were going to load up this year on top tier WR's in free agency, when right now the QB is AJ McCarron and (hopefully) some unknown at this point rookie? This was not going to be the year the Bills spent what few free agency chips they have on the WR position. It would make no sense to do so. Draft the QB, then build your WR core next year when you have much more cap room and a better idea of exactly what you need. The WRs are going to be Benjamin, Jones, and 3 or 4 utterly forgettable guys out of the 10 or so they will bring to camp including this guy, Streeter, Holmes, a rookie, everyone's favorite preseason superstar, etc. Might as well get used to the idea. We might get lucky with a diamond in the rough or two, and perhaps our WRs will actually look better if AJ can surpass Tyrod's limited QB skills, and our OC can figure out how to call a game.
  12. They can call this the "Scumbag Rule".
  13. The Bills may well have offered something very similar prior to going out and getting Davis. Perhaps not though. He was out of the lineup quite a bit, hence the $4m plus incentives contract. The BIlls have their starting corners. Looking for nickel and depth at this point, and they are not going to pay $4m + for that, in a cap strapped year. Too many other holes. They can probably do better than Johnson, but it would not surprise me if he was back. The will draft one in the first three rounds.
  14. Exactly the childish response I expected to that. Maybe you should have started a new thread.
  15. You apparently have no idea of how much better this board was previously. Sorry, but having to wade through dozens of new threads on the very same topic with everyone's all-important personal take is annoying and counterproductive. 90% of the threads started add no new value. It is out of control. I get your point, but there are two sides to this, and I am clearly on the other. This thread is a perfect example of what I am talking about. There was already a thread started earlier this week on this topic. No need to start a new one because you are either too lazy to read it or too self important to not have your opinion at the top of the page. This behavior used to be enforced, and self policed, and no longer is. Oh, well. Change comes to all things. Does not mean its better.
  16. I think 4 is still in play as well. All this teeth nashing and panic is a bit comical. You know who is not panicking? Beane, bescause he knows the plan and the options and we do not. No one should be surprised the Jets moved up. It could certainly be argued moving up to 3 this early only would have left the option open for the Jets to move to 2. Now the Jets are committed, have no capital left, and the Bills are not. Relax.
  17. In case you did not notice, the entire staff was canned when Whaley was. There might be a few poisitions that were rehired, but the entire management structure is new and they have brought in their own people. There no predictor from past behavior that can be assumed in the current organization.
  18. Penetration has always been Kyle's role. He is not as effective at this consistently as once was for sure, although still effective at times, especially if someone next to him is occupying two blockers. Washington was supposed to be this but has not shown it. I expect the Bills to look for Kyle's replacement in this draft. When Dareus was actually playing well, prior to his big fat contract, he was also able to penetrate as well as tie up blockers. Rare skill set and why he was paid. Unfortunately, he has not been that player since. Fatter, slower, and less motivated year to year. He is no longer that player, and a problem as well, hence his replacement with Star.
  19. Great signing. The Skins were counting on him last year and his loss to injury really hurt their defense. They definitely wanted to keep him.
  20. Have no idea but I expect it will be something similar to Tyrod's last deal - decent but not great money year one, with a raise in year two but an out for the Bills. This is a great fit for McCarron because it gives him an opportunity to start and prove his value. If the Bills move on in Year 2 in, he will get an opportunity to cash in. Opportunity to play is probably his primary motivator at this point. It gives the Bills an option to not start the rookie until he is ready, which hopefully is before year two, but gives them a reasonable chance to be very competitive in the meantime.
  21. This thread is a perfect illustration of why Kaep will never again play in the NFL. Too polarizing. Unfair, but it is what it is.
  22. Agreed. This was not the year to invest big money in the WR position, given the uncertainty at QB and the limited cap space they have. They will be in a much better position to do that next year cap wise, and hopefully with full view of the long term QB.
  23. Exactly. If the Bills made this trade it would not be for a bridge. They would be committed. It is this or try to trade up, not both. I am not in favor of writing in Foles as the Bills QB for the next five years. Wrong answer.
