  1. All true, although I think he did largely work himself out of the aweful start in terms of catching the ball. The problem became getting open. They did him no favors playing him on the outside. Hopefully with the changes being made, and hopefully with a QB who can/will actually throw the ball, playing out of the slot he will develop. It is certainly way too early to give up on him.
  2. It is a two year deal and not big money. He still has great value as a situational player, special teamer, and locker room leader. Not going anywhere.
  3. He has definitely proven his ability to lead a team to a 7/8 win season. Cue the excuses for his lack of leadership and big game/big situation ability. Rather have a rookie than a 29 year old uber expensive average to above average QB who has reached the peak of his abilities. Exactly. Shanahan knows Cousins and rolled their dice with Jimmy. Cousins is good, not great, and will not make the team better around him. Whether he is better than Tyrod, or the other hot garbage we have been rolling out forever, is besides the point. We need to do better than Cousins.
  4. Well, one thing is for sure, and that is the Colts have definitely hired a guy with a an unimpeachable character, unlike the dufus the tried to hire. Well done Colts. You are lucky that McDaniels left you at the alter.
  5. More than likely. Dareus is fat, lazy, and stupid. Not a great combination.
  6. It would be great if this fantasy were true, but it certainly is not. I think SF going for Jimmy rather than waiting for Cousins says all you need to know about what people in the know really think of Cousins, as Shanahan is certainly in the best position to know. Cousins is at his ceiling as an average to slightly above average NFL QB, while Jimmy is only at the beginning and looks much more promising in terms of talent and leadership, and is much younger. No way SF flips these two.
  7. That part is believable. Personally, I hope the rumour to Denver is true. I don't want this guy on the Bills, while I realize this probably puts me in the minority opinion. I would rather see another QB spot open in front of the Bills in the draft.
  8. I think I will ignore this rumor until someone more credible than Cowherd is reporting it. Does not make sense from many perspectives.
  9. This is not only a Bills issue. Young men mature at different rates, and "the baller life" that Williams describes is how many of these players come to the NFL, with their first taste of money. Every team needs to deal with it. The Bills did do something about it - they hired McDermott. If we have learned anything over the past year he is all about having players who do things the right way, take the game seriously, or they will not be here long. Great article - good for Aaron. I think we all saw dramatic improvement in his third year, and although we did not necessarily know why, he was a different player. Now we know. Time will tell with Dareus. He has talked the talk before. My bet is he will still show up for training camp 40 pounds overweight, and he is a 2/1 bet on another drug violation. He will never be the player he once was or could have been.
  10. Cousins represents fools gold. Not worth near what he will command and will strap the Bills flexibility for roster building for years to come. For an Alex Smith level deal, yes, but he is not going to sign for that. Go all in on a top rookie prospect now, and build from there.
  11. Why? Because the Bills DL was so over performing awesome last year we cannot afford to replace the DL coach? Chances are it was not his decision to leave the Bills. Adjustments are being made.
  12. I think they are actually handling this situation quite well, given the circumstances.
  13. He is obviously clueless at best
  14. My guess as well. He was also dinged earlier in the game and stayed in, and one other time during the season. He did not look good after the last one. Could have triggered or led them to find something else. Hope not for his sake.
  15. Yes, but Leroy was a completely different thing. He infrequently posted his inside info, very carefully, and he developed credibility over time. Dufus Don, not so much. Blasted us with BS, claimed credit for being right about things that either happened before he ever posted or just happened because there was a70% chance they would anyway. "Dennison likely to be fired" Oh really? SDS called him out on lies about where he was posting from. On and on. He is an idiot who seems to have thankfully gone away. There is a zero percent chance he was posting "inside information".
  16. Thanks for this thread. Bottom line: Marrone and Hacket. What happened in the second half was totally predictable.
  17. I have seen a lot of really rediculous takes on this board over the years, but this is one for the books.
  18. If Rudolf is available at 21 I would certainly take him. I think he will probably be gone by then though. If Mayfield falls far enough that The Bills could move to get him without giving up both first rounders, that would be my preference.
  19. Your belief that the Bills should have kept Woods ignores the fact that over half the roster were free agents, with minimal cap space available. Woods was never going to get the going market rate from the Bills, regardless of whether he would have been better than Jones last year. Also ignore the likelihood that Woods wanted no part of staying in Buffalo which had failed for 4 years to put him in a position to achieve his potential. TT again? He would have been running away from that as fast as he could.
  20. Well, if Bleecher Report said so, it must be true. I have been a big Tyrod fan, even recognizing his limitations, but I am done. What he does well is simply not worth what he is, and always will be, bad at. Time to move on.
  21. He obviously hurt his hand patting himself on the back.
  22. That was great ,Yolo. Thanks. Needed the laugh.
  23. I think the real question here is who determined that the outside zone blocking scheme was the right approach? This seems to me to be more of an offensive system decision (Dennison) vs an OL coach decision. To be a little contrary here, both Ducasse and Mills showed improvement over the course of the year. (And I am not suggesting we can't do better, just that perhaps their coaching was effective) can Castillo coach a primarily power run scheme? I have no idea but I suspect so.
