  1. Apparently not to find a starting quality backup middle linebacker. There must be 31 other teams with one of those.
  2. I can't believe I actually just saw that. Way to play to lose.
  3. Some things, and people, never change. I suspect the Pats will try to squeeze as much out of him as they can this year and then move on.
  4. That would certainly be the pattern. They seem to have some good talent stockpiled. It would actually be a shame to see it wasted. (sort of )
  5. Does Dunkirk Don have a new twitter account?
  6. Jackson should have been fired after last season and that idiot Haley should never have been hired. They were simply making the damage worse by letting them stick around week by week. The owner should get out of the way and let Dorsey run it, and perhaps this is a sign of that happening.
  7. Wow Gug - 2 injury conspiracy threads in 3 weeks. You are on a roll. ?
  8. This is good news. The kid is talented and needs time to develop. This is where he belongs for now. I am glad they were able to keep him around.
  9. I already explained my logic in a previous post, but in the real world, QB production is ultimately gauged by wins and losses. He lost last night, as he a,ways does. His team scored 6 points in the second half. That's is not good production. He is a semi- adequate backup at this point. Yes, I wish he was our backup because I certainly think he is better than Peterman. Your conclusions in comparing him to Allen are faulty.
  10. Win/loss is too subjective a stat, but the crap you are relying on is not? Do you even hear yourself? Your arguement is foolishness.
  11. Not to worry - I am sure he is fabulous shape after sitting on his couch all year, has used his superior experience to mind meld with the playbook, and does not even need any practice to get in synch with the team. Should go very well. Should have just cut Peterman to satisfy the mob and signed another guy off the street to be the backup QB while they were at it. What incompetence.
  12. What I heard him say during his WGR interview last week, in response to a question from John Murphy about why he did not sign with anyone during free agency, he said that he had a number of calls but "nothing felt right". When asked if the Bills were one of those teams that called, he said "maybe" and chuckled. Could have been money, could have been the situations he was being asked to join, could be he was not sure he wanted to play. Obviously they were persistent. He may well have been their top target all along.
  13. The situations are so completely different that your comparison makes absolutely no sense. But here are a few additional facts for you: - CJ Beathard is 1/8 in games he has started, including 1/5 last year and 0/3 this year. Funny how they win with Garrappolo and not Beathard. - His completion % last year was 54.9% with 4 TDs and 6 INTs; sounds like a bit of a rough start, no? - His numbers are better this year - 6TDs and 5 INTs and completion % of 64%. Gee, maybe a full year in the league helped him some. Maybe his WRs are too for that matter. Still, that TD/INT ration is going to lead to losses. - Still can't win, but does throw for yards, which is of course is the most important thing in evaluating young QBs. - CJ Beathard is on his way to hitting his ceiling as a decent career backup, although he is not there yet. Stats can tell any story you want to make up to fit the stats. Your comparison is BS, because the situations and players are not comparable. Next year, maybe.
  14. Well, he would not be wrong. They are. He is usually very patient with the idiocy. I am sure it has been a bad day at OBD.
  15. Allen is going to play if he is healthy and I thought McD was pretty clear about it. Spoke about how disappointing it was that Josh could not finish the game because it would have been a great learning experience. This does not sound like a coach who is thinking of pulling him for any reason.
  16. What exactly do you expect him to say? "Yeah, your right, he sucks, and he never getting in a game again" He is never going to say that, even if they do end up cutting him. If Allen cannot play this week, Peterman will certainly be dressed, and may have to start, if Anderson is not yet ready.
  17. You are not going to find anyone to come in mid-year and there is no way you changing basic systems. The theory would be to shake it up, get a different voice on that side of the ball, perhaps modify the offensive play calling more to the HC's liking - lots of reasons. It would fall to someone on the staff. My guess would be Robiskie. As I said, I am not predicting this or advocating - it just would not shock me.
  18. Daboll may not survive the week. I think it is unlikley McD will fire him, but it would not shock me. This move has been coming in Tampa for a couple of weeks - highly speculated.
  19. On that clip, it does not look as though he had that much of a grasp on him actually. Sounds like more of an excuse for missing the play. He is probably embarrassed. Hughes definitely had Mariotta in the grasp and let him go.
  20. Following Allen's development is pretty much the only reason to watch.
  21. It is quite a bit early to put him in the hall of fame, even a discussion. As far as the comparison to Owens, he is not as accomplished as yet and is an even bigger turd. Not worth the headache and cost in my opinion.
