Not to worry - I am sure he is fabulous shape after sitting on his couch all year, has used his superior experience to mind meld with the playbook, and does not even need any practice to get in synch with the team. Should go very well. Should have just cut Peterman to satisfy the mob and signed another guy off the street to be the backup QB while they were at it. What incompetence.

What I heard him say during his WGR interview last week, in response to a question from John Murphy about why he did not sign with anyone during free agency, he said that he had a number of calls but "nothing felt right". When asked if the Bills were one of those teams that called, he said "maybe" and chuckled. Could have been money, could have been the situations he was being asked to join, could be he was not sure he wanted to play. Obviously they were persistent. He may well have been their top target all along.

The situations are so completely different that your comparison makes absolutely no sense. But here are a few additional facts for you: - CJ Beathard is 1/8 in games he has started, including 1/5 last year and 0/3 this year. Funny how they win with Garrappolo and not Beathard. - His completion % last year was 54.9% with 4 TDs and 6 INTs; sounds like a bit of a rough start, no? - His numbers are better this year - 6TDs and 5 INTs and completion % of 64%. Gee, maybe a full year in the league helped him some. Maybe his WRs are too for that matter. Still, that TD/INT ration is going to lead to losses. - Still can't win, but does throw for yards, which is of course is the most important thing in evaluating young QBs. - CJ Beathard is on his way to hitting his ceiling as a decent career backup, although he is not there yet. Stats can tell any story you want to make up to fit the stats. Your comparison is BS, because the situations and players are not comparable. Next year, maybe.

McDermott hangs up on Schopp and Bulldog

Well, he would not be wrong. They are. He is usually very patient with the idiocy. I am sure it has been a bad day at OBD. -
You are not going to find anyone to come in mid-year and there is no way you changing basic systems. The theory would be to shake it up, get a different voice on that side of the ball, perhaps modify the offensive play calling more to the HC's liking - lots of reasons. It would fall to someone on the staff. My guess would be Robiskie. As I said, I am not predicting this or advocating - it just would not shock me.

Daboll may not survive the week. I think it is unlikley McD will fire him, but it would not shock me. This move has been coming in Tampa for a couple of weeks - highly speculated.

The QB Hit rule strikes again (or so he claims)
FLFan replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On that clip, it does not look as though he had that much of a grasp on him actually. Sounds like more of an excuse for missing the play. He is probably embarrassed. Hughes definitely had Mariotta in the grasp and let him go. -
It is quite a bit early to put him in the hall of fame, even a discussion. As far as the comparison to Owens, he is not as accomplished as yet and is an even bigger turd. Not worth the headache and cost in my opinion.

My personal vow regarding Josh Allen: Who is with me

Agreed. Everyone should have known this was going to be a frustrating year. No point in getting too high or too low about his or the team's performance any given week. We will know more by the end of the year, and there will hopefully be some entertaining football in the interim. -
Andy Benoit: How Do the Bills Keep Pulling Off Upsets?
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Generally fair article although I am growing tired of the "least talented team in the NFL" narrative. I do not like these casual generalizations in any arguement and it cheapens his analysis in my opinion. This is clearly not the case on defense, and while a valid argument might be made on offense especially given results, they do have some talent. The problem is the talent at QB is raw and undeveloped and he lacks any consistent playmakers other than Shady. While we all see the problems with the OL, it does not grade out from those that do this as the worst in the league, especially across the board. That is non-sense. (Link to Football Outsiders as of 10/2: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol ) (We are the worst in the league as far as sacks allowed goes, but I think most here realize that Allen bears a fair bit of responsibility for that) RB position is good, and I would argue the tight end group is serviceable if not spectacular. The WR group is an abortion. Jones may one day be a decent slot receiver option if there are other playmakers around him taking attention, but he is not going to be a difference maker in this current team makeup. The rest - yuck. All that said, I agree with his assessment that McD has an ability to get the most out of what he has despite the holes. He gets players to buy in and believe in themselves, and believe in a team concept. If he can maintain this while they continue to build the talent level, we may well have something here. -
I thought Star was outstanding yesterday. Definitely doing his job, although the stat sheet will show he was in on one tackle I believe.

Did not know that. Thanks. I will try it today. I dropped Sunday Ticket this year and only have Game Pass so I may try to listen while I float in my pool today. -

You cannot stream WGR coverage of the game. The NFL does not allow out of market streaming of the games. You can buy radio coverage from the NFL of course. WGR will go silent on their stream about 12:55 -
Based on what? Some idiotic Internet ranking? Last year he was a coach of the year candidate. Hopefully Bills ownership is a bit more savvy than to place any stock in the opinions of random internet bloggers or fickle fans. Exactly. Moronic.
