  1. We live in a star f...... world. In virtually any walk of life, certainly the NFL, the masses respond to star power, as do lazy writers. They got Antonio Brown, therefore, they are greatly improved. Maybe. We will see.
  2. Thanks for posting, Chandler! I agree with you - that was a formidable team. Great defense. I was at the game (yes I am old, but only 8 at the time). It forever solidified my love of the Bills.
  3. You are right - way too early. We do not know what any of these teams are likely to be, including the Bills. That said, I would be disappointed with less than 10 wins. 8 at the bottom, 12 at the top, depending on the breaks.
  4. I would be shocked if the Bills do not draft an OT in the first three rounds at least, quite possibly the second. They need long term OL solutions and the guys signed so far are short term answers, even though upgrades. Draft and develop should be, and I believe is, the long term plan.
  5. Yes, the drought was sole draining, but I have heard many people around here describe Bills teams during that time, including last year, in ways that would indicate some horror show. My response - not even close. The only team I have seen perform worse over the last 30 years is the Browns under Hue Jackson. Talk about sole draining. ?
  6. Absolutely. People that do not remember those days have no idea what a bad team really looks like. I had seasons as well. It was light years worse than the worst teams of the drought era.
  7. Considering how poor the Bills ST were last year, I would not hang my hat on ST contributions. I have never found him to be a particularly useful FB and that does not seem to be an offense that Dabol wants to feature. That said, he has been valuable as a locker room guy I suppose, but I certainly hope that the Bills find a way to move on from him this year with a more productive and versatile player, Fisher or someone else.
  8. I am guessing the role they have in mind for Fisher is HBack to some degree at least. Theoretically, assuming he can play, he can offer blocking on running or passing plays from the backfield, and be capable of being an outlet on the pass, even spreading out to offer a different pressure on the defense. The Bills rarely used the fullback formation last year, and DiMarco is very limited - poor runner and receiver. Who knows if he will actually win the job, but I would think it is either him or DiMarco.
  9. Yes, we need depth, but not in the first round. There are more impactful players available at more pressing areas of need like OL, DL, and TE.
  10. There are very good reasons. The Bills have three LBs on the field a fairy small percentage of the time. Milano is a stud, and so is Edmunds. There is no reason to spend a high draft choice on another MLB. The need better depth, and an eventual replacement for Lorenzo, but not in the first round, certainly not this year. There is zero chance this coaching staff moves on from Edmunds at MLB this year. Edmunds struggles at times with reads but came on very strong in that regard later the year. He had a very good season, for any player, much less a 20 year old rookie.
  11. Well, Allen actually had a much better rookie year than Mahomes since he did not even play until the final week. I am quite sure the red shirt year helped Mahomes who was not really NFL ready either. I am not saying Allen will make the same type of jump, but there are in fact many similarities in their game in spite of the snark employed in the articles quoted. Hopefully he can realize that potential with an upgraded supporting cast.
  12. Obviously, he does not know as much as message board posters.
  13. That one gave me a chuckle as well.
  14. I thought life was a carnival?
  15. Facts are you friend. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/player-stat/receiving-yards-per-catch Brown average per coach is higher than Williams, who despite your opinion has proved nothing to date. Also, by the way, Foster had a yards per catch of 20, but does not make this list because he only had 27 receptions. (Threshold is 30). The Bills have 2 legitimate deep threats. No thanks on Jared Cook. He is still sitting around for a reason.
  16. Wow. A receiver who actually gets himself open and then catches the ball. What a radical concept.
  17. Zingy Ansah is visiting the Bills tomorrow. Signing him would take pretty big bucks I think.
  18. Teams began focusing on covering Foster after his breakout forcing Allen to look for Jones, but unfortunately, Jones rarely gets himself open, and is not strong on contested catches. Brown will be a much better complement with his speed. He will put more pressure on defenses than Jones can. Could really open things up.
  19. Excellent first day in my mind. Center was the number 1 priority for this team in FA and they got their man. This will make a huge difference on offense. Kroft is certainly not a game breaker, but the Bills were horrific at blocking at TE and he is a major upgrade there. Still room for a draft choice at that position, but Kroft makes them better. The Bills were very thin at CB so adding Johnson makes sense and is a good gamble. Very solid when healthy. Gore is an upgrade over Ivory. Williams at RT and/or a quality guard like Saffold would be my next priority. I am not enamoured of any of the remaining FA wide receivers in terms of being worth a big contract. Upgrade via draft.
  20. Master of his craft? Seriously? Master at whining, self agrandisement, and greed is more like it. The last year he played he missed time to injury. Chances are exponentially greater now. He is going to get paid and be a footnote. Just my opinion of course, but I do not share your respect for Bell's dedication to craft.
  21. Sure, but my point is, what are the chances of that given his general approach to this whole situation? Buyer beware.
  22. How long has it been since Bell played football? He is a hamstring injury waiting to happen. My prediction is great regret for whoever signs him, for many reasons. Personally, I hope he signs with the Jets.
  23. I went to high school with Fichtner. He actually showed up for the 25 year reunion. Pretty good guy.
