  1. We are a better defense without him. This is objectively true.
  2. Doug Marrone is a terrible coach. Thought that was obvious by now.
  3. This is the kind of hard hitting analysis we have come to expect around this forum lately. Well done.
  4. Is this not really the same post from last week, which I believe was: "If McDermott starts Allen he should be fired" ? Way to mix it up. I think we get your opinion by now. Perhaps you should be fired - from this forum. Where is DC Tom when you need him?
  5. The sudden confidence in Barkley is the same overreaction we have been witnessing here all season, albeit in a different form. Personally, I am not getting too high over what we witnessed yesterday, nor was I getting too low over what we witnessed the previous game. Steady as she goes and eye on the prize. This season is all about getting Josh Allen ready to compete at a high level. He is not going to do that sitting on the bench watching Matt Barkley play, who will return to the mean soon enough. This game was a great boost to the team - a confidence building experience for sure. We knew the defense could dominate. Lets hope yesterday's performance provides some positive lessons and renewed confidence on the offensive side of he ball, but I want to see Allen under center against Jacksonville.
  6. Someone should have given Bell a lesson on the present value of money.
  7. It is not only possible that we surprised a poorly coached team, and that Barkley will regress to back up level, it is a virtual certainty. He has been in this league for six years and has had a few good games. He has also been with six different teams for a reason. He did not suddenly become something he is not after 1 week with the Bills. Allen is the QB of this team and needs to play.
  8. Not even a question. Barkley may have played himself into a backup job, but Allen plays the rest of the way.
  9. Gaines was the weakest link on the defense. He was not brought in to start at outside corner and it showed. Good move.
  10. I suppose it can be debated how you define tanking, but it was obvious when virtually all available resources were spent to build the defense and draft a QB, while virtually nothing was spent on the rest of the offense, that while they were hoping for the best, they were not really planning to win this year. Call it what you will. The hysteria around here is comical.
  11. You nailed it, but when the pitchforks are out this arguement probably will not go far.
  12. I see your point, but do not agree. It seems totally distracting to me in practice and a waste of a valuable resource that could either yield a premium player at a need position, or two or more very good players and potential starters in a trade down scenario. I would not be opposed to the Bills using a later round pick on a promising developmental type to be third string behind (hopefully) a competent veteran to back Allen up. (finally ending the great Peterman experiment)
  13. Then he needs to get all the reps as #1, not some half baked competition. This is the price for drafting a QB. They need the time and the reps, and if it does not work out it sets you back. Giving him half a year this year, with an injury thrown in the middle, and minimum reps during the training camp because of this year's idiotic three way competition, is not going to yield a yes or no answer no matter what happens the rest of this year. The Bills have many other holes to address with a top 5 pick, if that is where they end up. Fix the OL, add some skill position players, and see what he can do with a full year as unquestioned number 1.
  14. Well, at least you gave him a fair chance to develop.
  15. Lets not forget "excape". Whoever had the idea of putting this guy on Monday night broadcasts ought to be fired.
  16. Apparently not to find a starting quality backup middle linebacker. There must be 31 other teams with one of those.
  17. I can't believe I actually just saw that. Way to play to lose.
  18. Some things, and people, never change. I suspect the Pats will try to squeeze as much out of him as they can this year and then move on.
  19. That would certainly be the pattern. They seem to have some good talent stockpiled. It would actually be a shame to see it wasted. (sort of )
  20. Does Dunkirk Don have a new twitter account?
  21. Jackson should have been fired after last season and that idiot Haley should never have been hired. They were simply making the damage worse by letting them stick around week by week. The owner should get out of the way and let Dorsey run it, and perhaps this is a sign of that happening.
  22. Wow Gug - 2 injury conspiracy threads in 3 weeks. You are on a roll. ?
  23. This is good news. The kid is talented and needs time to develop. This is where he belongs for now. I am glad they were able to keep him around.
  24. I already explained my logic in a previous post, but in the real world, QB production is ultimately gauged by wins and losses. He lost last night, as he a,ways does. His team scored 6 points in the second half. That's is not good production. He is a semi- adequate backup at this point. Yes, I wish he was our backup because I certainly think he is better than Peterman. Your conclusions in comparing him to Allen are faulty.
