  1. Well, for many here, he would need to wake up one morning and actually be Patrick Mahomes.
  2. Kent Hull, without question. Second choice, Will Wolford. Hull was not only the best center ever for the Bills, but one of the best ever in the NFL. He was the key to their offense, and any player from that era would say the same. Great O lines start with the center. Great offense start with OL.
  3. These lists are meaningless. When it comes to QB's, I am very happy we do not have Jackson. Time will tell on Darnold. Mayfield looks good. Rosen - meh.
  4. You are certainly not alone in this. It drove me crazy as well.
  5. Peyton Manning forgot more about playing QB than Gase ever knew. Gase had nothing to do with it.
  6. To denote that the fact that *Pats record should come with an asterisk.
  7. I do not care what team he came from as long as he can teach these young guys how to play special teams, and build some pride in the unit. Seems like a good spot for a young, enthusiastic coach with a solid ST performance record of his own.
  8. Sorry, but I just can't help doing the happy dance over the Jets hiring Gase. I never understood the fascination with this guy. I see no way he gets better in the NY pressure cooker. I look for modest improvement by the Jets this year, followed by an inevitable crash.
  9. Anything less than playoffs next year would be severely disappointing. It could certainly happen - key injuries can change the fortunes of any team - but there better be a damn good excuse for this team not improving by 3/4 games next year at least. I am bought into the plan, and was certainly willing to be patient with what was shaping up from the beginning to be a down year this year, but I want to see a step up. The potential is certainly there if McBeane nail this off season in their respective roles. I doubt this is different from most fans perspective.
  10. 4th actually. They throw the ball more to their running backs than they do to Sammy.
  11. You can smell the tires burning in Miami from here .....
  12. Beane said in his end of year presser that they like Shaq's approach to the game this year, his commitment, and his resultant play. He clearly had a turnaround this year. Beane also said they were going to wait and see how his offseason progressed. I suppose he wants to make sure that Shaq can maintain that commitment until making a decision on his future with the Bills, which makes sense. It seems up to Shaq, but I do expect the Bills want to keep him at this point.
  13. In return for the 3 players they have instead? I think that is hardly obvious. I would not.
  14. Watching Williams and Gase together in NY would be worth the price of admission. He will improve their defense, but the dysfunction inherent in this marriage would be fun to watch.
  15. You are a valued contributor so keep 'em coming. Congrats.
  16. Can't argue with his talent evaluation skills though.
  17. He absolutely should have. He should be fired.
  18. I understood your point but this would be an extraordinary waste of resources this year. The QB room is set for next year and we have far greater needs than a developmental QB. I could see it in 2020 when Anderson will likely retire and hopefully the Bills do not have so many open holes.
  19. I do not agree. Like anything that is a skill that can be taught. I simply do not buy the argument that the Bills talent level was so poor that they were worse at this than virtually every other team. You do not need the second coming of Steve Tasker to be at least effective at this element of the game.
  20. ST coaches also get input on what players to keep on the roster based on special teams needs. He is responsible for coaching the players he has. ST was a debacle this year in terms of coverage and return. I do not put the punting issues or late season kicker issue on him, but damn, their coverage and return teams were an adventure all year. Time to go in a new direction.
  21. This has nothing to do with Terry. Both Beane and McDermott were pretty clear that 6-10 was not acceptable and they would look at all avenues to improve the team. Like most Bills fans, they obviously concluded that ST is one of the areas that requires a major improvement.
  22. Agreed. The Bills were top 10 in run defense prior to the NE game, but of course, that counts. Their run defense was much better this year than last.
  23. They have the space to pay McCoy next year. That is not the issue. If they believe he can still be effective, he is a luxury they can certainly afford while they groom a replacement.
  24. Good for him that he has confidence in his abilities, but that fact is he has had two years to crack this roster, not exactly full of potential prow bowl tight ends, and he has not been able to do it. Might be thinking about finishing that degree if I was him.
