Great post Virgil. I felt very much the same about the 4th and 1. I was screaming at the TV at the time, although I do see the logic in it, especially in those conditions. I fully expected a tie after they punted. I agree that the officiating was great. That was a game that could not have been called too closely. Great decision to leave the chains on the sidelines and just give both teams the benefit of the doubt. Great call on the offensives PI. To let the game be decided on that would have been a travesty. i did not expect to enjoy is game but I did. Man on man, old school football.

Great review Shaw - thanks. This was a particularly frustrating game to watch as the Bills defense kept stopping the Pats only to have the offense give it right back. You knew sooner or later they would pull away. The D played well enough to win, no doubt. It would have worked if they had any offense at all. There is no point in playing Tyrod again this year in my opinion. It's too bad the offensive staff cannot figure out how to use his talents but they clearly can't, and Tyrod clearly cannot run the offense they want to run.

Just finished the game and checked this thread, and what a surprise, every other post or more whining about what was not right. The Bills just pulled off a huge upset. For crying out loud learn to enjoy a victory.

Yes, these are facts. I am not sure what they have to do with this year's team - players, coaching staff, and management - but there is no doubt these are facts. I could look up and post and bunch of facts about the New Orleans Saints, for example, demonstrating how awful they have been for the past 5 years, but that would not be a good predictor of the outcome of Sunday's game or their season, just like the above facts have no bearing on the potential results of the Bills. (other than, of course, Bills fans have been long suffering and always expect the worst) I am not blindly optimistic. Like any reasonable person, I see the holes on this team. However, I also see a completely different approach, attitude, and focus than has been seen here in a very long time. Does that mean they will not self destruct down the stretch? Of course not, but it argues to the "fact" that none of the sordid factual history you point out actually has anything to do with what will happen on Sunday. I am enjoying this season and am optimistic for the future. So sue me. My comment was meant more as an observation rather than a personal attack, but I certainly see how you would see it otherwise and for that I apologize.

The Saints look to be their real deal, built the right way over the past few years. It will be a big test for The Bills but I expect a strong bounce back from the uncharacteristic game against the Jets. We are at home, they are highly motivated to redeem themselves, and we have a couple of new offensive weapons with Benjamin playing his first game and Clay coming back from injury. I think this will be a hard fought game.
