Exactly the childish response I expected to that. Maybe you should have started a new thread. -
Enough with The Whinging About Starting New Threads
FLFan replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You apparently have no idea of how much better this board was previously. Sorry, but having to wade through dozens of new threads on the very same topic with everyone's all-important personal take is annoying and counterproductive. 90% of the threads started add no new value. It is out of control. I get your point, but there are two sides to this, and I am clearly on the other. This thread is a perfect example of what I am talking about. There was already a thread started earlier this week on this topic. No need to start a new one because you are either too lazy to read it or too self important to not have your opinion at the top of the page. This behavior used to be enforced, and self policed, and no longer is. Oh, well. Change comes to all things. Does not mean its better. -
I think 4 is still in play as well. All this teeth nashing and panic is a bit comical. You know who is not panicking? Beane, bescause he knows the plan and the options and we do not. No one should be surprised the Jets moved up. It could certainly be argued moving up to 3 this early only would have left the option open for the Jets to move to 2. Now the Jets are committed, have no capital left, and the Bills are not. Relax.

Penetration has always been Kyle's role. He is not as effective at this consistently as once was for sure, although still effective at times, especially if someone next to him is occupying two blockers. Washington was supposed to be this but has not shown it. I expect the Bills to look for Kyle's replacement in this draft. When Dareus was actually playing well, prior to his big fat contract, he was also able to penetrate as well as tie up blockers. Rare skill set and why he was paid. Unfortunately, he has not been that player since. Fatter, slower, and less motivated year to year. He is no longer that player, and a problem as well, hence his replacement with Star.

Great signing. The Skins were counting on him last year and his loss to injury really hurt their defense. They definitely wanted to keep him.

Have no idea but I expect it will be something similar to Tyrod's last deal - decent but not great money year one, with a raise in year two but an out for the Bills. This is a great fit for McCarron because it gives him an opportunity to start and prove his value. If the Bills move on in Year 2 in, he will get an opportunity to cash in. Opportunity to play is probably his primary motivator at this point. It gives the Bills an option to not start the rookie until he is ready, which hopefully is before year two, but gives them a reasonable chance to be very competitive in the meantime.

This thread is a perfect illustration of why Kaep will never again play in the NFL. Too polarizing. Unfair, but it is what it is.

So do we not have a plan at WR in free agency?
FLFan replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. This was not the year to invest big money in the WR position, given the uncertainty at QB and the limited cap space they have. They will be in a much better position to do that next year cap wise, and hopefully with full view of the long term QB. -
Philly deadline to get under the cap: Nick Foles
FLFan replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. If the Bills made this trade it would not be for a bridge. They would be committed. It is this or try to trade up, not both. I am not in favor of writing in Foles as the Bills QB for the next five years. Wrong answer. -
Just have to say it - loving this new Bills regime. They have a plan and are not afraid to execute it. This is what front office competence looks like. It's been a while. Here's hoping they get the next part right and pick the right QB, whether trade, free agency, or draft.

This thread is the smile of the day.

I agree that you can not judge him based on the Rams experience. Fischer was an offense/QB killer. Flat out aweful

Chris Cooley: Vikings ready to offer Cousins $91M guaranteed
FLFan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most Skins fans feel this way, as did the team. Cousins has worn out his welcome in DC. I do not think you will hear any of his teammates bemoaning his loss either. There is no significant difference at all between Smith and Cousins in practical terms. Smith does have more playoff experience and is more mobile. Neither is elite. -
Schefter: Cousins List Down To 4 Teams (No Bills)
FLFan replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, not sure why you assume that Beane was scared away. Perhaps Cousins is not interested in the Bills? Perhaps the Bills do not believe Cousins is all that capable? In this they would be in agreement with the Redskins. Second, there is absolutely no valid comparison between Brees and Cousins. None. I am very happy the Bills are not involved in this particular sweepstakes , regardless of the reasons. -
Agree. There were certainly positive signs last year, particularly the way they prepared, the competitiveness, the team first attitude, etc. I liked the way the defense played down the stretch, buckling down and getting the Bills in the playoffs. They still have a long way to go to consistently compete with the best. He has the program established and they now need to build a better roster, and this will take some time, but I am confident he will have them competitive along the way.

Zay Jones will be in the slot position. They need outside receivers.
-
All true, although I think he did largely work himself out of the aweful start in terms of catching the ball. The problem became getting open. They did him no favors playing him on the outside. Hopefully with the changes being made, and hopefully with a QB who can/will actually throw the ball, playing out of the slot he will develop. It is certainly way too early to give up on him.
-
He has definitely proven his ability to lead a team to a 7/8 win season. Cue the excuses for his lack of leadership and big game/big situation ability. Rather have a rookie than a 29 year old uber expensive average to above average QB who has reached the peak of his abilities. Exactly. Shanahan knows Cousins and rolled their dice with Jimmy. Cousins is good, not great, and will not make the team better around him. Whether he is better than Tyrod, or the other hot garbage we have been rolling out forever, is besides the point. We need to do better than Cousins.
-
More than likely. Dareus is fat, lazy, and stupid. Not a great combination.

3 team trade Skins, 49ers, Bills, we get Jimmy G
FLFan replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be great if this fantasy were true, but it certainly is not. I think SF going for Jimmy rather than waiting for Cousins says all you need to know about what people in the know really think of Cousins, as Shanahan is certainly in the best position to know. Cousins is at his ceiling as an average to slightly above average NFL QB, while Jimmy is only at the beginning and looks much more promising in terms of talent and leadership, and is much younger. No way SF flips these two. -
That part is believable. Personally, I hope the rumour to Denver is true. I don't want this guy on the Bills, while I realize this probably puts me in the minority opinion. I would rather see another QB spot open in front of the Bills in the draft.
